We enjoyed a 20 inch $40 traditional, naked wings, and 6 meatballs in marinara. All were great! No complaints. Watch out for the oil on top of the pizza when you do your fold. Don't get it all over yourself llike a rookie... Crust, cheese, sauce, and toppings were delicious. Plus, we were entertained by a singing, pizza flipping pizzaiolo that kept us smiling. Service was basically a walk up counter with a polite cashier. Nothing special about the decor or location in a co-op market. Go for good pizza, period... Really enjoy their pizza but when ordering to go for single slices have discovered they pack the wrong pizza. Ordered a thin crust slice today and received a non thin crust slice. I've been a Tony fan for yeaaaaars, back from when I lived around the corner and he opened up Tony's Pizza in the City! The friends that camped out at my apt waiting for our table in a 3 hour wait know how far back our love for Tony goes. The menu and concept here are different but the guy knows his pizza so it hits the spot eveeeeery time. So the food: the Sweet Gino slice is the unexpected star of the show for me -- I didn't think this unassuming (square) slice on a grandma crust would pack the flavor punch it does -- the sweetness of the tomato sauce, the cheese and the basil just flow together on a crispy medium thick crust. Soooo good. I also liked the True Italian which is a pesto base NY style crust topped with fresh sliced tomatoes. I love that they don't serve just one crust style because I can get a thicker deep dish crust any day I'm in the mood for something different instead of needing to go somewhere else. For a sweet post-pizza treat, the fresh baked cookies are soft and have a sprinkle of salt for the perfect sweet/salty combo IMO. Everything I've tried at this location has sang to my inner foodie and I can't wait to be back and try everything else on the menu! I don't eat meat but I hear from friends that their pepperoni and wise guy are delish. The restaurant is located in a section of a larger marketplace with other small shops around. It gets busy when I've been there and seating is a bit limited because there is some construction work being done by the neighboring building in the outdoor paseo area, so the only tables right now are indoor until the paseo is cleared. Was very disappointed in the lack of customer service. There was no line and I said hi to the woman behind the counter. She looked at me and walked away without speaking. I decided on my order, and as I walked to the register, the employee walked away. She started to wipe the tables and spoke to a teenage girl. The girl said she would do it for $5 so I'm guessing she was her daughter and was asked to help out. I waited a minute and left. Usually the pizza is pretty good but lately the quality of the food has gone down They seem to have really dropped the quantity of cheese going into the slice which results in a bland experience when all you want is a slice they are reheating. This is the best pizza! The texture and flavor is much different than other chain pizza restaurants and Slice House is now my favorite place for pizza. The staff was very attentive and my order came out very quickly. So many pizza options, it is hard to choose among them and the slices are HUGE so unless you come with someone else and agree to share different slices, you might be disappointed that you could not sample more of the delicious looking varieties on display. The cheese was not even melted. I placed a large order for a meeting and was disappointed. Not only did they short me items, not follow directions, but they also gave me the wrong pizza. Not just the wrong pizza, they gave me a pizza LOADED with meat in lieu of the vegetarian I ordered. Ordered 4 pizzas, requested double cut - didn't happen. Orders 9 cookies, got 3. Ordered (1) vegetarian pizza and 3 meat pizzas, received (4) meat pizzas. There was a vegetarian at my meeting that didn't get lunch. I tried calling to get a refund, they don't answer. I am a fan of Slice House. I usually go to the San Leandro location and was over joy when I heard they opened one in Castro Valley. However, today I was filled with disappointment as the customer service was ridiculous and the wait time was over an hour for a 20" pepperoni pizza . Highly suggest placing the order online (I placed mine at 6:30PM) and the workers spoke in Spanish when I arrived at 7:38 PM; my pizza was supposed to be ready by. There was no sign stating "phone or online order pick up" as mention on the email. Spoke to the cashier and another lady who simply told me to wait for a text message as they search for my order on the screen. I showed them the confirmation email and pick up time. They spoke in Spanish assuming I did not understand but clearly my order was not filled. By 7:52 PM, my pizza was ready but they ran out of cookies... I clearly saw them earlier. I asked do I get a refund since it was part of my initial order and she said no substitutes as she walks away.
