I dropped by for a quick lunch today and the gentleman who took our order recommended a delicious slice for my family. Thank you very much to Ricardo's recommendation! This is a super clean and organized local pizza shop inside the Castro Valley Marketplace. Come and check them out!

Where to begin. I genuinely would come to slice house once a week when frequenting the Castro Valley marketplace. The pizza options in terms of slices and pies were great. Ive noticed a shift where dam near every single slice option has bacon/ ham/ pork options. I do not eat any type of pork and its disappointing that it's become the case. Ive also noticed this at other slice house locations. I used to really enjoy the Big Papa that they took off the menu and replaced with a similar option that includes pork. Every week I check the slice house line up options and maybe 1 (basic cheese) are non-ham eating friendly. The Bay Area is a diverse place. Would recommend some market research on the diverse groups and eating habits of those that live in and frequent the locations. Authentic pizza can be made that doesnt require every option to include pork. I know they have other menu options but sometimes you dont want to buy a whole pie.

Amazing pizza as usual High quality ingredients, great for a quick eat, and consistently good.

My husband and I tried the NY style Purple Potato and Walker's White Pie slices. Both were so good! I only wish they had more individual slice options available. I wanted to try the Hot Honey and Cal Italia slice, but were only available as a whole pie. I'd still come back to try other slices and possibly order a box or two. The restaurant is located in downtown Castro Valley as part of a food hall. There's limited street parking but a few nearby parking lots available. There's limited seating inside but plenty outside. The staff was nice, attentive and fast.

My kiddos favorite pizza. They have slices most of the day but I recommend the whole pies for better quality. This is our usual delivery spot so we don't eat in much. This location is a part of a food hall with a grocery store and some other small food spots. A cheese pizza will run you close to $30 but based on the pizza in the area it's worth it. Service depends on the day. Clearly cookies are not their specialty!

I feel like from the times I've had Slice House, you can never go wrong for a quick slice on the go. They have a variety of pizzas you can choose from. They have vegan and gluten free pizzas but sadly those don't come in slices. Hoping and crossing fingers they're able to provide that option in the near future! They're located in the Castro Valley Marketplace that has so many things you can do while you wait for your pizza to be prepared. They sale drinks like fountain sodas and also alcoholic drinks like beer and wine.

If I could leave zero I would. My parents would frequent this establishment 1 to 2x a week. Every time they've come it's been all good but their most recent visit was horrible. They called ahead of time to order a pineapple, ham & extra bacon pizza. When they arrived and received their order they brought it to the staff attention that the pizza was not even warm and the bacon was just tossed over the pizza which gave us the impression the pizza wasn't made to order. When the employees reheated the pizza they would mock my parents and laugh pretty loud. They only ate one slice each and lost appetite after seeing how gross the employees were behaving. They found a hair strand & have the impression the employees could of done something more to their pizza. Like spit on it. They covered their window with pizza boxes but we could still hear them laughing. It's pretty sad because we're a family of 20 who will support this business or to mention a mom club from Oakland and San Leandro who will now refuse to support this establishment. We asked for a manager and none was on site. We will be taking this up to corporate.

My pizza slices of choice were the Wiseguy and the BBQ Chicken (Friday Pizza of the Day, NY style). Both slices were delicious and HUGE! I believe each slice was only $6.50. Service was friendly and fast. In addition, I ordered a cannoli, but the cream was just ok. Here's What I Think ... This is a good spot to go if you want something a little different than your local pizza shop. The prices are reasonable and the slices are huge. I'll be back. If you're in the neighborhood and in the mood for pizza, give Slice House a try.

We recently tried Slice House in Castro Valley and were really impressed. We ordered a Sicilian-size pepperoni and sausage pizza along with a large Hawaiian pizza, and both were solid choices. The pizza itself is really good, especially the crust--perfect texture and flavor. One thing I loved about the Hawaiian pizza is that the pineapple is thinly sliced, not those chunky tidbits that keep falling off. It makes a huge difference and keeps every bite balanced. Portions are generous, and the serving size is definitely great value for the money. We also ordered the cannoli, and it was pretty good--nice way to end the meal. The shop is located inside the Castro Valley Marketplace, which makes it a convenient stop. On top of the food, the service was awesome. Shoutout to Collin--he was friendly, helpful, and made the experience even better. We'll definitely be back!

Delicious, gourmet pizza which is a pricier treat now and then. I'm happy that Tony came back since many years of Pyzano's being gone.

Great place with yummy pizza. I waited a little bit to give a review because I wanted them to sort out their workflows and I can say the improvement is great. Early on I would show up and my pizza would be ready but I was not told nor was it out for me to find. I can say they now consistently call names, ask me what my name is when I walk in, and I have a great take out, delivery, or dine in meal. I really love the creativity of the pizza options and the option to have multiple types of crust size. My favorite is the Cal Italia! The saltiness of the prosciutto and the sweetness of the drizzle make it the best! They have some good happy hour rotations daily and the hot oil is delish. One day I wanna try some pasta but for now, I'm sticking to the za :) They have rotational slices daily so you can try something new each time. I'm excited to pick out my free birthday slice this week!

    Burnt, dry and mostly inedible.

I'll start by saying that when we first started ordering from here, the pizza was consistently good. Fresh, well-made and delicious. Lately, it's been hit or miss. There have been orders where the toppings were skimpy or missing, and orders where the pizza was undercooked. I don't like writing reviews, especially if they're on the negative side, but tonight I couldn't skip a review. It was that bad. We decided to order a different style, with different toppings. A grandma style BBQ chicken. A full third of this pizza was inedible, Absolutely burnt on the bottom and outside edges. I couldn't even bite through it. It was a sad, dry, burnt pie. I know the difference between "caramelized" and burnt. This was burnt. If we lived closer, I would have brought it back to the restaurant, but we are a 15-20 min drive away. For nearly $40 a pie, this is totally unacceptable. To make matters worse, there is no way to contact via email (ordered online) to give feedback on your order. I am extremely frustrated, disappointed, and hungry. I am not exaggerating when I say that I've had better frozen pizza. Seriously. If you're going to order a bbq chicken grandma style, do yourself and your wallet a favor and just pick up a frozen CPK bbq chicken from the grocery store as there is very little difference. And then if you burn it, you only have yourself to blame. That said, the Detroit picante (which is our usual go-to order) is usually really good - unless it's under cooked and toppings are skimpy (which is sometimes the case.) So sad - this is one of the better places for takeout. We may give them another chance, but not anytime soon as I hate getting burned.

I love the New Orleans food scene and therefore had a pretty high bar for Cajun food outside of Louisiana. I came in a little hesitant because I've been disappointed too many times by the options we have in the bay for Cajun food. But after I opened the box and took my first bite of that blackened shrimp Po Boy I could've sworn I thought I was sitting in the French Quarter again. The nice young lady that took my order recommended the blackened shrimp as an underrated choice on the po boys so I had to try it out. I came stuffed with a Red wine coleslaw, tomatoes, pickle slices and a drizzle of their special sauce (that I can only describe as spicy cajun mayo). 12/10 and I'm not exaggerating I also had a side (and when I say side take it with a grain of salt cause this feeds like 3 people for being a side) of the fresh Crab fries. Not overdone with the ingredients yet what a powerful hit of flavor, the Cajun seasoning usually comes out a bit salty on fries but these guys figured out how to balance it with the fresh shredded crab on top, garnished off with some green onion and more special sauce, this thing made me look around the room to see if anyone else was reacting like this over the food. (And they were! People were sitting there talking about "last time I tried ___ and ___ and it was fire") In the end I saw a guy that looked very proud to be there and was helping around the place while running back to his computer, that was Brett, the owner. I had to go and shake the man's hand and pick his mind a bit. He's a born and raised in New Orleans guy and you could tell by his kindness and southern hospitality. (Dude gave me a delicious carrot cake to go) Unfortunately in the end I had to walk back out into the reminder that I was in Castro valley and not New Orleans but for minute I was able to remember everything that had previously experienced from my trips there and that's what a great meal should do for you. His city should be proud of what he created here. I will absolutely be back to work my way through the full menu and add more pics to this review.

The batter and crunch from the fish and shrimp was delicious. I didn't finish my grist and had them the next day and just as good. Brussels sprouts could have been chopped in 1/4 to get more sauce on them or cooked a little more tender. The Jambalaya was seasoned perfectly for me. The beignets were very dense and not light on the inside, maybe skip those next time. The brown sugar lemonade was on point!! Would recommend for a brunch date on a the weekends. They are a great snack while you wait for your meal. 9/10 - The ube pancakes: These were pretty solid. I didn't think that the pancakes themselves had a very strong ube flavor, if any. I think all of the flavor was in the ube coconut sauce that they come with. However, there is only sauce on the first layer so you might want to get extra! It is an additional $2.75 or so to get the extra side of ube sauce, though. The pancakes themselves could have been a little more moist and fluffy, as they were a bit dry and dense. I loved the fruit and sauce, so that definitely made up for it! I'm glad that I got to try, but I don't think I'd get them again. Instead, I would get a regular pancake and a side of the ube coconut cream! 8/10 - The chorizo burrito: My bf said that this was also a pretty good option. He thought that it could have been a bit more flavorful, but was still satisfied with his meal! 7.5/10 - The side of hash browns: These were good, as to be expected! The vibes are always there, and they are such a convenient place to grab breakfast or brunch.
