Well, was pretty excited to eat here and decided to meet up with some folks on Saturday afternoon. Problem is that they were closed. Yelp listed them as open on Saturday, Google says open on Saturdays, sign on door for hours of operation states open on Saturdays, but the thick chain lock around the doors definitely gave us the message of being closed. So while I cannot comment on the food, that is just wrong to have hours posted and then not be open. WTF!?!?! Am I wrong here? Is my frustration justified? And to make things worse, I was shamed and dishonored my name in front of my friends who were standing outside, wandering aimlessly, or perhaps in search of an open door, or even worse, that I was mistaken by the address given and checking their phones to verify. How humiliating. All that could have been avoided if Edgewater Pizza had made it clear they would be closed. Even a nice little note on the door stating why they were closed for the day would have been nice. You know, sorry for not being open, we had to attend to a family emergency. Something. Edgewater Pizza is a restaurant located in the Hayward Business/Industrial Park near Hwy 92. It's in a small strip mall near the Clawiter Rd Exit. When I actually worked in the business park, I used to stop by and grab a slice of pizza. It's a family owned business. The nice people would always try and talk me into ordering a whole pizza, assuring me it'll be ready in 10-minutes! The pizzas are like the standard classic pizza. Crispy crust, a little doughy, not too cheesy, and with a good dose of toppings. I usually order a Pepperoni pizza, put it on the front seat and eat it while driving. Yes, not exactly the healthiest activity. But it's really nice to have a good pizza place with fast and friendly service in our business park. Located right where Eden Landing & Clawiter Rd meet. Looking at the map, there's a narrow piece of land up against the freeway....there's a small strip mall there. It has off street parking. Overflow parking is the lot across the street. read more

I like their regular crust a lot and recently for a large pizza with sausage and pepperoni, their pricing is great as well with other places charging 5 dollars more for the same thing. The crust is slightly crispy on bottom and doughy in a good way. Sauce is well seasoned and they cover the pizza pretty well with cheese and toppings. This is our go-to pizza for takeout/delivery! We always use a delivery app for it and they have their own delivery drivers who are always on time. I think one of their drivers probably knows how to get to our home by heart now! We absolutely love the Kotto Chicken Pizza. It's so delicious and creamy and exactly the kind of pizza I like. If you don't want a red sauce pizza, you gotta try the Kotto. Other than that one we usually also get the Combo pizza. I was little hesitant to order from here since I've never heard of it, but from the reviews, I wanted to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. The ordering system is extremely easy and because they had such a variety of food items besides pizza, I couldn't figure out what their specialty was. Since most of the reviews were about the Middle Eastern food, I decided to get the chicken kebab and a combination pizza. The order arrived on time and I was pleased with the outcome of the food. I almost gave it a five-star, but because my chicken plate came all in disarray (probably from the movement of delivery, I knocked down one star. Four is still pretty good. I am looking forward to trying the other dishes besides the chicken in the future. Maybe I will update my review then when I get a stellar experience the next time around. This is the some of the best pizza in the bay. We only order from here now and have ordered 15+ times. So glad I found this place. If you live somewhat in the area they deliver too. The service is great too! They make sure everything is right and if it's not they fix it. The pizza here is by far what you should order. Their wings are also fantastic. Way better than BDUBS. Tried this spot for the first time and I gotta say.... its a great place for great tasting food. I ordered the NY steak plate with house salad,my son had the Hawaiian pizza. Excellent flavors and very filling. They deliver if your within the area. It is tucked away in the industrial area but don't let that stop you from trying it. There's seating inside or get it to go. I've been getting work done on my new house and gone through quite a few pizza places on doordash, searching for a good pie in my new neighborhood. Tried edgewater today, and not the best pizza I've ever had, but I am a fan compared to what I have had in the area so far. Rundown on what we tried today: Mango habanero wings: similar to buffalo wild wings in how it's fried naked and crispy. Sauce was good, but was mostly sweet with little to no heat. Definitely NOT spicy like bdubs. Thumbs up though, because the naked/crispy wings are exactly what I like! Onion rings: another bdub favorite for me and my husband. he's always on the hunt for onion rings like bdubs. These were it. Perfection. We'll order a bajillion orders of this next time. Jalapeno poppers: Nothing special, but not bad. Your run of the mill frozen poppers that were deep fried. Lots of cream cheese, no spice. By far not the worst poppers I've ever had, but I also wouldn't go out of my way for them again. Pizzas: We got a plain, BBQ chicken, and margarita. Toppings were excellent and fresh. Plentiful as well. Loved the fresh mozz on the margarita, fresh basil as well, but I think it was missing something. I usually don't like grease, but it oddly enough was a little too dry, and I think it was missing sauce and fresh garlic for that true margarita punch. BBQ chicken was nuts. A lot going on and almost overwhelming, but delish. Plain pizza was good. Overall issue I had was the crust. I'm from NJ and have a high bar for mom and pop pizza crust, and this just wasn't it for me. It was bland, a little too doughy. More like your dominos/chain pizza type crust instead of that crust that tastes buttery/salty/crispy and made fresh by hand every day. Been wanting to try this place because of the margherita pizza but sadly I had to order something else, cuz kids! Got the Eden special pizza and I can say it was pretty tasty. The sauce is kinda sweet but doesnt really matter since it has bacon to offset it a bit. My kids enjoyed, crust was good, just right. Also ordered a philly cheesesteak sandwich. Could've been a little bigger and more meat. But tastewise, it was good. Lastly, ordered a house salad and I was pleasantly surprised that all the greens were crisp, nothing wilted. Only complaint is it couldve had more cucumber, but thats on me. I prob couldve mentioned that in the instructions when I ordered. Overall, my family enjoyed our first meal. What a gem this place is, in a very inconspicuous location. Used to come here often back when it was at the old location (other end of building, different owner) and a few times at the new one while going to school nearby. But, I completed my apprenticeship so I hadn't been back as I live in the east east bay. Only complaint is no beer, but the food more than makes up for that. (Get a liquor license and open more locations! Especially east! :^) ) Met the owner on my first visit back in a couple years and it's no surprise why this place is so good. Extremely friendly and takes pride in making foundation ingredients in house. Order done on time, (almost too) hot, fresh and tasty. Toppings all very fresh. If any of you are from the Fresno area, come here... I would compare it with Me N Ed's, but without the inflated, ridiculous prices. Great food, fair and reasonable prices, great service. Wish more businesses had their heads screwed on straight like this place. Well done. Order an XLG or two, take to go what you don't finish... and reheat in the oven. Awesome. Hidden spot in Eden Landing off the 92. Decided on pasta and calzones for the night and decided to try this spot out. Small spot with tight seating so not a great place to have a group. The food is good and can hit the spot. Kids ate spaghetti while I went with the shrimp pasta. Real easy dishes and pretty friendly staff who made sure to check in on us while dining. Good food, crust on the calzone was a little burnt but no harm no foul. read more

My husband commented that it seems like all the pizza places in Hayward all went to the pizza school and learned how to make pizza the same way. This place was no exception. Love Edgewater for delivery! The salads are big nd plenty, I always order the Caesar now. They have pasta dishes that are simple but yummy, I like the Alfredo.
