DO NOT RESERVE AN EVENT HERE! Manager Sonia is rude and condescending. She does not speak with customers over the phone. Horrible customer service. I have been going to this location for years. We normally book for our kids birthday parties and haven't had any issues before. Until Wednesday, September 23rd at 7:43pm I called to reserve a room for Sunday, October 4th. The person I spoke with told me there was a $25 dollar deposit to reserve a room. They charged my card but I never received any text or email confirmation for the reservation. Our father fell ill so I called them back 3 days later on Saturday, September 26th at 1:31pm to cancel my reservation and ask for a refund on my deposit. The employee that day consulted with his coworker and told me that I'll receive a call later that night for the refund because the manager was not in yet. They assured me I would get a refund. At night I came down with the flu and forgot I should have been expecting a call. I called them back Friday, October 2nd at 6:22pm to ask about my refund. Again the employee consulted with his coworker. The manager was not in. They told me to call back on Sunday, October 4th at 1pm because that's when the manager will be in to process my refund. Saturday, October 3rd at 12:36pm I received a call from an employee. The employee said his manager asked him to call me to tell me that the refund is not available. I asked when will it be available. When I made the reservation no one ever said it was a nonrefundable deposit. It also doesn't say anything on the website and I received no email saying there was a nonrefundable deposit. The past two times I called they never told me it wasn't available. They were just waiting for the manager to process the refund. He told me it was not available because they had turned people away for that room. I told him I called over a week ago to cancel. They were aware of the cancellation. They just needed the manager to process the refund. He then told me to come in on Sunday, October 4 to speak with the manager. I come in the store Sunday, October 4th to speak with their manager Sonia. She tells me they can't do refunds but I can get store credit. I ordered a medium pizza and a small drink. Three minutes after I sit down I see they have a King pizza available for $19.99. I go back to ask Sonia to please cancel the medium pizza and make the King. She tells me it is only an online special. Nowhere on the site does it say it's only available online. She tells me she can't because they already started making it. I tell her this is a better deal and I would like the King since it took me having to drive down here to speak with her. I tried three times contacting her over the phone and each time she was not in. Sonia says that she was only aware on Friday the 2nd about my call. I showed her my call log to prove that I called on September 26th. She says showing her the log that I called over a week ago doesn't change anything. Sonia then tells me she is there every day and we could have spoken over the phone. If she was there, why wouldn't her employees pass her the phone? Then she starts getting rude saying she has kids and I probably called when she was out for a few minutes. Is there not a covering manager? Can no one else offer a refund or store credit? She says she didn't call me back because her staff told her I was coming in. I didn't say I was coming in until the day before when the three times I was on the phone with them she wouldn't call me back or come to the phone. read more

Been buying gluten free pizza (both cheese and the California Veggie) for over a year. Was able to take out yesterday. It's a cute place with lots of screens, and I could see how it would be fun to eat in here as a group. We used to eat here all the time but this most recent time the service was awful. Ordered the family meal deal for $29.99 as advertised and the sign on the front door shows 4 drinks with dine- in as it always has. When we ordered got told it only comes with 2 drinks. So I was charged for 2 more drinks. So when I brought to their attention the worker who I think is the owner argued with and told me I was wrong and lifted up a sign that was underneath another promotion to show me. In support of our son's school fundraiser we tried to order pizza here. It looked good with the reviews and pics and we were excited to try. Our experience is based off of the customer service aspect. I placed an order and the employee answered took my order and address for delivery but said I'll call you back for the total. That was odd but I wasn't worried yet, I waited 20 min before calling back trying to confirm my order. She stated yes it is ordered. 1.5 hrs later I call and asked for an update, the next employee then stated it would be another 45-1hr. I've never had a pizza delivery take over two hours to receive. This place should not do fundraising if they are not prepared for the uptick of orders. Whoever the management/owner is... they did not prepare the poor employees for this fundraising event. We came here to watch the basketball game, but to my surprise a bunch of people were watching the UFC fights. We ordered two small personal pizzas and an appetizer to share. The food total was about $35 without tip and we bought thought it was pricey. I wanted to find out why it cost so much, but the lady didn't want to give me a receipt showing the breakdown. The wait for our food was extremely long. I understand pizza takes a long time to make, but even our appetizer took forever. We waited 40 minutes for all our foods to come and it wasn't that great. I had asked for extra pineapples and it didn't seem like they honored that. After eating, we wanted to check our the arcade in the back. My granddaughter and I walked into Straw Hat. I was on the phone with my daughter. The owner and worker were staring at us , I turned and caught them talking about me. He awkwardly waved. Went up to counter as I hung up phone. Ordered the lunch deal. Comes with pizza, drink and salad. She right away tells me there is no sharing. I will eat the salad that my granddaughter does not want. She said no sharing, well never going again after so many years and much money spent. There's something fabulous about having a local pizza shop that nails everything they do. Straw Hat is one of those pizza joints in this part of the Bay. We ordered the chicken bacon ranch and a side of wings. Now, the wings weren't anything special to write about. Just your typical pizza shop hot wings. Spice level was good but the wings were just middle of the road. The pizza though! Oh man...so much flavor and taste packed into a circular food. We demolished the pizza as quickly as we got due to a mix of hunger and taste. The pizza was good and I would say it's worth a try but make sure you asking how long delivery will be if your going that route. I have been inside and they have always been nice.
