The employees at this location were terrible at customer services. They're only nice to customers who speak Spanish. If you don't speak or understand Spanish, don't come here. They talked shit about you in Spanish with each other in front of you. I learned Spanish in school so I understood them. They made my order wrong and refused to pay me back the difference. Especially, the store manager, who asked me to go file complaint but refused and was afraid to give me her name. All of the employees there did not have their name tags. On my receipt that the she gave me, her name was Kimberly. Hopefully, it was her real name. She was a Spanish lady. She had no manner of a manager. She was rude and acted that she didn't need customers. It was the first time in my life that I met a store manager like her. I felt SORRY for Jose Garzona to hire her. She will push all your customers away. I'm a loyalty customer for more than 10 years. My family and friends will never come back to this location. This location deserves ZERO star. read more

I'm pretty impressed with this Five Guys. I was there during a lunch rush, and they cranked out burgers and fries like rock stars. The place was straight up busy, but they had a long counter, with a burger assembly line to move the orders along. I ordered the classic combo for $14.99 with my burger "all the way" so it was big and sloppy. Just like a burger should be! It had grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and oozed all that good stuff with every bite. The fries were natural cut and oh-so-crisp. I wish I knew their secret. I had a lemonade, with a free refill to wash it all down. The restaurant was spotless inside, and had bags of peanuts stacked on the floor. I helped myself, for someone thing to munch while I waited for my combo. Nice job guys! All five of you! read more

New crew running the place and as always ! Awesome service. One thing needs to be pointed out is that every-time we order our burgers seems to have a hint of onions etc. on my burger and other smells and flavors of things we did not want on our burgers so please make sure the pallet is clean for us that loves a plain burger :)... read more

I mean it's five guys. They're consistent with the food and the quality. There are times where the service is a little bit slower or not quick, but that's the nature of the business. If you don't like then, work for Five guys? LOL. I'm not here to defend corporations or anything, but there are bigger things to complain about. Anyway, the food was good. It's usually clean and there's always seating. The only thing I hate about this location is the cell service. It's bad, but not the fault of the store, just the location. read more

Service is A1 but the food fell off. Burger buns are always stale at this location for some reason. It just Dont hit like it use to.

Five Guys is one of the few non-drive through burger places that I would bother to have a burger. My colleague and I found this location through Yelp. The ordering of the food (made to order burgers) was easy and fast. We didn't have to wait too long for the reliably good double, bacon, cheese burgers, fries and shakes! The only comment was have about this location is that it's small!...I've been to McDonald's play areas bigger than this location! Also, the outside seating area, as one does on a beautiful Bay Area day, you're stuck listening to Starbucks drive through customers! I can hardly fault the staff or the food for the poor real estate situation but one should know this about the location. read more

Five Guys - Grilled Cheese Sandwich w/ grilled onions and mushrooms - Burgers Near Me - Hayward, California

I had a pretty interesting time at the Five Guys location in Hayward, on Hesperian Blvd near Industrial. This is the restaurant in the small strip mall near the Costco. Good location.....busy area, lots of businesses nearby, and free parking. I thought it would be fun to go in and order in person. It was 45-mins before closing. First, it's really loud and noisy inside. The order taker was yelling at me. I'm the only customer there, and everyone is yelling grill orders. So I decide on a cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate shake. Everything is cool as I'm standing away from the counter. When I stepped up to the counter, then the fry cook let me know he's adding extra fries to my order. He gave me a regular fries, and then what appeared to be half a basket of fries in the bag. How are the fries? Great texture, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. But too much salt! Grade (4/5). Milk Shake? Grade(4/5): Creamy, smooth, good flavor, but not cold enough. It's customer preference. I like the old school style of milk shake with the "icy bite." When you get a milkshake from a Wendys or McDonalds, and it has a grainy appearance, those are ice crystals. When you drink it, your mouth will be COLD! The Cheeseburger "All The Way", Grade (4/5): Good double cheeseburger. Proof that you can make a cheeseburger that isn't dry, tastes good, and travels well. Even when it's " All The Way!" While I was standing there watching the lady cook my burger, my order taker puts a box of peanuts on the counter. He says " Did you want some peanuts?" He gave me half a bag to take home. I read somewhere that Five Guys doesn't like you to watch the crew cook. So they distract the customers with free peanuts. Overall, very interesting experience at Five Guys in Hayward. Good crew, they were team players and had good customer service. Good and generous food. Way too much fries, and thanks for the peanuts! BTW, total price: $22. If you love it, it's worth the price! read more

I place my order online and the website is very user friendly it gives you so many opponents to make sure that your hamburgers made the way that you want even then they still made mistakes but as far as the flavor of the hamburger it was very bland. Over price almost $30 for a cheese burger and fries i don't think it's worth it to pay that much their burger meal lol

It's a bit pricey, but their burgers, fries, shakes and staff are first rate. We love the choices of condiments that can be added to the burger and also love the fries, especially the cajun ones, and yummy milkshakes. read more

I had a positive experience overall. In terms of the food, I just like the other Hayward location a little more. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/five-guys-hayward-3?select=th2YP_gAdIshy_-RGSGTPA: My wife and I went here on the 11th. We only had to wait a few minutes in line (it was about 11:30). Our cashier was warm and friendly, but not thorough enough. Our order wasn't read back to us (it always seems to occur at the other location). A mistake was made regarding my wife's burger, but I partly blame myself for not checking the receipt until it was too late (the eateries near us regularly mess up a little, and so it was strange that I was so trusting). The location is open daily from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. The staff worked well together. Their level of communication was strong, and a few people stood out in terms of being upbeat. The location is small. It's easy enough to move around, but the seating capacity is only about 25. Some kids' drawings are on the cork board, but crayons and paper might not be out in the open now due to the pandemic (big boys don't cry, but I sure wanted to). It's nice that two Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are here (over the years, I have tried a lot of different drink flavors). I love rock music (Five Guys is known for it), but the songs that we heard did not stand out. Keep your receipt if you want a chance to win a $50 gift card. The parking lot spaces are tight. My wife was worried that the driver of a red car caused a scratch (they didn't, but we both felt hemmed in). Note: All prices include tax. Grilled Cheese ($6.19): 8.25/10. My sandwich was tasty (I just added some mayo at home), but it was small and too pricey. Fries - Five Guys Style (Regular- $5.64): 8/10. They needed a bit more seasoning (I added some salt), but we received a great amount. They were also cooked well (not dark or hard) and not at all greasy. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/five-guys-hayward-3?select=tGW0q0ooH8QaqH_V1UZ6aA: Cheeseburger ($10.84): 7.5/10. There was a lot of cheese, and my patties were cooked well. My burger wasn't good enough, however, for what it cost. The guy ahead of us in line was new to Five Guys. I learned, though, that you can get 3 patties instead of 2 if you want (I don't know how much extra you'll be charged). The new guy also asked about the weight of the burgers. If I recall correctly, the patties are a little over 1/3 pound. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/five-guys-hayward-3?select=dkAwF1mqgvOSwGRW6osPhA: Hot Dog ($7.41): 8/10. The hot dogs at the other location are a little tastier, but the ones here are worth ordering overall. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/five-guys-hayward-3?select=rM3EFXGVEwKo91otm2ZM8w: Little Cheeseburger ($8.07): 8/10. Little means that you receive 1 patty instead of 2. She asked for mustard, not grilled mushrooms, but my wife still liked her burger. I like how this location looks (a woman also stared at the signs and framed articles inside), and we received good service overall. The food was just not special enough to warrant a return. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22GEvDupWGo&ab_channel=MrDutton94 read more

It was my first time at this location. Came here with my mom a few weeks ago during lunch. We were surprised it wasn't busy at this time when it usually is. Staff was nice and very helpful. Two double burgers with everything and a small order of fries came out fast. When we were here after customers finished eating and left someone would immediately come out to clean up. At first I thought this Five Guys location had a drive-thru. I was excited about it until the realized the drive-thru belongs to Starbucks. It circles around and it makes it appear as if it belongs to five guys. read more

IT'S FINALLY OPEN!!!! While making my weekly Costco run, I noticed Five Guys was finally opened for business. Instead of dining in on my first visit, I needed to order take out since I had my non-perishables in my car. When I walked in, there was no line to my surprise. Being familiar with this franchise, it was pretty easy ordering my meal. I had been craving for the longest time here is their cajun fries! Besides having a large order of cajun fries on my mind, I ended up ordering a bacon cheese burger (comes with two hamburger patties, American cheese, and bacon), with my choice of toppings of mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, and grilled onions. The service was friendly and my order was expedited in a timely manner. Once I got home, the burger and fries were still hot from a five minute drive. The burger was stacked with delicious patties, veggies, and cheese, packed in-between soft and warm buns. The fries were seasoned nicely with the cajun spice, providing that necessary kick I was looking for. Another burger option closer home and glad it's Five Guys! read more

This restaurant is closeby our house and we only go once every two-three months. Not really a burger person but when my husband craves for it, I just always order the bacon burger. I have it "all-the-way" with jalapeno for extra and boy it doesn't disappoint as always. With fries and chocolate shake, Ohmy!!!... I'm in heaven. To top it with roasted peanuts while waiting, makes it all worthwhile. I love the freshness of their meat and all the seasonings and ingredients. For me, it is just perfect the way I like it. Not too rich and not too overwhelming due to the size. The place and staff are pretty good. Clean and Pleasant. Though I find them pretty pricey. 2 burgers, 1 regular fries and a chocolate shake for $25, I find it okay since we only get to eat them once every 2-3 months. Highly recommended read more

I'm generally a big fan of five guys, but this was absolutely terrible! Read the other reviews - it's totally ok to speak Spanish amongst co-workers. That is totally fine. It is not fine, when a customer asks you something in English, you look at each other speak in Spanish and giggle and then respond in a rude way in English. THEY ARE MOCKING CUSTOMERS. For one thing - I order on DoorDash and go in there when they say my order is ready and he has no clue who I am. I SHOW HIM MY PHONE. He then asks me my name. I say my name, AND SHOW MY PHONE WITH MY NAME ON IT. He again comes to me AND PRONOUNCES MY NAME REAL SLOW. I say, yeah that's me. He then STARTS MAKING MY ORDER. And this was just two Fries! What was he doing all this time?!?! Couple of other people walk in and he asks "Take out, sir?" I got none of that manners. NO PLEASE, NO THANK YOU. NO THING. Not for me. For others yes. Finally I get the fries and the Cajun Fries is NOT FULLY COOKED and VERY LITTLE CAJUN. I literally can taste RAW POTATOES. I already drove back so couldn't drive back and return it and deal with their BAD MANNERS. Tldr; SKIP THIS and go to PACIFIC COMMONS instead. read more

I love that I can add grilled mushrooms to my burger! The first time I've tried Five Guys I was caught off guard by the additional toppings you can add to your burger. Maybe I was just so used to the regular kind of burgers lol! It can be a little hard to find parking in this plaza because it's right next to Costco so try not to go when Costco is likely to be busy as well. There's also a lot of other food joints in the area so parking won't be easy. Depending on hungry I am, I would either get a regular cheeseburger or a little one. I love how they tend to give you more fries (will spill over in the bag). The burger is usually juicy and I love it!! I can honestly say that Five Guys might be one of my favorite burger joints lol Oh and due to COVID, you don't get peanuts anymore boo! read more

This place has many problems, first is the music is to loud, you can't eat your meal inside the restaurant, cost for the items is over rated for the items, along with how it's prepared. This place had 5 employees that I could see,yet no one was cleaning areas where other people had eaten their meals. Was there only a short time because of the loud music being played over head, dirty areas and tables. That idea of paying top dollars for what you get, doesn't apply to this location, food, employees, areas within the restaurant and service rate a low mark. read more

5 Guys grew on me over the years. A lot has to do with experience and the other with perspective. Through experience, I learned to not over do the toppings here. Even though you will be tempted because they offer a ton of options, AND most are FREE. But their burger/cheese/bun tandem is pretty classic and in good balance and quality. I say why hide that simple balance that most places have a hard time getting right. I now go mustard, ketchup, pickles and grilled onion/or raw depending on mood, often both! It's basically the model of a Mc Donald's burger, but this is 10X better/fresher. It's a proven formula. Burger wise I also would like to note that the versions here are not photogenic. It is because they wrap all burgers in foil paper completely. So by the time you unwrap everything, there's a definite smoosh factor. In & Out is much more photogenic as they only wrap half the sandwich in that cardboard sleeve. Despite the look, it does not affect the taste one bit. It is still a solid and juicy burger bite. Trust. Through experience, I learned that their fries here are unique. But not in that fast food/burger way. The fries here are thicker than most fast food. It comes from a fresh potato vs frozen, AND they fry it in peanut oil, which is one of the most expensive oils to use for frying. Now due to the thickness, it doesn't come off super crisp. But that's the way I like it, to have some creaminess in the center, versus just hollow air. These fries are actually quite suitable for a dousing of malt vinegar and salt. So guess what, that's exactly what I do, I get all British up in there. Before the Shelter In Place, they would have bottles of malt vinegar at their condiment station where I would go to town, now I do it at home. Perspective in terms of, I'm rating this burger experience not from ALL burger experiences, but just from the fast food perspective. And for a fast food burger, this is up there. I still love an In & Out Double, but this is right up there, if not being a tad larger/heavier. And there is a big gap between In & Out/5 Guys and the rest of the pack. So in my 2-3 fast food burger outings per year, it is either going be here, or In & Out. Trust. A burger outing here though ain't cheap however. A "meal" of burger/fries/drink will run somewhere between $15-$20, depending on what size fries/drink you get. In & Out is under $10 for a combo meal, so there is that. But you do get more food here. I also got to give props to the main employee here. For as grim as the Shelter In Place environment is (chairs up, hardly any customers, everyone in medical masks), the dude who took the order was extremely cheerful and positive. While doing something else in the back, he made a point to communicate, that he would be there shortly to take my order. Even though he was wearing a mask and I couldn't see a smile, his tone said it all. See you in October 5 Guys, when my fast food burger craving needs to get scratched. read more

I decided to try Five Guys since it's down the street from my house. I've only been to five guys once before and don't really remember my experience so I thought I'd give it a try. The menu is pretty straightforward. They have burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, shakes etc. I got a little bacon sandwich with little fries. First and foremost there's nothing little about their "little" anything so definitely keep that in mind when ordering. In my opinion the prices are pretty steep JUST for a burger but like I said the "little" burger was pretty big so I guess you get what you pay. For the fries you have the option of "Five guys style" or "Cajun" I tried both and Cajun was a bit too salty for my liking so I prefer the "five guys style." Overall good service and good burger spot and complimentary peanuts! I'd come back! read more

The burgers were good although the buns got soggy really fast presumably from the mushrooms. We also got a large cajun fries which is enough for three people. They filled a large cup all the way on top with a lot more which ended up in the bag. They have just about all types of sodas available. I had Mello Yello which I have not had in a long time. Our order was complete in less than ten minutes. There is free peanuts available while you wait. Although the food is good, I don't think the value is there. This is a review for the amazing Siyon! He singlehandedly makes the place come alive. His great energy and positivity made my tired day much better. He was the same way with every person that stepped into the place, trying to make them smile, feel welcome He even took the time to interact with a restless toddler, who's father was waiting for his order. Such a hard worker, keeping busy cleaning, tidying up, serving peanuts, making sure all orders were good. Respectful, polite, great people person. And .. well on top of that he was looking out for the other employees there, checking in on them.
