It must have been the fresh smell of bread that drew me here to discover the new Panera Bread that seemed to have just pop up recently in the Union Landing shopping center in Union City. This location has abundant parking shared by other local errand destinations but is less frequently visited than the other shopping lots in the area. Being so close to the highway entrance, it's an easy place to get to if you're on the go and need a quick bite. For those looking for a place to park for a few hours and get some work done, you're at the right spot! It's quiet, clean, well lit and has free WiFi to get you through the work or study session. Aside from their signature sandwiches and bagels as their name suggests, you'll find other bistro staples like salads, soups, and pasta. For drinks, you'll have the option from their full coffee/espresso bar, teas, smoothies, and of course, soft drinks. I came in specifically to pick up an online order which is easily done through their mobile app. And as with all the other stores, they offer rewards and promotions through the app, including a birthday treat! For this visit, I was picking up a kitchen sink cookie - my favorite of their baked goods! The crispy circumference paired with the soft ingredient rich interior is heavenly with a cup of coffee. The slight saltiness with the sweet chocolate morsels hit all the flavor profiles you'd want from a cookie. The staff is super friendly here and work quite efficiently to keep things orderly yet fulfilled in a timely fashion. They have an open kitchen so you'll be able to peek in and get a good sense of the vibe from the team here. An added plus to be able to see your food being prepared! Overall, after discovering this newest addition to the Panera fleet, I am sure this will be my go-to Panera next time I'm hankering for their sandwiches, bagels or baked goods. The location is perfect for convenience and accessibility and the interior is comfortable. I couldn't ask for a better first impression of the new shop!

This newly opened Panera Bread is very clean and well kept. We ordered our usual entrées, and they were all good. We had the autumn squash soup, chicken noodle soup, and the Fiesta spicy chicken half sandwich. Sandwich was surprisingly very tasty. The customer service was great, and there's plenty of parking since it's located in the same complex as Smart & Final and Michaels. We'll definitely be back sometime!

I like this location. I have only been coming here for about 6 months. Today was not a good day for the quality of food in my order. I thought that there was a little better quality control. I had a half a sandwich and salad, and the spring lettuce in both items was rotten. I had to constantly pick out pieces of bad lettuce. I hope you all do better. I do like the food but I will stop patronizing if it doesn't improve.

Over priced utterly ridiculous, the beverages prices are a joke. Citrus punch $5.39 for 16oz sugar water.. Passion Papaya Green Tea $4.19 just gross. Sandwiches are a joke. Will never step into a Panera again.

My largest complaint is that the meat is all centered in the middle so it looks like you get a ton of meat but about 1/3 of the sandwich is empty. It's a decent option if you're craving a sandwich but the meat discrepancy makes the sandwich feel cheap.

But don't think there are multiple locations...yet. Upon receiving my sandwiches, it was wrapped in a paper with their company logo, and from a quick glance it is super similar to the Jersey Mikes logo in terms of color, so it has a real familiar vibe. No hate just an observation. This used to be another restaurant (maybe even several) on the edge of an industrial zone/business park, but also not too far from several shopping strips. There's spacious seating inside, but in the later afternoon when I went, nobody was eating in. But quite a few take-out and third party pick-ups. I even saw a poster showcasing their catering aspect for common work lunches on the company dime. Good for them. Niles Canyon ($14.50/4*) I opted to up this to their combo meal which includes a bag of chips and a soda for another $5. So this was easily a $20 lunch meal without tipping yet. Pricey yes, but not because they are pricier than most, but that is just the going rate for eating a meal outside these days. $15 - $20 per person are common and anything under $15 is now considered cheap eats and getting harder to run into. This sandwich had slightly warmed up deli turkey that when stacked with the swiss cheese slices, kinda softened the cheese. It wasn't ooey gooey but the cheese wasn't firm and cold either. There was another layer of prosciutto as well which wasn't too noticeable but did add another dimension. I chose to go with the full produce choice, as I love the freshness of veggies to go with meat sandwiches. There was also a layer of fresh avo slices which lent a creamy richness to the bites. I tried one of their sliced breads to go for this sandwich, as I tried a sourdough roll for another sandwich that I got to-go for my work lunch the next day. That way I got to sample their bread offerings. Their sliced marbled rye bread is thick sliced, very soft and moist with a good bread chew. They use a good bread supplier for sure. On top of mayo and mustard which is common, they also put their Bomb Sauce which seems like a garlic-y spread of sorts. I can definitely smell it, but the taste isn't overly strong. I'd say super similar to Mr Pickles. Prosciutto Sandwich ($13/4*) This was an all-cold traditional sandwich. I took a couple of bites there to see how it was fresh from the counter, and I ate the rest the next day at work. I gotta say I liked it better the next day as all the flavors melded more together. Even tho the veggies get a bit mushier, I've always liked a well dressed salad sensation in sandwiches, kinda like a Muffeletta sandwich where it is refrigerated overnight, meant to be eaten the next day. Their prosciutto isn't the old school imported version, or at least I've never had one quite like it. I'm assuming a domestic version, even seemed more like cappicola to me as I sensed a tinge of fennel up in there. So pretty satisfied with my first visit. I'll definitely get sandwiches here again for work or day trip lunches. Pretty much on the same level as Togo's or Mr. Pickles, but just more local. With sandwich names as The Quarry Lakes, The Decoto and The Dumbarton, just pulls on my local lovin' heartstrings. Props.

What won me over was the dairy free drink offerings, which were everything I dreamed of and more. We got the coconut thai tea, perfection, a watermelon smoothie with lychee jelly, it tasted like the most perfect in season watermelon frozen and blended with jelly at the top and bottom of the drink, and the iced coffee with coconut condensed milk, also good but a little stronger/darker than I would prefer but doctored up with just an extra splash of oat milk at home it was rich and energizing. The sandwiches were also excellent and I was so grateful for the employees' flexibility in making a custom sandwich for my picky kids. I love being able to add avocado and love that vegan mayo is an option. The sandwiches were perfect, the tofu is fried and mixed with fried starchy bits that were SO good, the veggies are plentiful and have a great freshly prepared taste, and the balance between ingredients and flavors is just right. They also had some specials available that looked great. The shop is tiny but full of warmth. Everyone was so welcoming, eagerly gave recommendations, and made ordering sandwiches a pleasant and refreshing experience. And there's a nice park and plaza area across the street where you can enjoy your food so the lack of indoor seating (there is a little bench which I'm sure you could use if needed) isn't a problem at all

They are consistently very good at what they do! In addition to their various selection of sandwiches and fresh-made drinks/desserts, they also have hot foods at their hofbrau section for various sides of carbs (rice/noodles), proteins, and veggies. I picked up a bag of Lay's Masala chips I haven't had since I was in Mumbai, excited to eat it with my sandwich. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to make and panini-press and smelled delicious. However, when I got home I immediately noticed the color and thought they had mistakenly used roast beef. I looked at some of the other reviews and their doordash image and I'm confused on what I got. The pastrami was missing the distinct reddish-pink color from brining and black bark from smoking, I'm not sure how it was prepped in-house but it tasted like roast beef. I did enjoy the blueberry jam and pepperoncini combo.
