Great burger spot in downtown Hayward! This little gem always hits the spot. My go to is the bacon cheeseburger. It's filling and is really tasty. They don't skimp on the bacon which I appreciate. The fries are good but I most recently tried the tater tots and they were freaking delicious! I haven't had tater tots in awhile but these were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I've tried the smash burger here and it was a good burger but not what I would consider a true "smash burger". They have quite a bit of indoor seating and a decent sized patio for outdoor dining. I've enjoyed eating outside when we've brought our dog with us. They also offer sandwiches and salads. My coworkers have ordered both and they looked good as well. I've been here multiple times and will continue coming here. I highly recommend if you'd like a tasty burger for a decent price. read more

Let me say, these Rock It Fries are fucking amazing, some of the best fries I've ever eaten in my life! We were able to find parking in the free parking lot located one the rear side of the building. We were greeted right away and were shown the menu and all food options they had.. decision decisions! I was just reminded today why I never eat here after trying it again from some years ago. I ordered the double cheeseburger with onion rings and a vanilla shake. The only decent thing were the onion rings and I'm sure they were the basic bulk bag frozen rings. The burger was horrible! The char grill and over seasoning seemed to try and cover the bad quality meat that I picked up on with the first bite. I asked for an extra thick shake, instead I got a milky shake with lumps of vanilla ice. I expected thick and creamy. All this for $28.75! 2023 Update As much as we love the place for it's famous pies if you get my drift my husband and I now prefer this place better. It is a whole lot better for their sandwiches and burger. You get a lot of burger for your money at this place and there is plenty of seating here with draft beers on tap and bottled beer. There is even outdoor seating to enjoy your food on a nice day. Prices are extremely reasonable for 2 people if just having burgers with no fries and drink prices are good too. It is also next to the movie theater which makes it a great place to eat after the movie providing you have not over stuffed yourself on popcorn. Upon perusing the menu, I decide to have the classic single with fries and bottled water. I am glad that we did not go elsewhere. The employee was friendly and helpful. The burger was beyond my expectation. It had all the fixings that I loved. Yum! Bomb-diggity good. This was definitely a solid burger and amazingly, the hamburger buns did not get soggy. I usually will toss a half-eaten burger because it loses its appeal. Not the classic single from Rockit Char Grill. I ate the whole thing. Even the French fries were perfect - not greasy, not overly salty, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. I know one thing. There will be future visits to Rockit Char Grill. They specialize in huge hamburgers and exotic french fry dishes. If you are on a diet, this is probably a good place to avoid. I ordered the Smoky chicken sandwich for about $10. I was surprised at how complete it was with many veggies, cheese, and bacon. They also have a few more selections on top as well as in models. So overall pretty good experience. My wife and I went to a movies down the street. We're walking by and noticed the pictures on their windows of the food that they offer. My wife likes salads and I saw a club sandwich. I had not had one in a while and thought it would be fine. I asked what beers they had. They gave me the name of two. I thought that was kind of funny restaurant only had two. Best burger place in Hayward!!! We ordered a chicken sandwich, a cheeseburger with bacon and garlic fries. The burger was cooked to perfection, it was amazing. The chicken sandwich was loaded with fresh avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, fresh onion and juicy grilled chicken. The garlic fries were amazing, 100x better than the ones you get at the garlic festival. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The establishment was very clean and I noticed they take extra precautions to help prevent the spread of covid. All the employees were wearing a mask and gloves and the restaurant was very clean. During the time we were there they came outside to sanitize the tables and the outdoor area in general. Tried Rockit char grill last night while my partner and I were out running errands pics looked good from the reviews so we rolled the dice and gave this place a shot. First off, let me warn you that this place is kind of expensive (I guess everything is nowadays), so I was shocked when ordering we were charged $1 for grilled onions. Grilled onions!!! Second our total was almost $40 for two burgers, onion rings, garlic fries, and two sodas! Whatever, I am imagining this place must serve high quality burgers and with good ingredients. Yes to the IMPOSSIBLE BURGER! I'm so glad they have it here! I remember having this at The Counter and liking it but I was turned off because it was over $20. We did add avocado and egg to the burger but still, I don't think a burger is worth more than $20. What I like here: - The Impossible Burger is delish! I'm not even a burger person but I find myself craving this burger sometimes. - Their garlic fries are yummy! They're tasty and loaded with lots of minced garlic. - My hubby and I share the Impossible Burger and fries when we are not too hungry and it's a perfect amount for us.
