It's always clean in here. They always get the order right. The blonde woman knows the menu very well and is always willing to help with recommendations. They have hot coffee and a variety of sodas, juices, teas. I usually get the Reuben pastrami sandwich or the club sandwich. They got a huge variety of sandwiches and bagels. They also have some options for breakfast burritos and more. read more

This review is just for the pathetic sandwich that the older lady made for me today. I ordered a turkey with pepper jack, I'm assuming she doesn't know the difference between regular and pepper jack because this isn't pepper jack. Also she only put 2 thinly slices of turkey meat, I mean come on, you charge $12.00 for this crap? All their other sandwiches on yelp show a good amount of meat in their sandwiches, just not mine. Very disappointed. read more

Winton Deli - A slice and half of turkey meat, pathetic!! Talk about getting ripped off.. - Delis Near Me - Hayward, California

Went in there to order the Reuben sandwich the deli meat was repulsive. Felt like prison food, will not return. Took two bites of the sandwich and left , did not finish sandwich. I suppose if you were starving, it's bearable. Definitely will not return and have no clue how they get high ratings on Yelp. read more

We love their breakfast burritos! THE. BEST. Just a few mins away from us so its still nice and warm. One note though, they need to label the orders properly especially for those who have food preferences. But all in all good food read more

My dad was craving sandwiches for a quick lunch so I thought it was finally time to check out Winton Deli. This deli is hidden in the industrial part of Hayward so it's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. It looks like their main customer base would be people who work around here anyways. Tip for anyone who uses google maps to get here from Hesperian: you don't have to go around all the lefts/rights they tell you. Just keep going down Winton until you eventually turn left into the lot. The deli itself is super spacious. There's a coffee counter in the middle but it wasn't open when I stopped by around lunch and truthfully, it looks like it hasn't been open in a long time. There's tons of inside seating for anyone who might want to dine-in. You'll order at one "window" then pay at the end of the counter and you can pick up a drink and chips on the way. The menu is displayed behind the counter, but it was sort of hard to read (and kinda dirty). They also have a menu printed out at the register. I went with the Southwestern Chipotle Pesto Chicken (chicken breast, melted provolone, tomato, lettuce) and I got it on a dutch crunch instead of the sourdough roll. It was a good sandwich with fresh flavor, though I wasn't really getting much pesto or much chipotle. I also wish there was more meat... or at least more evenly distributed meat. As far as portions go, this isn't the biggest sandwich. It was enough to be satisfied, though, so maybe that's all you need! Prices are not too bad at about $8-9 per sandwich. I'd still return and next time I'll try a different sandwich! read more

Pics look better then actual sandwhich roll was great the bacon paper thin and give u tiny bit of meat bread to meat ratio way off

Decent food, but Victor needs to learn how to smile, and be more friendly. Zero personality!

Great, affordable spot for lunch! Tons of open seating and fast service. Huge variety.

The sandwiches were very underwhelming. Maybe it's just me but when I think of deli I am expecting MEAT! The three sandwiches I tried all had one layer of meat. Even though the bread was fresh, it was too much bread compared to the meat that was provided. The ratio was off. The plus side is that the sauce in the Ensenada Sandwich was really good. That was all. read more

Fresh ingredients and CHEAP!!! You heard me good quality sandwich that is cheaper than Subway. I came here after being so disappointed from Subway. It was the best decision I made, I have not been back to Subway. read more

Food and sandwiches are good, but they'll super slow with service. You can try and call in in the morning but they NEVER answer their phones. So frustrating. I don't even bother going there in the mornings anymore due to the long wait times to get food. Disappointing how they never answer their phone. Taking my business elsewhere.. read more

Love this place! Been here three days in a row. I'm lucky because it is on the way to work. Skip the terrible breakfast at the hotel, and stop here for anything on the menu. My first time I had the Del Mar Veggie Sandwich; avocado, cucumber, cream cheese, sprouts, tomato, onions, on sliced wheat. Still my favorite sandwich. Second time I had the Pesto Veggie Sandwich; pesto sauce, fresh spinach, avocado, tomato, provolone cheese, Hold the Mayo on toasted sour four. Third time I had the Santa Cruz Veggie sandwich; avocado, mushroom, Monterey and cheddar cheeses, lettuce, tomato, on marble rye bread. Had the vegetable beef soup on the side. The food is fresh and great. A+++ read more

I'd give a much higher review if they'd be a little more generous with their meat. Barely anything in the sandwich. They're definitely quick in making them. Just not very much meat. read more

Came here with a colleague for a quick bite as it is the go to place for sandwiches. The Del Mar and Santa Cruz sandwiches are delicious. The bread is extremely soft to where it almost melts as you take a bite. The veggies are fresh and the Tri Tip Sandwich on Thursday's are supposed to be amazing. The side pickle is also packed with flavor...can it be bigger? I do wish they served the sandwiches on paper plates instead of the to go plastic containers. Seems like so much waste. But I did see an employee taking them out of the recycling bin. Let's just hope he was taking them out to make more room and not to wash and reuse them. read more

I really enjoy their daily specials! It is something different everyday. Me and my fellow coworkers loooove their chicken ensenada! Literally that's all we always order from there when we are in the mood for a sandwich. Also, our whole facility is in looove with their chili, we always make sure we all get extra onions and cheese. I also enjoy the fact that they do provide free WiFi when dining in, once we allowed to dine in, I will be taking my hours lunches their for some peace and quiet. read more

Service is great.. food tastes great.. and the ambiance is peaceful to enjoy a sandwich or soup on break

Winton deli is one of my favorite spots for lunch! The food is really good and the staff are awesome! My favorite sandwich is hot pastrami on Dutch crunch! And their side pickle is delicious! Haven't been there for a while since the stay-in-shelter order! Hope they're all good and to see them soon! read more

I wanted to try this place out and I want to say first of all that this review will be redone at another time, as I think the choice of sandwiches I made...didn't work for me. But it wasn't the deli it was more about my taste buds. I went to this place and it is in an industrial area...but it got such wonderful reviews I had to try it. And it was about the "veggie" choices they had. And so I tried the pesto veggie and the sandwich tasted great except for the provolone cheese melted didn't work for me. I won't even go into it, because it is just about my personal taste. I will go back there again and try something different...but the place is clean and the staff is great and friendly! read more

I came here at the reccomendation of my co-worker and I could not have been more underwhelmed. I ordered the Club Sandwich for $6.99 and what I got was 1 slice of Turkey, 1 slice of ham, and 1 slice of bacon on bread that was even cheaper than wonderbread. When I got back to the office everyone except the one who recommended told me this has been the case when they went. Wish I would have asked around first.... The soup was okay so it's not a one star but I will definitely not be coming back for an overpriced, undersized and generally sad sandwich read more

Winton Deli - Sad club sandwich. Could make this from stuff at Safeway for maybe $2-3 - Delis Near Me - Hayward, California

I return to this deli time after time. Why? Because of the ease and non-drama that usually occurs there while attempting to obtain the mid-day sando. This place does get busy right before 12 Noon for a straight hour. No lie! Their prices are reasonable, and the staff is quick and efficient in their ability to rip through the orders. They seldom get backed up with too many orders, which might happen at other venues during the mid-day crush of hangry customers. Not here. Their sandwich game is really strong. Exceptionally fresh sandwich rolls. Generous toppings with sensible amounts of slathered condiments applied. I usually just order the standards: Roast Beef, Turkey, etc. My fav however is their Poorboy. Delish! They have a vast selection of specials too. They offer enough of a selection that their customers can walk in and get something different which might tickle the taste buds almost every time. I have yet to have gotten a poorly made sandwich from them. That's called consistency, folks! read more

My fiancé recommended this restaurant. He ate here yesterday and really enjoyed his food. He got the veggie pesto. So today I went on yelp and ordered, which is always easy and convenient to do; I, too, ordered the veggie pesto. As I arrived, the first thing I noticed was the cleanliness; which was very clean and open. The customer service was very pleasant! Smiles, attentive, and polite. Walked in and out within 2 mins! The veggie pesto was very yummy!! Perfectly toasted sour dough, plenty of spinach, and not messy. I really enjoyed my food and would definitely return. read more

Customer service here sucks but the food is pretty good. I ordered online, said it would be ready in 10min. I got there 15min later and they hadn't started making my order yet. There were about 4-5 people who came in and ordered while I was waiting and they were served before me. read more

Just tried the Breakfast Burrito. Entire burrito was HOT but the potatoes were ICE COLD. WTFFF?

This is what I consider the far side of Hayward. During lunch time instead of eating like I should have I had to go deliver something to someone on the outskirts of Hayward. Once my emergency delivery was complete I left the "looking up of food choices" up to the Ol' GPS System. The first thing to pop up was the Winton Deli, and I said F-it, lets go. Its located in a business park of box type warehouse businesses. Not where you would exactly expect a deli to be located. Walking in the first thing I noticed was how exceptionally clean it was in there. I could have eaten off the floor and had less germs in me than I did before. That's how clean it is in here. Two guys were working behind the counter and one was mopping an already spotless floor. I walked up and read the menu while the guys just stared at me. I settled on The Reuben, only to find they were out of Rye Bread. I had them make it on a soft roll instead. They make the sandwich right there but kind of under a counter so you cant see exactly what their doing. It took a minute for it to be done. I got it to go and it was wrapped on one of those Styrofoam trays that meat comes on in the super market. It was nice and warm like a Reuben should be. When I got to my car and started devouring it I noticed it wasn't exactly what I look for in a Reuben but it was hitting the spot. There was a weird sauce on it that I cant explain. If I was stuck out in the nowheresville of Hayward again I would definitely come back and try one of the their other sandwich options. read more

First off, I agree with most of the more recent reviews. I do believe Winton Deli is improving and shows a lot of effort, which is why I'm choosing to write this review. I also work close by and come here when I'm pressed for time. For the sandwiches, the Turkey Delight is a standard. The Chicken Pesto was also very tasty! However, this morning I craved a breakfast burrito and debated between the "roach coach" or the deli. Since the sandwiches have been good, I tried the deli. I ordered their breakfast burrito, but substituted the ham or sausage for bacon, no hot sauce. It definitely was not what I expected. I'm grateful they didn't just throw a strip of bacon in the mix, they actually chopped it up. The tortilla was definitely soft and good (probably the best part of the order), but the salsa was not the greatest (tasted on the sour side) and the egg was a little undercooked. I do understand the price was only $3.99, but I've never had a burrito this small, except for the frozen ones you buy at the grocery store. I'll continue to support Winton Deli for their sandwiches, but it's a no go on breakfast burritos. read more

I should've asked what came on the sandwiches b/c I don't like mustard & whoops, my club came w/ mayo & mustard... The owner was so kind to make it right & fix it, even though it was my fault to not ask for mustard. That's above & beyond, if u ask me. I've eaten here before and they're really friendly and the food is pretty good for your run of the mill deli. Their salads are also quite generous, too. It's super close to my office in Hayward so I think I'll be visiting this place more often...I'm a fan. read more

This place gets an A+ for presentation! Ordered online through the Yelp app just a Reuben sandwich after reading other reviews about how good it was. I must admit, the sandwich is really good, but I have a few suggestions. First off, there was not enough dressing, needed just a little more and it could have been warmer. That being said, the togo presentation was perfect, kept the bread nice and toasted so it didn't get soggy. Also, all of the ingredients were not over done, which is a high potential of a Reuben sandwich, so that was great, didn't have kraut falling out all over the place. The sandwich was however on the small side, I should have ordered a combo or a side potato salad, cause I'm still hungry. I'll give this place another good, it was really tasty. read more

I go to this deli often since I work at one of the neighboring business, like most of the people that eat here. Their staff usually consists of 3-4 people that make the sandwiches and 1 person to ring up the orders. The sandwiches usually only take a few minutes to make so by the time you get to the cashier, your sandwich will be ready to take. The deli is kept pretty clean and there are plenty of table to choose from. There are occasionally a few boxes stored in the former bar area and the television is in need of being updated, but the deli is still in good shape. read more
