Favorite Deli Ever! Their hand crafted sandwiches are all made so delicately and generously. I've been coming here for the last 2 years now and it's a bit of a drive for me but I would always make time for it because it's so worth it! The workers there are so nice and gives great recommendations. I may have tried almost everything there but my favorite is pastrami and ham sandwich with lettuce, onion, Mayo, bell paper and jalapeño on a Dutch Crunch! Yum! Make your visit, I promise it's worth it! Not too pricey and sandwich is pretty big..

Roast beef was basically half fat

Old bread, roast beef was pretty much 50% fat. Not even close to worth the money and when you go to pay the guy points down at the tip options and tells you to pick one, pushing you to give them a tip. Terrible place, never again.

Roasted turkey bacon avo on a sourdough roll... Yum. Been a customer since their old location.. We order here for all of our business meetings. Tried other places.. Everytime everyone says what about that really great place down the street? And then im back@pick a deli!! They even have delivery!

Great place. I have been going for quite a few years and today I checked out their new place. They moved about 4 minutes from where they used to be and this place is a lot bigger. It's very clean looking and there is a lot more parking than their previous place. Everyone that works here is always super nice. It makes me happy to support their business. I love their tuna sandwiches. I have had the turkey as well and they are also great. Sandwiches come with 2 olives and a pickle. If you are on a diet and looking for somewhere nearby to eat healthy, Pick-A-Deli has an awesome salad bar. It has a lot of variety of vegetables and other "salady" ingredients and they offer small or large containers to make your own salad. I think the small is plenty big and when I got it I was shocked that it was under $3. It was 2 something. I can't remember exactly how much. You can't beat that price to get a salad full of veggies and beans! Also, they take credit and debit cards and don't make you spend "x" amount of dollars before letting you use your card like other delis do. I think that's really convenient of them.

I love creating my own salad...w/ dressing on the side!

My friend at work wanted to go check this place out b/c a girl who works with us came back with this massive salad that she was able to make herself and it was only down the street from our office. I'm always up for anything and trying new places so we went with some other friends at work to try it. We almost passed it up b/c the driveway was kinda inconspicuous and small. We walked in with loads of smile and friendly greetings. The salad bar is definitely something to write about! They don't keep much out b/c they want to insure that everything is fresh so we asked for a few more items to be replenished and they did it with no problems. I liked that a lot. I love making my own salad. The ladies totally upsold me when they asked if I wanted grilled chicken for the salad so I said, sure! Keep in mind, they charge $2 extra for that, which they didn't disclose, but it wasn't a bad deal at all. It was 2 chicken breasts cut in slices and definitely added to my salad making it more exciting to eat. Another gal got a salad with me and the other two got sandwiches, which looked yummy, as well. I like that they are really nice and while we were eating, they came by to make sure everything was ok and we were doing fine. They also keep a really clean restaurant. I'll definitely come back to order a sandwich, but I am definitely a fan of the salad bar.

I saw this little sign that said "Pick-A-Deli" hanging off of a tree. Ill pick a deli because at that same moment my tummy was growling and I needed lunch. Its in a large commerical complex. From the outside its very devoid of character and seems very sterile to look at. Inside is a different story. A very mixed crowd of suits, grubby mechanic jumpsuits and yes my pretentious ass. The have a surprisingly nice menu and it was a very hard decision between the Large Salad bar option or the Roast Turkey Sandwich with Bacon and Avocado. I went with the Roast Turkey and Bacon option. They whip your sandwich up very fast. I was really put off by the clutter of the place. Clutter on the counters, clutter near the tables, clutter behind the counter, clutter near the register. The floors were also filthy. Honestly thats my only complaint. My sandwich was a delight. I liked the bread and thats all the really matters to me. I would probably go back again if I was in the area. The car dismantlers near by are kind of cool to look at while you sit in the car and eat your sandwich. I cant imagine very many people will venture out to this industrial area for lunch but if you happen to be out here stop by.

    Amazing Sandwiches!!!

Parking is always tight in this plaza, but I got lucky on a Saturday afternoon. Bara's was poppin when I walked in. Ordering is quick, the menu is extensive, but the man taking my order was so patient. I went with their Bara's combo special with all the fixin's and had to get their dutch crutch. I love that you can choose the bread, and the Bara's combo is great since you can choose your meat/proteins. Turkey and roast beef were juicy and flavorful. Plus their meats are all halal! Every single ingredient was fresh and high quality. The flavors were unmatched. And the bread was perfectly airy and crunchy, without scraping my entire roof of my mouth. It's embarassing I used to get Ike's when there's sandwich spots like Bara's. They have a whole drinks section, chips, and an open deli display case. There's tons of inside seating, great for coworkers, families, or solo dining. No outdoor seating unfortunately. Most of the waiting time is after you order, so allot a solid 15mins, even if you're just waiting for your one order. Bara's is also Palestinian-owned. So not only are you getting a delicious, HUGE portion'd, but fresh meal, you are also knowingly pouring your hard earned money and labor into supporting a local family-owned business. Everything we do has a footprint, including the businesses you choose to support and eat at. Go forth Bara's!

We noticed two self-service ordering kiosks to the right but decided to check out the menu board and salad case first. When we were done, the cashier asked if she could take our order. That's always my preference over poking buttons on a impersonal screen. We placed our order, paid, and stood aside to wait. My name was called when our order was ready. It was bagged and ready to go. We thanked the cashier and went home. Normally, I'm not a sandwich guy. Today, after working outside in the sun, I was hungry and had a craving for something filling and cold. Macaroni Salad was on my mind. I looked that up on Yelp and Bara's was reasonably close. I also saw a Shrimp Salad that looked pretty good online. When we arrived home, I proceeded to take pictures of our meal. Sigh. Instead of Macaroni Salad, we got Potato Salad. Not quite the same. A quick peek at my receipt and I saw that the wrong key must have been pressed. I should have checked my receipt after I paid. The cashier should have repeated the order before sending it. The Potato Salad didn't satisfy my craving for Macaroni Salad, but I wasn't about to drive back to exchange it. The flavor was unique though, in that it had a cheesy flavor. The Shrimp Salad was not good. Flavor wise, it was okay with a little bit of heat. But texture wise, it was a mess. If Shrimp was supposed to be cooked for two minutes and then dropped into an ice bath, these had been cooked for four minutes and not iced. They were cooked to death. I got a Bay Area Special with Swiss. It was okay. A ton of meat, not so much on the veg. I would prefer more balance. But overall, it was pretty good. She got The Gobbler. She also felt that the meat overwhelmed the veg. Additionally, the cranberry sauce was overwhelmed by the cream cheese. We came, we saw, we ate. It'll be a long while before I go after another sandwich.

I walked into this deli today hungry and wanting something very simple: a turkey sandwich on whole wheat. Instead of being greeted by a person behind the counter, I was directed to a kiosk. The kiosk was surprisingly limited and frustrating to use. I could not find an option for a basic turkey sandwich without scrolling through a long list of pre-built combinations that did not work for me. There was no easy way to customize and no visible option to simply order something straightforward. What made it worse was the complete absence of human interaction. There was no opportunity to ask a question or clarify an order. It felt transactional in the worst way. I was not alone. The couple next to me also gave up and left without ordering. We all walked out without ever speaking to a single person. If you are going to replace staff with kiosks, at least make the system intuitive and flexible. Sometimes people just want a simple sandwich and a quick, human exchange. I ended up leaving hungry and disappointed..

I ordered a tuna sandwich with everything on Dutch crunch bread, along with some Harvest Cheddar SunChips and a Strawberry Kiwi Snapple. Let me tell you--the sandwich was excellent. The tuna tasted fresh, the lettuce and tomatoes were crisp, and that Dutch crunch bread brought it all together. Every bite was on point. Easily one of the best deli sandwiches I've had, especially from an independently owned spot. The place itself has a great old-school vibe. Lots of photos on the walls and even some Raiders memorabilia, which gives it a real local feel. When I got there, there were a few people ahead of me, so I waited about 10-15 minutes, but it was worth it. You can tell they're making everything fresh. There were about 4-5 people working behind the counter, and even though they were busy, they were still friendly, engaging, and interacting with customers, which I liked. The lady at the register was also very nice and welcoming. They've got a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. I've tried a few over the years, but next time I might go for something like the Chicago-style meatball sandwich. If you're in Alameda on Webster Street and want a fresh, high-quality sandwich, this is the spot. Perfect for grabbing something to go and heading over to the park or the beach on a nice day.
