location redwood road- fresh pizza, nice people, and great service! Pretty clean inside as well.

The best pizza around! This is my hometown pizza place! BJ the owner is like a family friend to everyone in Castro Valley! They have the best pizza around and we get pizza from them like once a week! It's always hot and fresh whenever we get it delivered or picked up. I'm simple I like a pepperoni pizza and pizza express has the best! Their garlic twist sticks are also so good! I have never had a bad experience at pizza express. I can't say enough good things about Pizza Express! read more

The pizza was very good. We came in, ordered a half cheese and half Mexican pizza. Took about 15 minutes and we were on our way home. The pizza is very good. We waited inside and watched as the family's grandma was shredding blocked cheese, the mom was fixing veggies, and the sons were operating the oven. Truly a family-owned place with fresh ingredients, you couldn't ask for more than that. Will be making this a regular option for pizza so long as they keep using fresh ingredients. And don't sleep on this Mexican pizza, it was very good. read more

Pizza Express - Half cheese half Mexican pizza - Pizza Near Me - Castro Valley, California

Little hole in the wall pizzeria that has been around for decades. Wonderful, down-to-earth service. As I was eating, one of the guests had come in with an issue and I overheard the owner genuinely extend his concerns and fixed the problem. Ordered the 'By The Slice' garlic chicken pizza and boy did it satisfy my most intense of pizza hankerings. I mean everything I could ever want in a slice: crust that was crispy to the bite, quality-cheesiness, fresh tomatoes and onions, an abundance of chicken! Around $10 for a huge slice. That pizza did not stand a chance against me. I would even go as far to say that this place is better than spots in New York! Pizza Express, please don't ever change. read more

This is my 6th visit at this small own business. I would just like to show appreciation for consistency of the taste of the pizza from this restaurant. My family and I will drive from Tennyson to Castro valley just for this pizza. We order simple pizza but the taste and dough is always a 10/10. They are super clean I always see the staff whom are making the pizzas constantly washing their hands and the store is clean inside. Support this small business if you're local in town you wouldn't be disappointed. read more

Pizza Express - Large chicken tikka masala and cheese Breadsticks - Pizza Near Me - Castro Valley, California

I ordered a large meat-lovers pizza with a small Caesar salad and was satisfied. The people were courteous. Avoid the Caesar salad if you're expecting kale, Parmesan cheese or a wedge salad. This one's just a regular salad with Caesar dressing. They gave a heads-up on that, so I have no complaints, just passing along the tip. I was surprised the two items cost $40, but I was satisfied with the taste and the amount of leftovers I had for a second meal. I was told the order would take 25 minutes but the pizza was ready in 15 minutes! read more

Alright I've gotten delivery from this place a few times and it's been on point every time. Chewy crust, not too thick, good quality toppings, love the tomato basil sauce... and with a stuffed crust/stuffed dough option, sheesh. Great sizes and quality especially for the prices, and I love that you can get up to an 11 topping of your choice supreme option for any size they sell, and only for a couple bucks more than the 3/4 topping options (Also love that they put plenty of toppings on but also don't overload the pizza...I'm a firm believer that too much on top can ruin a good pizza). Only downers is getting cheese on it is technically considered a topping on the customs, and apparently there's a secret chicken tikka masala pizza you just cant get through ordering takeout or delivery on Yelp :P but the pizza is so good, and I understand not everyone wants cheese and has to pay for it anyway only to have to request to take it off; I just couldn't downgrade the rating for that with a straight face, that's just a personal preference. But dying to try the masala pizza.... Tried my first dessert here, the pizza cookie; half of it didn't make it from the door to the counter, crispy and gooey chocolate chip, this was just done so right. Easily my new favorite pizza delivery place around, cheese charge aside lol. read more

Went here for a school fundraiser for the fist time and the tikka and garlic cheesebread tastes great!

We usually love this place, but yesterday we had a bad experience. We had company over and ordered ahead. They said it would take about 25 mins, but it took two hours to arrive. I understand that things happen sometimes, but two hours is crazy. They also forgot the soda we ordered, extra jalapeños, and third topping on one of the pizzas. read more

Pizza Express - Hawaiian pizza with pepperoni and jalapeño - Pizza Near Me - Castro Valley, California

Ordered through door dash on a Saturday night. They close at midnight so I was glad I was still able to order, cut off for online ordering is at 10:45pm. I always pass this place on redwood rd, it looks like a quaint pizza place. I was going to order papa John's but decided to give this place a try. The pizza arrived timely within 30 minutes which was impressive. We ordered 1 medium 2 topping pizza (pepperoni and jalapeño). First thing I noticed was the pizza box was not sealed, no seal at all, which is very uncommon nowadays with the popularity of delivery services especially with meal delivery. We indicated to add utensils and condiments on the order, when it arrived, there were no cheese or pepper packets. It's fine as I always keep some in stock at the house. Now the pizza was flavorful, plenty of cheese, but the toppings were not generous. I will show the expectation vs reality photo. They even burnt one side of the pizza. Hopefully it was just an off night because I really wanted to like this place. I'm willing to give them another chance and maybe order the garlic chicken pizza everyone is raving about. read more

The pizza is one of the best we've had. Great dough, somewhere in the middle between New York and California sourdough style. We ate all the crust. The toppings were excellent as was the sauce. Spousal unit even commented that the mushrooms were fresh not canned. The owners son was on duty. We had a great conversation. His service was excellent as well. We came here around 11pm. We hadn't eaten dinner because of an early volunteer gig. This place was open so we gave it a try. It's unfortunate we don't live close enough for delivery or even pickup. We'll definitely go there when we're in the neighborhood. BTW the late night customers are hysterically funny. We ate outside at the one available table. There's a smoke shop next door so a lot of coming and going. A shout out to the people who came after the 49er game and were driving back to Stanislaus. Hope you made it home safe. read more

AMAZING!!! THIS PLACE ROCKS!! I had garlic chicken slice. It was fully loaded with extra toppings. The service was excellent.

Nice golf's and yummy pizza. I go there all the time, but I haven't tested delivery. Menu focuses on pizza; not sandwiches or other items.

The pizza is always good. Service was about 10 to 15 minutes because we did a walk-in order a mini pepperoni and cheese for my granddaughter and a slice of Hawaiian pepperoni and sausage. I love pizza fresh ingredients even cool desserts. The ambience was great. It was nice and peaceful in their quietlight music is really awesome. Ehh you get what you pay for, cheese is definitely the cheapest sour mozzarella and over added. You can definitely taste the difference between cheese. Kind of taste like Costco pizza _ nothing special. Too much cheese the crust can hold. Delivery was fast. Pizza was piping hot. - probably won't order here again. read more

Always abundance of toppings...clean outdoor seating indoor also. Friendly staff.. worth it.

Fantastic pizza. I keep forgetting to review but my neighbor asked me the other day where I got our pie. This crust is the perfect ratio between dough and toppings. They don't skimp on the cheese and it just tastes fresh and fantastic. It seems to be family run or something. The older gentle man has always been extra kind to me too. It's my go to place for a big pie or when I go grocery shopping at TJ and I am too lazy to cook. read more

Food: Was pretty good. However, they got our crusts mixed up in the kitchen. I got 2 slices of chicken cheese pizza with curry sauce and the slices were so large!! Good tomato basil sauce too! The garden salad was also wonderful. Service: Was alright. We did doordash to our hotel so that made the delivery time a little long, but we only waited like 30-ish minutes. Good pie here with huge sizes. The main appeal for Pizza Express was the size of their pies. The King Kong combo fed about 4 of us with a total of 16 slices. This place is my go to for pizza. However, I called last night to order my pizza for my kid's birthday celebration at school. I know they open at 11 am and I called to see if they can make an exception since they have done so in the past to have my pizza delivered early. I arrived at 10:45 am at the agreed time. What a great disappointment! The pizza wasn't even started. They already had their doors open helping others with their pizza in the oven. He kept saying it's almost done just give me 10 minutes. It's been 10 minutes and it isn't even in the oven. I was supposed to be at 11am at the school. Now I'm going to be there late. I should have just gone to Costco. The guy keeps saying sorry just give me 10 but sorry doesn't get me at the school on time. read more
