I had a great experience here! I ordered the Cowboy pizza along with the lemon wings and fries. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They don't normally offer thin crust, but when I asked, they made the pizza as thin as possible, and it came out exactly how I hoped. The Cowboy pizza was delicious with the perfect amount of sauce, and all the ingredients tasted fresh. The large is a true large. The lemon wings were outstanding, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The fries were a pleasant surprise. You wouldn't expect fries at a pizza place to be this good, but they were excellent. My dad is very picky about his fries, and he loved them. I ordered pick up, but the place looked clean and nicely decorated. I'll definitely be back and plan to try one of their combo meals next time. Highly recommend! read more

My partner has been a long time customer of Red Apple Kitchen. We called around 8 PM on a Saturday night, and spoke to Jay who took our order. He's so friendly and silly, and made a great recommendation for the bacon mac and cheese. Takeout was quick and food was hot and fresh. I didn't walk in, but the place seemed very homey and welcoming with nice lighting and clean tables. As for the food...I would tolerate my lactose intolerance for this mac and cheese. It is perfect. There is a kiosk for ordering so you can easily order without looking up at the board if you have limited visibility. It was pretty much a 1 man show & he handled everything beautifully. Orders: Chicken Wings for appetizer w/a side of salad. This was a well seasoned appetizer but my piece had a bit too much salt. Other than that the chicken had a crispy coat of seasoning with a side of ranch dressing. Pizza's Mama's Favorite Pizza-arugula, spinach, white sauce w/added maple bacon was undeniably fresh. The 1st bite was tell tale of how thoughtfully curated the chef was. The ingredients so fresh, it's like having your personal chef in your own kitchen. I'm updating my review from 5 stars to 1 star. It seems there's been a change in ownership, and the service quality has plummeted. The staff is unprofessional and unreliable. My wife's pickup order was delayed by over an hour past the scheduled time, and they refused to issue her a refund. Despite her repeated attempts to cancel in person and through the app, the staff kept lying to the third-party app, claiming the food was ready when it clearly wasn't. Only one staff member was working, appeared to be under the influence, and random people seemed to be hanging out in the back room that didn't appear to be staff. The food quality was equally appalling (see pictures). Needless to say, I won't be returning. Update - I received a refund finally through the app but won't be coming here again. read more

We have come here twice over the last few weeks and have really enjoyed their unique menu and pizzas. The first time we came here we ordered a large pizza that was half pepperoni and half garlic chicken. We also ordered a side of Mac and cheese. The next time we came, we ordered the mango habanero chicken wings, a strawberry salad, garlic cheese bread, and a small pepperoni pizza. Everything was fresh and delicious. The pizza had a moist interior yet crispy crust. And the wings had good flavor, very tender but crispy. It was nice the wings came with fries topped with cheese. The salad had very sweet strawberries too. The owner is very kind and works very hard managing his restaurant. I've only seen him the times we've visited and he makes time to chat with his customers. He seems very passionate about the food he makes, and it shows in his food. He changes his menu every so often so it would be smart to double-check is website's menu, which might be different than the menus posted on Yelp. We actually were using Yelp for the menu but when we called his menu was different and he was kind to walk us through the different items he was offering and no longer offering. Friend and I enjoyed catching up at Red Apple Kitchen this afternoon over pizza outside! Restaurant a bit hidden so we most likely wouldn't have heard of it if not for Yelp. We shared a 10 inch build your own half veggie and half pepperoni. Very tasty and not expensive at all. So easy to order on the kiosk. Some of the tables outside were dirty but they were cleaned quickly when I told the person working at the counter. He was so nice and quick to take care of our needs. The pizza was brought out quickly! Though my friend didn't bring her dogs this time, we liked that outdoor seating is available. Was this place in San Leandro this whole time?! We ordered the red apple pizza, the roasted Brussels sprouts, the cheesy garlic bread and the sausage farfelle online for pick up. When we arrived, my husband went inside to pick up the order. When he came out, he said that the guy who helped him inside was very friendly and hilarious. Now, the food. Damn- delicious. Especially the Red Apple Pizza. I wish we ordered a large instead of just a small lol. I've always loved a good cream sauce pizza. The salty bacon with the sweet caramelized onion & apple shavings tasted amazing together. With the generous amount of arugula on top, you can even tell yourself that it's healthy (that's what I did anyway)! Will definitely order again (probably soon) and highly recommended! read more

This spot recently switched owners. The new owner is very nice. The menu prices for pizza, salad, wings, and appetizers is the most affordable I've seen in a while. My group came in 10 minutes before closing and the owner still took our order. The mango habanero wings were really good. It came with a house made sauce. The coleslaw was light on mayo so I recommend trying it if you're not a big mayo person. Next time I come I will try the salad, Mac n cheese, a different wing, and another pizza. But we decided to get a build your own pizza (to go), a LARGE with salami, mushrooms & roasted garlic. It was VERY large and only $25! It was AMAZING! Nice & not too thick with hot, dripping cheese like NY pizza. This will be our go-to pizza spot from now on, and it's nearly 10 minutes out of our way. My wife loves the Momma's Favorite Pizza so she sent me back here for the second time. Today I ended up chatting with Chef Jay and the quick exchange revealed a couple things to me. He cares about his food quality. He was asking if I had eaten the pizza with the arugula in the box or on the side. He was concerned that keeping the arugula on top of the pizza was making it soggy by the time it got home. He also just seemed like a genuinely cool person. He had a big smile and brought the food outside where I was waiting instead of calling me in. It just seemed like he wanted to connect with his customers. It was a downtime so I'm sure he can't do that all the time but I appreciate his cheerful attitude. He also took the time to introduce himself and get my name. I wanted to give this place a try due to the raving reviews and pictures. I ordered multiple pizzas and they were all very dry and burnt. You can't really taste much but the burnt dough. I want to give this place another try but it's hard given the quality of the pizza that we just had. During pick up I didn't notice anyone inside the restaurant dining in. Ordered take out from here for the first time and wasn't super impressed. We got the Red Apple pizza, Brussels sprouts, and mango habanero wings. Pizza crust was DELISH and I would go back just to try a different pizza, but the red apple toppings were a miss. Apples were huge slices with the skin still on, wish they were thinner slices and peeled. Overcooked dry onions. No bacon, instead it was covered in giant slices of ham that were hard to eat. Also no dressed mix on top! Seems like they forgot what pizza they were making?? Wings were fatty and skin was thick and undercooked. Wish they were crispier. Sauce was good and VERY spicy. Brussels were undercooked and flavorless with mushy onions and peppers. Wish they were crispy and didn't include the extra veg. We will probably return to try another pizza, and hopefully get the right toppings?? I know they are under new management so maybe they'll figure some of this out along the way. read more

I don't know what happened but in order for a business to succeed and survive consistency is imperative. I ordered the garlic bread and grilled Brussels sprouts but the food was no way near as good as it was the first time. "Garlic bread" was obviously those frozen bread sticks with congealed cheese on top at an attempt to make it look good. They were also burnt on the bottom. The Brussels sprouts were burnt and hard, very unappetizing. I actually had to throw these items out as they weren't even edible. I really hope they step up their game and make a better effort.
