I've been to a few other Nick the Greek and have always been pleased but tonight fell short. To no fault of the friendly and helpful staff, I appreciated their service, but the food was Off. I ordered the Gyro bowl with beef/lamb meat. First the rice was undercooked and crunchy and there was way too much sauce overpowering everything else. Bummer because I have ordered this in the past and it was delicious. Another odd thing is that this location does not serve and beers or hard seltzers, which many other location do. I was curious and asked but the cashier did not know either. Oh well. I will probably stick with a different location next time. read more

Been here a few times. Tonite, i got their bowl with lamb/beef gyro and it was fantastic! Everything was fresh and tasty. The sauces were a bit spicy for my liking but it was great that I could choose to have the sauce on the side. The lamb/beef was super tender. Nick the Greek is usually pretty consistent with the food. So hopefully that is the case because we haven't gotten home to eat our food. So I'm sure it's pretty decent. The atmosphere was great very clean great restaurant. Today is Sunday, March 8, 2026. The time is 3:50 PM. My experience with the cashier (Sierra ) was not the greatest! she had a really bad frown on her face and a seemed to be negative attitude. I would just maybe talk to her or maybe some training for customer service I seen her attitude towards her coworkers and possibly a friend that was dining in and her attitude was great towards them. She was talking to one of the cooks in the restaurant and seemed to have a great attitude towards him. But for whatever reason had a really bad attitude with me, the customer. She was very standoffish. I had to ask for sauce which she should've offered. She did not. I asked for sauce. She only gave me two I asked for a few more if she charged me five dollars, which is OK I understand. But did not offer any utensils or napkins and I'm dining out. When I ask for napkins, she referred me to the napkin counter for people who are dining in part of her job description is to provide basic necessities when people are dining out she should not refer me to the dining Inn napkins succession. She just had a horrible all-around attitude. read more

Very rude female cashier! Asked her three times "Can I also order some yogurt sauce?", and she said the gyro comes with mustard sauce. (Which I knew) Then I looked down and saw a cooler with two types of yogurt sauce and explained that I'd like one of those. Bad attitude and seemed like she was not listening. Chose not to eat there as wouldn't trust them with my food with that kind of attitude. read more

Solid Greek eatery in Castro valley shopping center. I stopped by for dinner as I was in the area and found it to be clean and well run. I ordered the pork belly gyro which was superb, and a good value. Since my first visit, I have returned with family and we had a consistently good experience in both the food quality and the cleanliness and service offered. We tried their breakfast burrito with brisket, their meat omelette and pancakes. It was such a great experience and it being 100% halal was just the cherry on top. I want to come back to try their lunch and dinners too!

If you are tech savvy the do have an app or online order option. Bad news. Sterile, with no tables to sit out. It's a gran and go place, so don't expect to sit and enjoy any atmosphere. Not a knock, a valid choice, but know before you go. It's busy, and the staff always seem stressed by that. So, it's popular but don't expect staff to provide much help with that huge selection. They get the job done and all, nice people I'm sure, but yeah, atmosphere is not the priority.
