We come here every time we are in town. Their coffee is fantastic and they have tons of alt milks that they make. Macadamia is my fave.

My husband is a big big huge fanatic of this place, and rightfully so. It's unfortunate that they are situated so closely to Starbucks because aren't we all so basic when it comes to drinking coffee. The fact that there is always a line in Starbucks and Sleeping Tiger is literally sleeping corroborates the previous sentence. I mean we all just hate single origin beans right? I'm not a coffee snob by any means, I just think people need to support the smaller shops because there is a lot of passion in the product and it is truly delicious! read more

This coffee was AMAZING! If I lived closer, I would drink this coffee everyday! I had an iced coconut latte and my cousin had a breve cappuccino. Both were delicious. The atmosphere was great and shred with a winery. Nice, clean private bathrooms and a neat rainbow tiger mural on the side of the building. It was great for a warm afternoon at the beach. I also like that you can choose to get a lid/straw/etc. not served to you with those things. read more

Found this place on yelp and was not disappointed. My fiancee had the nitro brew and the nitrogen made it so thick and creamy you barely needed milk/cream. I had the drip brew and was given a choice of which one- I went with what the coffee guy suggested and got an Ethiopian. it was wonderfully dark and with quality this high, you can definitely tell the different fruity, etc. notes of your coffee. Good location and they share with a winery. Would definitely return next time I'm in Carlsbad. read more

Sleeping Tiger Coffees is a small coffee shop with well known intentions. This shop designs not only as a quaint, hip place to grab a cup of brew but also a wine bar in the middle of Carlsbad central market. I really enjoy the walk here, it beats the heat of walking around the city and is far enough from the main stores to make it a happening little spot. 2.5 stars, rounded up because there's several things on the menu I want to try, though my first visit didn't exactly 'wow' me. I had a mocha, which wasn't quite strong enough. I don't know how to explain it; I'm no coffee expert but something was just missing. The low lighting and ambience were definitely geared toward the winery portion of this business. I prefer bright coffee shops as they help me perk up while I'm sitting there. I brought a book but kept it tucked in my backpack. I just wanted to take a nap here! Perhaps I'll sit outside next time. My barista was super chipper and friendly. Even though there was a girl behind the counter with him, it was a one-man show. This made for service to be a bit slow, but I noticed some of the female customers didn't mind- they were flirty and snapping pictures of him working. Overall, I want to try the Chem-x, Nitro and pour-over, but it might be a while. I'm still stuck on Revolution Roasters up the street. P.S.- The triple-stacked pallets of freight inside were distracting. Not everything was shrink wrapped properly or to the wood. There was even a pallet jack parked under one. It looked like they fused a storage warehouse next to the front of house. Love this place! Very nice and friendly staff. I come by here on the weekend and walk down the beach. The mocha tastes yummy! Great ambiance and they have some pastries to choose from if you want to sit down and eat. This review is strictly for the coffee shop and not the wine bar. I came here today with a friend for the first time and let me tell you, the customer service was so awful. The barista was the rudest person I have encountered recently. She was rude to the people in front of us and the person behind us. She also yelled at a patron who was there with her children. Yes, I understand that children need to behave but she could have addressed a little more pleasantly instead of screaming at the lady from across the restaurant. The barista was so unfriendly that even when calling out drinks, she had such attitude that almost everyone dining in there laughed in shock. Coffee was good and ambiance nice as well but really, to feel like you are an inconvenience to the people working there, not worth going back. Pity! read more

I've been here a few times and their coffee is one of my favorites! Starbucks is right next door, but how can that compare to craft coffee at a cheaper price?! I've got their vanilla bean latte before (1/2 sweet) and it will warm your soul! In the picture, I asked for a flat white with almond milk. It was just as delicious. Came by for coffee prior to having brunch in the Carlsbad village -- this is a nice little shop that shares a space with the Witch Creek Winery. They have a little lobby area inside with tables to sit at to either enjoy your coffee, wine, or both ;) We ordered the vanilla bean latte as that was the number one item on their list of popular items and it was pretty good -- I substituted mine with oat milk and I saw that they use Planet Oat oat milk which is one of my faves! The barista let me sample one of the homemade syrups before I committed to a flavor for my latte. She makes all the syrups and they offer some very unique flavors. I had her add cardamon to mine. The Vanilla Oat Milk Latte from here was probably the best I've ever had. I'm sad I ordered the smaller size. The pay Milk was so light and creamy. The vanilla was just enough, not too much. The barista was an absolute delight and very helpful. She suggested I try the oat milk with it and she did not disappoint. If you're in the Carlsbad Village area or have friends or family visiting, take them here before walking over to the beach. They have plenty of vegan options too and a beautiful Instagramable mural of their Sleeping Tiger just outside. read more

After a weekend at the Zoos my husband and I pulled into this place on Monday before our drive back home to LA. The reviews had us sold but to our misfortune we received nothing of the reviewed/talked about service and the guy didnt seem to have a care about being there. The atmosphere is shared with a winery which seems to cater to a much older crowd and seemed mildly dated with their decor and patio setting. There was also no food or sweets (at all) to pair with out coffees. The brew itself was OK (Ethiopia) but was served in cracked and dirty glass ware. If you're looking for great coffee you may want to consider going else where. read more

Won't come to Carlsbad without stopping here! I've had this place saved on my map for the longest and i finally got to try it out. I had a coffee called Misty Valley and it was honestly one of they best cups of coffee I've ever had. The beans had a vanilla blueberry taste that you were definitely able to smell and taste. Once you walk inside you're able to notice that the place is split into two. On The right side they sold coffee and on the left they sold wine so everyone inside were drinking different things which was interesting. Outside they have this beautiful painting of sleeping lions which was a big hit. Several people were stopping by to get a picture. Put signage up for reservations and large groups to reserve their area and prevent misunderstandings. I literally just left this establishment. I come most every Saturday morning to work for an hour on the patio. I wiped the dirty table down, set up my computer and got to work. A large group of women showed up on the patio and seemed to commandeer it. I felt the weight of their stares on me - a strong "um, we are here now, so you should leave" vibe. Little did I know they had the patio reserved for themselves. As someone who did my 15 years in the restaurant industry I know that signage of a reserved area is the norm. Obviously, I would have never taken the time to clean the filthy table and set all of my work things up if I'd known a party was coming. The group should have spoken to a manager/staff about politely and apologetically asking me to leave and the manager should have apologized to me (and them) for the lack of signage. And if those women who had the reservation see this, you could have "read the room" and dropped the condescending Karen vibes. How was I supposed to know you had a reservation??? My psychic skills need a full cup of coffee before they work. Do mistakes happen? Yes? But the women were rude and the staff didn't care. Could I have moved inside? No; my immune-compromised family has been outdoors for over 2 years now. Ruined Tiger for me, won't be back any time soon. Having to feel the weight of those women's condescending, "mean girls" stares was not the energy I needed today. read more

Just don't go here. The drinks were awful (we got an iced matcha latte and an iced hazelnut latte). The matcha had virtually no matcha in it and was extremely watered down. The hazelnut latte was oh-so sweet and virtually undrinkable. Both drinks ended up in the garbage can right outside the building. Also, the barista was rude and very unhelpful. On the bright side, the indoor seating was very cute. If you want a good cup of coffee or a fun latte, go a few miles north to Oceanside. We stopped by here because of the positive reviews we saw. I take my coffee black with no sugar while my wife gets her latte with oat milk. Unfortunately there was only one barista when we showed up and she had to take on everything on her own and the line was only getting longer. The "Hawaiian latte" my wife got was not bad but was not the greatest either, it was alright. The regular coffee I got was either old, burnt, or both. I threw it away after a couple of sips.
