After a great afternoon exploring the galleries, this was such a cool way to end the night! We got seated outside, so we had a great view of downtown, and there was a concert across the street, so we got a dinner and a show! Allie was our server, and she was so great! She was attentive, kind, and even gave us some hot tea to keep us warm since the heat lamps didn't work! She earned her tip for sure!! The food was honestly pretty delicious. For appetizers we had calamari, the crab cake, and the spinach artichoke with the potato chips. They were so good, we honestly didn't need the entrees, but my chicken milanesa was and crispy and tender, and the brussel sprouts were excellent. And the side quest cocktail was great, and I loved the museum insignia on the ice cube. Honestly, I'd love to come back and experience this again; the bar looked pretty cool to sit at! The only thing g holding me back from 5 stars was that it took a while to get our drinks and food because the bar was backed up; I'll chalk it up to this place only being opened recently. But all in all, an excellent night for us all.

Mac & Cheese

Great view of the city, lots of natural light, and nice quick bites. The menu isn't anything special: mostly American foods that can cater to any level of picky eater. I wouldn't say there was anything incredible that would make you have to wait hours on end from the standby list - I was shocked by how empty the restaurant was compared to how "booked out" the reservations were. It's worth a trip to see the view! My fav thing no lie was the Mac and cheese

This restaurant recently opened along with the new (as of late 2026) Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Exposition Park and is located on the top floor of the building which allows for some gorgeous views of the DTLA skyline. The inside is beautifully designed with lots of curvy lines and lots of wood. It feels like I walked into the holodeck on a ship in the Star Trek universe and asked for a nice upscale place to enjoy a meal. (Futuristic and classic at the same time). Really glad it felt universal and elegant versus leaning into something like the cantina at galaxy's edge (no fuzzy taun tauns here) The sense of hospitality here felt elevated from all the folks we interacted with from the hostesses to our servers, etc. The food: knowing that this restaurant will be visited by all types of folks from everywhere, the menu is modern American with lots of ingredients sourced from the Skywalker properties in Northern California. They have a nice cocktail menu as well as a good selection of spirits, wine, and beer. I believe they take walk-ins at the bar depending on how busy it is. I was lucky enough to make a reservation right when it was available for the same day of our scheduled museum visit. Reservation was for 1pm on a Saturday. We checked in at the ground floor of the building about 15 mins prior and went up the fast elevators to the fifth floor. Then we checked in with the hostesses to get seated. There was four of us so we ordered some cocktails and a bunch of food to share family style. I got the 'Main Character Energy' cocktail which was close to an Old Fashioned and I really enjoyed it! I thought the food was wonderful overall. Respectfully, there's nothing on the menu I'm gonna tell people to go specifically here for, but I really enjoyed everything I ate. Maybe we ordered well, but nothing was bad. And in terms of museums or other destination type venues like this, I would be very happy if they had a restaurant like this. We ordered: - Pigs in a blanket (I really enjoyed this app; comes with a side of mustard) - Crispy chicken Milanese - Chicken and mushroom crepe (most unique item meaning you don't see this dish as often as the others on menus) - Skywalker Ranch Wagyu burger - Charred broccolini Desserts - Basque Cheesecake - Citrus sundae (loved this more of the two desserts we had) Just a really cool restaurant aesthetically and with great hospitality and food. Again, I've been to restaurants in stadiums and other big venues and this is probably one of the best ones I've been to.

Tried the burger and it was very tasty. Would happily return. Beautiful views from the patio. Server was extremely friendly. Runner was young and needs some additional training as he kept trying to pick up our plates as we were still eating.

Was really excited to come here the second week they were open heard lots of good things about Skywalker Grill in Northern California so we were lucky enough to book a table here on a Friday night wasn't very packed, which is cool! The menu is decently sized but also a bit pricey. The space is beautiful and just like everything and the Lucas Museum no sharp corners whatsoever and hidden speakers. Service was less stellar as the servers came and picked up my old-fashioned before it was even time I had to signal to the server to return it because it was still about 1/4 of the way full. I ordered the Skywalker burger to a medium rare it unfortunately came out as medium maybe even slightly well done. The bread was thick and a bit dry unfortunately. The burger itself was pretty dry for a Wagyu burger. I've had Wagyu burgers and they're generally juicy, even if overcooked that's because of the high fat content it would appear. They burned out the fat content before it even got to my table. The fries, however, were stellar and the star of the dish as well as the aïoli that I asked for once it arrived, but had to ask at least three times from the server once again. I'll check this up to a new restaurant growing pains so I'll give it another shot and visit again in the future.

I was so excited to plan my visit around getting into this restaurant. And it did not disappoint. From the minute you enter you feel like you are in this relaxed atmosphere with the most gorgeous view! I loved where we sat to just soak up the view while we ate. To start we got the crab cakes and Skywalker chop salad. For drinks the Main character energy and plot twist. For main coarse my dad got the club sandwich while my mom and I shared the crispy chicken miileese. All of it was terrific. I can't even chose a favorite. Can't recommend enough what we got. Also, super accommodating to asking for items on this side. The service was top notch. This place is booked up for months. Not once did they rush you to try and get the next person in. The pace was great and appreciated. Can't wait to go back as the other appetizers looked so good you lit could just have your meal off that.

I originally planned to make a museum reservation, but it was fully booked that Saturday. Luckily, I was able to book Skywalker Grill instead, which allowed us to get same-day museum tickets! Apparently, this is a relatively new option if the museum is fully booked on the day of your visit. Located on the fifth floor, the Grill has a modern, upscale atmosphere with indoor dining and bar seating. The also offer outdoor seating on the patio with a decent views of the LA skyline. The menu offers a variety of options, including burgers, chicken tenders, and pasta. I ordered chicken tenders (comes with 5 pieces) to share and a mushroom and chicken crepe. Overall, the food was just okay. It was a bit too salty for my liking. Portions felt slightly small for the price, though not unreasonable considering the concept they were going for. Service was decent, with a few minor communication issues but the staff were friendly. Overall, it's a convenient dining option if you're visiting the museum, though the food could be better. Parking wasn't an issue since we opted for the paid parking.

We checked in at the museum at 10:30 am and got a walk in space at the bar around 3pm. The restaurant is very beautiful and the service was quick and as expected for a nice restaurant. The food was a little lacking and overpriced. I got the chicken and mushroom crepe 3/5 for $25 and it wasn't anything special and I felt like it could have been better seasoned. It seemed a little overcooked all around. Chopped salad 4/5 $27 it was fresh and I liked it more than the crepe French fries 3/5, nothing special A nice lady at the bar shared her brocolinni with us and that was actually really tasty and well cooked/ seasoned. I think it's overall worth going to one to see that area of the museum, but i wouldn't make special plans just to go there.

I felt very lucky to have nabbed a reservation for this restaurant on the same day as my visit to the museum. When I arrived at noon, the line was obscenely long but I'm not sure if that was also because there were people trying to put their name down for a walk-in visit. In any event, by the time it was my reservation (3:30pm), the line had died down and the restaurant was no longer taking any walk-ins. When I checked in, we took an elevator straight to the 5th floor and checked in again with the hostess. Everyone leading up to that was super accommodating and friendly. We sat down and ordered cocktails. Our waitress had a flat affect and did not really seem to be happy to be there. What we ordered: COCKTAILS - All very enjoyable! Beautifully made! Slow Burn ($22) - Super refreshing tequila drink! Main Character Energy ($22) - Reminded me of an old fashioned. Spirit forward! Plot Twist ($18) - Light and refreshing! Super yummy Night Shift ($18) - Slightly sweeter with notes of chocolate but reminded me of Main Character Energy FOOD Blue Crab Cake ($35)- WOW, was this yummy! It's a small portion but it is filled with crab. When I reflect on how much this was after the fact, not sure that it is worth the price tag. It is delish though. Classic Caesar Salad ($22) - No frills salad, but it was well done. Again, not sure it is worth the price tag for what you get, but I suppose it is the premium you pay for dining here. Grilled Salmon ($45) - I enjoyed this dish a lot more than I thought! The miso glaze is well done and the accompanying broccolini was tasty as well! I really enjoyed this! Skywalker Ranch Wagyu Burger ($38) - Everyone gets this since all the beef served at this restaurant is from Lucas's own ranch. The burger was good, but it wasn't anything mindblowing and I don't know that I could distinguish this from a non-wagyu cow. The fries were tasty! Overall, you come for the views and the vibes. Dining outside seems like the way to go if you can since it has a relaxed and chill vibe. The cocktails were a hit, the food is solid but nothing mindblowing. It is pricey, so think special occasion. Otherwise, I'm grateful that I was able to dine here. Just wish that our waitress didn't have such a RBF lol

Last night, we celebrated our daughter's birthday at Skywalker Grill and had a wonderful evening! The restaurant offers beautiful views of the Downtown LA skyline, and the modern, stylish interior creates an inviting atmosphere. Especially loved the sleek, sophisticated bar area, which looks like a great spot to relax and enjoy a drink. We started with the Blue Crab Cake and Mozzarella Sticks, followed by the Crispy Chicken Milanese, Grilled Salmon, Ragu Bolognese, and Skywalker Ranch Wagyu Burger. We also shared the Roasted Brussels Sprouts. Everything was well prepared and flavorful. For dessert, we enjoyed the Citrus Sundae, Chocolate Layer Cake, Basque Cheesecake and Vanilla Sorbet (not pictured), which were a sweet ending to our celebration. A special shoutout to Brenda S. for the exceptional service! She was genuinely friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening. Her warm hospitality made our daughter's birthday celebration even more enjoyable. Overall, Skywalker Grill was a lovely choice for our daughter's birthday dinner. We enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and most importantly, spending quality time together as a family. Looking forward to visiting again!

WOW! What an amazing dining experience inside of a museum! I feel lucky I got to experience this fantastic restaurant on the day I visited the museum since I could not get reservations. I tried doing a walk-in request the moment I got to the museum entrance since I heard that's the way to do it if you don't have a reservation. I didn't think I would get a table since this restaurant (at the time of this review) is impossible to get into so I gave them my name and went on to see the museum while waiting to hear from the restaurant. I was shocked to get a text from them during my visit in the museum! Once you get to the restaurant, you are treated so well! Not only is the restaurant beautiful but the food is phenomenal!! Having read some reviews that are on the bad side, I'm left confused and flabbergasted to think anyone would not like the food here! Since they have a "come as you are" policy regarding the dress code, I did feel very underdressed as I am not used to being in tshirt and shorts while eating at such a fine restaurant. Anyway, this restaurant is a bit expensive but worth every penny if you ask me and it is worth the effort to get in if you can.

As soon as reservations opened for this restaurant I knew I had to be there. No regrets. We pulled up to the garage, parking is onsite. We didn't have to pay. I'm not sure if it was a fluke or just it's recently new. We took the elevator up and walked over to the gates. We were greeted and asked if we had reservations. Then they directed us to the right. The building itself is gorgeous. Beautiful, expansive. I was blown away. We walked in and were directed to the elevators which on their own are works of art. We went up to the restaurant and got out. We were early and checked in. Only waited about 5 min before we were seated. The restaurant is beautiful. The decor, the tables, the view. I can sing it's praises all day. Windows overlook the LA skyline. I ordered the ragu bolognese along with a glass of rose. My sister ordered the crispy chicken milanese along with the Slow Burn. Both dishes and drinks were delightful. Service was fantastic. Servers were friendly and attentive. Definitely can't wait to return. Definitely a must do!

This was difficult to reserve online in advance but I lucked out checking last-minute for a next-day reservation. There was only patio seating available to reserve, which probably would have been fine on any other day, except on this day it started raining pretty hard midway through lunch. Given the sunbrellas outside weren't equipped for rain, we thankfully got moved inside. If you get a chance to choose, I'd recommend sitting inside. The interior ambiance was nice and the high ceilings and futuristic interiors made the experience quite unique. You don't really get to experience the interior or the architecture of the building when you're sitting out on the patio. However, something to keep in mind--there was significant echoing inside which made it difficult to hear across the table. The food was fine but nothing special. Same goes for the drinks.

To make matters worse, everything on the menu is already overpriced, and the tables are so small they can barely fit one plate comfortably. The food was just okay. The only thing I'll give them credit for is that the drinks were good. Unfortunately, the service wasn't impressive either. I finally was able to check it off, thanks to a hotel offer with a dining credit. Dahlia is the gorgeous petite space behind the larger ground floor restaurant space now called Cabrillo (formerly Caldo Verde). Dahlia opened as a bespoke cocktail lounge, then began to offer tea. Now it's just tea. There are five 2-tops and two 4-top tables. All food and beverage venues at the Proper used to be under the auspices of famed chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne. They are no longer affiliated with the Proper, but many of their dishes/contributions remain. The last named vestige of them is on the tea menu, "Suzanne's Deviled-Egg Sandwich". The tea menu has several options: Classic, with a seasonal mocktail, or with different champagnes. I opted for the Classic experience, because the mocktail had mocha, not my fave. Server Lluvia was clearly a Dahlia veteran; she offered a tea-smelling of all the teas that interested me as well as crowd favourites. I ultimately chose one of these faves, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which had passionfruit and vanilla. I declined milk/cream, but did get lemon. There were rock sugar sticks on the table. It seems the selection of tea sandwiches and sweet treats changes every so often, although the vanilla bean scone, dried currant scone, Devonshire cream and apricot orange jam seem like constants. The sandwich selection at my visit were: cucumber, crab/creme fraiche, beet hummus on pita, smoked salmon and Suzanne's deviled egg. All were delish, the beet, crab and deviled egg especially. The sweet treats were: orange fig butter cookie, spiced apple brown butter crumble, cranberry frangipane hand pie, chocolate mocha macaron, pumpkin madeleine, plus the 2 scones. All were excellent. There were no leftovers. A bit pricey, but a relaxing and lovely experience. The room was not crowded when I visited, adding to the calmness of my visit.
