Came here to celebrate my sister's 30th birthday with some tea! We had a group of 7 and we were seated in a separate room. I love the interior of this spot and it was aesthetic. We started with a tea smelling where we got to smell the different tea leaves from the menu. I loved this experience because it definitely helped me decide on which tea I wanted. For my tea experience, I chose the Himalayan tea. It was rich in flavor with scents of floral. We each got our own pot of tea and were able to get more refills of hot water. I ordered the vegan menu (menu attached). I loved the vanilla bean scone, avocado bruschetta, cucumber basil, and the yuzu madeleine. Huge thanks to Uvia who made this a very fun experience for us! She was so knowledgeable about all the teas and sweets.

Afternoon Tea at Dahlia, located in Los Angeles, is quite pretty and unique. The interior has a romantic vibe of mystery and elegance. This was my first time having afternoon tea at this place, and our server was friendly. She explained the menu and the different items on the tiers. If you haven't had afternoon tea it usually comes with a tea that you pick and then comes some tasty sandwiches and sweet desserts. If you want milk with your tea you could always ask them to have it and it will come in this little small pouring cup. Enjoyed our afternoon tea and loved the vibe overall! Great place to have a chat with your friends about our daily lives.

If you're looking for a gorgeous and unique afternoon tea I can't recommend Dahlia more highly. My sister and I came for the winter tea. Firstly, the restaurant is impeccably designed. So many beautiful colors and textures and the tea room feels cozy and intimate yet luxurious. I love that you get to smell the teas before making your selection and they were seasonal curations. I got the gingerbread black tea, and my sister got the apple pie green tea. Both were absolutely delicious. Our server Lluvia was so friendly and attentive and made the whole experience feel extra special. Both the vanilla, and black currant scones were incredible. Crispy on the outside, almost like a donut, and fluffy and light on the inside. The accompanying jam and Devonshire cream were the perfect accompaniments. I loved the variety of the savory bites which were all delicious especially the cucumber, and egg sandwiches. The seasonal patisserie selection really knocked it out of the park. A true love letter to Holiday flavors. The cranberry frangipane hand pie and the Apple Pie Bar were unforgettable. I'll definitely be back :)

AMAZING! We came for tea service and it was absolutely wonderful. Lluvia was amazing and explained the menu and teas to us. She also played the best music and made our experience so much lovelier. We had the vegan tea service and absolutely everything was incredible. They change up their menu so I am excited to come back and try their chef's next creations.

This speakeasy is so beautiful! Wish i lived here. The interior design in this room is just so beautiful. Well done! One of the best desserts I've had (forgot to take a pic of the menu ...was trying to live in the moment). My friend and I were fortunate to have the whole room to ourselves which was pretty neat. So romantic! Recommended to make reservations as this place can get filled up pretty quickly- we just happened to come on a slow Saturday.

I love a good afternoon tea so when I saw the afternoon tea here, I decided to give it a try. It's very easy to find parking downtown. There are lots everywhere and several very close by. The lobby is very small and gets crowded easily. As soon as you enter, the restaurant is to the left. We were seated in a small waiting area i. the restaurant. The coffee table in the seating area was dirty with lots of crumbs and dried up spills. My first impression being a dirty table had me worried. We sat in the area for a couple of minutes then we were taken back to the beautiful tea room as far as tea rooms go. This is one of the most gorgeous I've been in here in the Los Angeles area. Service was great. they really take their time and don't rush you at all. I appreciated their unique tea selection. I had the mad hatter tea and it was very unique. I really enjoyed the fruity bouquet the tea presented. I wasn't a huge fan of the rock candy stir sticks. They're cute and a good concept, but it's hard to use on multiple cups of tea and doesn't get the flavor where you want to be all the time. The food was good, but there were two things that stood out for me that had the most flavor. The first was the prosciutto and radish on pumpernickel. This was one of the most delicious small bites. The next item was the mocha mousse kiss so delectable, I wish I had a dozen of these.

We decided to try this place as it just opened! Very cute romantic vibes. The design of the interior is really beautiful. We waited in another restaurant before they brought us in. There was about 2 other people in there. Music was really soft and a little bland. It would be a lot better with a little more vibrant music and a little louder. We felt as if we had to whisper so no one around us could hear. Dropped a star purely for the vibes. I'll start with the eggplant! Honestly for the price it was worth it for the incredible flavors. But it was just such a small portion. You definitely won't go there for the food that's for sure! But great for a light snack. We got two drinks. The vodka martini which my friend said was amazing. And I got the boulevardier which was also a really beautiful tasty drink. Overall a nice place for one drink but there are better options depending on if this is your vibe or not!

Pleasant and solid afternoon tea at Dahlia for Valentine's weekend. My 4-year old loves going to tea ever since he experienced all the bells and whistles at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, Canada. While the setting at Dahlia is less traditional, I enjoyed the modern, muted colors of the small tea room and the Asian teapot. The Proper Hotel's interior design is beautiful and transportive in a wholly different way than your usual English or Garden themed tea rooms. My son was thrilled with the heart themed dessert presentation for their Valentine's tea and service was friendly, if not always prompt or particularly attentive despite the small number of parties (there were three parties at most at any given time). The sandwiches were good enough, but the bread felt just a little stale and the flavors normal. The desserts were more exciting to taste, but I don't have much of a sweet tooth so I always focus more on the sandwiches. I was happy enough with the experience, but I can't say that for the price tag (well over 400 dollars for 4 people including tip, but no champagne) it felt like I got my money's worth. Also, while very pretty, the tea room felt very much like a place I'd like to have a drink rather than nurse a pot of tea and leisurely munch. I would visit the lovely location again, but for a cocktail. BTW - they do not validate and you have to valet. It feels like if you spent over 400 dollars on tea and some pastries, you should get parking. I guess that is downtown LA for you.

A very elite experience - the private room bar in the back of the Hoxton Hotel in DTLA. Highly recommend this place for something slightly off the beaten path. Our server was very jovial and one of the cocktails was prepared table side. I got the Ultima Palabra - the Mexican gin was a new experience for me and the drink was excellent. My boyfriend got the Old Fashioned - the smokiness was a nice touch. We also got one of their nibbles - the serrano ham - which was perfect and literally three bites worth.

The guests, come and go and at each moment, in any corner, be ready to be surprised and entertained by a live DJ, acrobat, burlesque performer, pianist and singer. What a show! Veronica at the bar was fantastic and made us drinks just to our order. Supper knowledgable, helpful and kind. Definitely, this place is a great hangout after a meal... be prepared to be be dazzled and entertained.

Gonna try to paint the picture in as few words as possible. Sorry for the long narrative:…read more 1) I planned out a special night for my wife throughout all of Level 8 2) Had reservations set at Lucky Mizu for Dinner to Mr. Wanderlust for Cocktails and Entertainment and then to Sinners and Santos for Drinking and Dancing for Latin Night 3) Showed up for our 6:45 PM reservation at Lucky Mizu but was turned away 3 times stating they didn't have seats available. After being seated 40 minutes later, service took 20 minutes to take our order, and another 30 minutes to be served. Food was 'okay', there was no entertainment, and multiple customers were unhappy with similar slow service... but some of them were comped parts of their meals.. we didn't even get a sorry until we spoke to the manager on our way out, expressing the reason was they had no idea it would be this busy on a Thursday (they take reservations, so...), and also blamed an 'all you can eat promotion' they promoted earlier, and they only had two serves on staff that night. 4) We were late to Mr. Wanderlust, but were luck to get two seats at the bar after another couple left. We order two cocktails and a coffee... and were charged just over $140. Then, we were asked to move because they wanted to take our seats. We asked about the bill to the bartendar, and she expressed that since she didn't take our original order, she couldn't help us. She simply just had us stand there. We were not going to pay since it seemed way off... until finally we spoke to a guy walking by. We showed him our ticket/receipt and said out loud, "this isn't right". He came back quickly with a revised bill of almost $120. This was still far too high, but no one else seemed interested in helping us find resolve, so we ate it since we didn't want to be late for part 3 of the night. 5) Hoping to salvage the night with drinks and dancing... we tried to find the entrance to Sinners and Santos for their advertised Latin night. We had made reservations here too, and had full confirmation of the reservation... BUT, after finally being directed to the entrance (outside on the patio), they were closed. No sign of why and no one who worked at the other locations had a reason, but they were just simply closed. 6) So, after paying $35 for parking, about $140 in cocktails and food while waiting for our initial reservation at Golden Hour and Que Barbaro, $150+ for dinner at Lucky Mizu, and $120 at Mr. Wanderlust... approximately $500 total... we didn't even get to dance. Maybe this place had a bad night, but based on what the workers said, and how they treated us... it sure seems like the norm. Don't get me wrong, the place is cool... some really great experiential elements and nice photo ops... but I would have had a much better time somewhere else. Super disappointed in this place.

The interior never changes... dark... illuminated by candlelight... the bust of Shakespeare over the fireplace, the shelves of old books-- all of it remains intact. But this latest Library Bar seems to have finally dialed in what was always sorely missing in that it showcases a conscientious staff that all seem to know how to mix drinks while treating the customer well by leaving them be. On one night my date and I share a "Black Manhattan," basically a Manhattan with the generous addition of Averna, and it's terrific. On another night, I go for Happy Hour and a few pints of Guinness on draft that are surprisingly proper and go well with their excellent and, I'm told, homemade Hummus & Veggies Plate. The music at this current Library Bar is pretty much on point and is never so loud as to interfere with the conversations that patrons seem to come here for... something you should come here for too, and maybe at Happy Hour specifically if you're looking for a nice bump in your day and to spend an hour, well, happily.
