I've been really into wine bars lately and decided to check out Mignon. The bar is so dark that I had to whip out my phone and used the flashlight to read the menu lol. Staff is super friendly and provided great recs! +Mixed and match of cheese and charcuterie 5/5: Our server recommended some soft cheeses and less salty meats, and everything tasted delicious! + NY steak 5/5: Wow, I didn't have much expectations of an $18 steak but it's one of the most well-seasoned steak I've ever had. It's so soft and juicy as well. I was so impressed. Apparently there's only a limited amount of steak! + Uni spaghetti 3/5: Unfortunately, the uni was kinda fishy otherwise it would've been tasty. Overall, I had a great time at Mignon and would come back again for HH!

Great food and drinks! I love the environment and the employees were very helpful. Just wished they had food on the happy hour as well and come early for happy hour drinks, they are very limited on the supply you can purchased on happy hour prices. All the happy wines were very tasty but the Chorizo and Manchego Sandwich was the best part!!!

    The best burger in town!!!

This was hands down the best burger I have had in a long long time! Super simple but the real deal, you know? And this is because unlike a lot of these over ambitious burgers that come with onion rings, and bbq sauce, and all other kinds of distractors that ultimately leaves one with a big disappointing mess, this is just an honest burger. You walk in and you decided of you want a double double or not and thats it. 5 mins later the best burger comes out. It looks good. It smells good. And most importantly it tastes hella good! I will be back!

French wine bar with $8 glasses of wine and $2 oysters for happy hour (6pm-8pm daily). They have a circular wooden seating area. I came solo with a book and never felt rushed. I got a glass of cab, the ham & brie sandwich, and a charcuterie board. All was delightful, especially the sandwich. I got the tartufo (truffle cheese), Bermuda Triangle (creamy goat) and the jamon serrano (prosciutto adjacent) for the charcuterie board. All in all, a wonderful vibe with great music. They were out of oysters and the cream for the baked eggs, so I will definitely come back to try.

My friend and I were looking for a light but delicious snack and the sandwich's from h mignon really caught my attention. now I am neither a cheese nor a wine connoisseur, but again I am a lover of food and am on a constant quest to expand my taste buds. The bar is dark, it sets this tone of very NOT LA. It really felt like we were in Paris. I really enjoyed the vibe It's kinda hidden, so keep your eyes open. Street parking only. Now let's get to the fun part..... the part you've been waiting for, I know.... The foooodddd ! Ok we went with the ham & Brie sandwich and the fig and Brie sandwich. like I said I'm a cheese novice so I asked A LOT of questions and the lovely girl was so patient, really knowledgeable, did not once make me feel silly for any question I asked. She helped us curate a beautiful charcuterie board and I must say I FINALLLLY understood the beauty of a charcuterie board. It's like painting with your palate. You mix and match flavors, texture and really get to give your taste buds a fun ride. I'm really excited to go back and explore more meats and cheeses. The only cheese name I remember was the truffle one and wow it was amazing. It's a goat cheese, but not at all overpowering it paired so well with the honey! MY FAVORITE is the ham & Brie, it comes on a board with Dijon, almonds and pickles. THIS SANDWICH IS WOWWWWW It's simple and beyond delicious. No lie both my friend and I wished we ordered one Togo. And full disclosure I woke up thinking about that sandwich The fig & Brie was also amazing but the ham & Brie stole my heart.

A little slice of Manhattan in downtown Los Angeles!! This fabulously quirky little bar is an absolute oasis. It's the type of place that looks like it's been there for hundred years. Fun art covering the walls in a dimly-lit space where all activity takes place in a square center bar area with patrons seated around it. The staff is fun, gracious and incredibly knowledgeable about all things wine and charcuterie... the pasta is particularly good with whatever wine they have recommended. On any given night the bar is filled with quirky, artsy Angelinos who know they've discover a hidden gem. On certain nights we've been there with a DJ spinning, adding to the uniquely NYC vibe. I'm compelled to write this great review of a great DTLA space knowing full well it might make it harder to get a seat, as seating is limited! But they deserve the props so I had to :)

The best wine bar in the neighborhood. Great for a intimate date night, they have great charcuterie boards too

My go-to wine bar hands down. Place is small and cozy, so seating is very limited. Week nights are not too bad. Happy hour till 5-8pm! Awesome deal. A nice range of wines and cheeses. Bread (baguette) - So toasty and warm! Love carbs... Oeufs en Cocotte (baked eggs, leeks, cream) - AMAZING and so much flavor. Goes well with the bread. Pâté de Campagne - Love this. A must get, if you like pate. French Ham and Brie sandwich - Great! Simple and classic. Tastes exactly how you imagine it to be. Charcuterie & cheese - Amazing cuts of meats and cheeses. I usually have the waiter decide what to give me. They never disappoint! Menu always changes. I've been meaning to try the escargots, but the times I've been there... it wasn't on the menu. Next time!

Initially we were going to…read moretry De La Nonna, but they were closed for a special event and we didn't know when we showed up. In the same vein, we stuck with a similar style of food and ended up at Propaganda. There was little to no wait, which was pleasant. It was a nice day and we decided to eat outside. The focaccia bread and salad came out first, and both were good. I enjoyed the crispiness of the bread, though my only qualms were that the bread was quite oily and the butter and salt were just a tad bit too salty for my liking. The Insalata Mista salad was solid. Good flavor, good dressing-to-salad ratio, and a surprisingly good portion size. As far as pizza goes, the Margherita was good. Tasty, moist, and a nice crunch on the crust. I found it to be enjoyable, though I may have enjoyed more fresh basil on this. I did find it better than the Boscaiola. I got the black truffle honey add on, and it does not go well on this pizza in my opinion. There was virtually no taste of truffle to me, and more of just an aftertaste of oily sweet honey. This was a miss. It's hard to say whether the base pizza was good without it because the flavor profile was just too overpowered by the aftertaste. The Arts District is definitely coming up with new upscale dining establishments, and I'm there for it. I think this is a solid addition. Though this is a wine bar, I don't generally drink, so my review is based purely on the food. Results of their drinks, which is quite an extensive list, may be to your liking! They do have an inexpensive three wine flight, for reference!

The tuna was fresh and the other two were just alright to me. It was really interesting as the salad had saradines which was different but nothing bad, but nothing really memorable either. Parking can be tough, but I was lucky enough to find street parking. Seating is also limited, and the wait can be long including the restroom line. Glassell Park is a hidden neighborhood in Los Angeles, anyway, and if you don't know what you are looking for, you might zip right past W&S, as we did. Parking is hit and miss, but there are side streets and you will find a space if you give yourself an extra 15 minutes before you come. The neighborhood is mysterious to me, sort of pricey grunge & hipster, iykwim. But! Once you are inside, you are in a completely different world. Bright, clean, genteel, muted, with dappled sunlight dripping through various apertures and alighting in a soft glow here and there on shining metal tables. It's beautiful. Some catchy upbeat contempo-pop music streamed steadily at just the right volume overhead. I found myself resisting the temptation to get up and dance. There are several rooms from which to choose, but I wanted to be seated on the wine-red suede banquette that gave me a view of the whole restaurant and out onto the tree-canopied street. From the time we arrived to the moment we left about an hour later, we were showered with warm smiles and attentive service. And the food? Exquisite. See my pictures. It was hard to choose. One tiny disappointment was they were out of the biscuits that I wanted to start with, but I enjoyed the crusty tender Clark Street bread slices served with warm creamery butter instead. It only got better from there. The two bowls we ordered were filled with fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection, topped with an egg prepared as we requested, i.e., over medium. The portions are modest and it was all so good, we didn't take anything home. We ordered coffee and were brought two tall steaming mugs of Americano, smooth, dark, and delicious. Best of all was the Lemon Lavender cake, a seasonal specialty. Honestly, it might be one of the best, moistest, most flavorful and elegant cakes I have ever had. So fantastic, that I just ordered some lavender buds (if I don't collect them from our garden) to replicate it at home. I don't drink much alcohol but if I did, I would head here for one of their experiences or tastings -- they have a formidable list. Check all this out. And hurry if you want to have Lemon Lavender cake.

Everyone also didn't feel particularly welcoming, from the hostess to the waitress (no smiles). Thankfully, we were seated outside for some fresh air, although the warm murky smell still lingered a bit outdoors. The menu seem fairly limited since nothing really stood out to me as especially exciting. I've studied the menu prior before going, and was only looking forward to their burger, but they didn't have it during dinner apparently. While the dishes were descripted very well on the menu, there was no depth in flavors. I'm talking about the pork belly, lamb chops, tartare, Spanish octopus, and especially the seasonal pasta. I'm happy that it wasn't overly salty, but overall the food tasted mediocre and felt a bit basic. I'm only saying this because I could make it myself, at least the lamb, fatty pork belly, and pasta. Portions were also on the small side. Service was a bit slower as it took some time to get seated and receive our food, and one of our dishes was forgotten until we reminded the staff after already finishing most of the meal. On the positive side, we were able to find easy street parking about a block away, and the restaurant itself has a cozy ambiance that would probably be great for a chill dinner with some wine. However, my group left still feeling very hungry and unsatisfied. To be fair, we came in hungry, and the portions and long wait didn't help.

We tried a yellowfin tartare which was great. I got the pasta which was very good, and my wife got the salmon. Salmon was fresh and great, but the broccolini side was ridiculously salty. Service was very good, but my wife wanted the tartare as an entrée and our server, who was honestly lovely, suggested it wasn't large enough for an entrée. Problem was, it was a pretty substantial portion and my wife would have appreciated it as a main. I loved getting to share the tuna, but if she'd have just ordered that, and not added the salmon, I think we both would've appreciated the experience more. A very good wine list, with some really nice wines by the glass - You don't see that often enough - and limited, but interesting beer. Ample parking, 90 minutes free.

It's easy to get lost but it's easy to find after you read the sign and pass Madewell. It was a girls night out experience and we had fun on a Saturday evening. For food I ordered the bread and butter that was Shareable and the tuna ahi with chips that was 3/5. It could have been more flavorful. The bread and butter was 5/5 though. Very hot and soft. For the wine I had the Grenache and sparkling rose that was very good!!! My fav two selections. I highly suggest !! The service was really good and pretty fast! We had Yesi as our server and she was very attentive and good personality!! I would like to have her again!! The ambiance is cute and nice surrounded by beautiful plants you can purchase. I will try Cosette again! The parking was expensive in the lot! They only give 90 min free parking after it's a few every hour or min. I had to pay $20, so just FYI.
