I am extremely disappointed in the delivery service and options for corrections with Skyview Diner. I have ordered from them multiple times and more often than not am ordering for more than one person. Their delivery system has completely fallen off. I ordered from them on Sunday, November 6th in which I ordered breakfast items. One of the items ordered was a separate side of grits and another contained grits along with the order as a side to come with the meal. In both instances, the grits exploded out of their containers and destroyed other items within the order/bag. The delivery driver noticed and told me to check the bag. I contacted the company and they later redid the order after explaining that they were extremely busy and it would take time for the new order to come.
When the order came back over an hour later, the delivery driver told me to check the bag. When I did, I showed the delivery driver how their was yet another mess up in that the order that had the grits included as one of the side items had run all over and on top of the eggs and bacon that came with it. Who wants runny, soggy, bacon and eggs?? I told him that I wouldn't contact the company again but my friend and I just decided to bear with it and try to eat our food anyway.
The food here happens to be really good so I tried my luck again this past Saturday, November 12th. This time when ordering, I specified to place the grits in a separate container that would be safe for traveling and they did. Thankfully the order came out perfectly!
Assuming that my luck would continue through today, I ordered again with this company. I forgot to specify to place the grits in a different container and of course ended up having a MAJOR issue when the food arrived to me (silly me to think that the company would take responsibility for their delivery mess ups and rethink their packaging for delivery without being prompted). I took my order inside only to find out that everything was destroyed. This time I was ordering for 3 people as I was entertaining guests and all of their food got messed up in delivery. The grits that were ordered were placed on top of lunch items that were ordered for other members of my party and had completely broken/burst out of the unsafe delivery container and flowed down and broken into the other containers in the bags (that were smooched and the other lid cracked). Who wants grilled cheese and french fries with grits spilled all over them? Or a cheeseburger with grits on top? Certainly not the children that were a part of the group that I ordered for! The only food item that came in a separate bag was flipped sideways and smashed against the side of the container. I ran back to my door to complain to the delivery person but the delivery person was gone.
I contacted the company and spoke with a woman who when I explained the issue, gave her response of "again?!?" Obviously she remembered the same horrific event that happened the previous week when I ordered (which goes to show that without specifying to the company, they will do nothing to change the way in which the order is packaged and delivered). She placed me on the phone with whom she claimed was the manager and I then explained the situation to him in which all the food was destroyed and that I had taken pictures that I would be more than happy to show them since the delivery guy took off so fast. At first he sounded like he would remake the order but when he realized that everything got messed up, his attitude changed. His response then was that he was going to talk to the manager (ummm... I thought you were supposed to be the manager). He placed me on what felt like a 5 second hold to say that the manager suggested to do a refund as they wouldn't be able to redo the entire order under what I feel like was them not believing that the grits could have ruined my entire order. When I responded in saying that that does not do anything to help my now starving guests who were out of luck with food he had no real response but to advise me to call back to talk with the manager as well as the fact that they would reach out to groupon/seamless to refund my order.
I haven't heard/seen anything from groupon/seamless to show that the company has reached out to them to initiate my full refund. (I will be reaching out to seamless to see what is going on after writing this review.) This is beyond upsetting that a company that has 5 stars in terms of the food would not take pride in their delivery system. If you're not willing to make sure that their customers are satisfied with their delivery and are not starving as a result of their mistakes - then there's no reason to do delivery's with your company. I'll be trying my luck with other company's (or making the food myself) until I feel like my faith can be restored in Skyview. read more
