I was out doing work for the civilian emergency response team (CERT - which all New Yorkers should join) and there was hardly any food anywhere nearby. Luckily I found this diner. And you all know how much I love diners. But most importantly, I love two things about diners (well actually three, they have to have good steak fries). First I want to be welcomed like I'm coming home, and secondly, they better know how to make eggs. These guys had something called a "jumbo" omelette. So I got a vegetarian with Swiss, and boy was it huge. Everything perfectly done--home fries, not to crisp not too soft, and the thickest omelette I think I've had in years (because most people just dry the hell out of them). Amazing Hidden Gem... A little diamond in the rough. Little did i know that they would offer Mangu, Fried salami and fried cheese with eggs!! OMG it was delicious! The server and the coffee guy were attentive and were constantly filling our cups. Really the only decent lunch option in the area. It's located inside a mini mall, sharing the parking lot with a supermarket and crackheads asking for change. It's a really nice neighborhood spot. My mom usually treats a lot of the older folks in the neighborhood to breakfast or lunch (which is really awesome). The breakfast is pretty solid, the service is attentive and the space may be limited during (frequently) packed weekend mornings. I know neighborhood folks say its great, but I stopped in for coffee and a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll and I was disappointed. The sandwich was kind of rubber and I even threw part of it out. You can write clear direct instructions on your order and they will STILL find a way to screw it up. You ask for Lite ketchup, you'll receive your meal slathered in ketchup. You can request for no cheese because you are deathly allergic and in true incompetent fashion you'll have cheese on your order. The workers here along with the owner clearly can not read english because this has been the 3rd time I've had an issue with my order. You would think that instead of repeatedly issuing refunds they would just READ THE SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS and get the order right. I would rather deal with Jimmy's rude delivery guy than to deal with incompetent and annoying people who screw up orders then get defensive about it. I wanted a waffle and a grilled chicken caesar salad wrap. I received a grilled chicken caesar salad. No wrap. No fries. I called back and was given a hard time as though it is my fault she didn't read my order back to me or double check. I don't know where service is so bad that I have to ask if my order is right and go over it. Isn't that THEIR job? The manager was less than sympathetic and refused to realize I tried to get my lunch for work from them ahead of time so I didn't HAVE to be late for work. So, now I have to take this salad I don't want (that's overpriced) and lose one more option for delivery. Tried this diner for the first time while visiting a relative in the area. The hash brown potatoes were great! I didn't need salt, pepper or ketchup to make them palatable! The potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Haven't had what I ordered from a diner look and taste like the picture on the menu for ages. My over easy eggs were over easy! The bacon was crisp not burned and 3 nice sized pieces. The French toast ordered was light and fluffy and cooked just right! It has been so long since I had good diner food! Now, with new management the few times i've ordered from this place within the past year there's ALWAYS been an issue with my order. I literally live down the block & this order took almost 2 hours. I was skeptical of trying this place after reading some of the reviews. My mother and I just did our laundry and was hungry for breakfast. My mom had a hard-time getting in the door, and the waitress held the door and escorted her in. The waitress even made jokes. First observance the diner reminds me of an old school look, but I liked it, it made me feel at home. I had some beef sausages and my mom had that and some home fries, not only was the food well done it was delicious! To top it off everything was affordable and they also deliver! I tried the same diner later on that week and had a delicious burger for dessert which I don't even like strawberry shortcake. Thanks to them I can add that cake to cakes that I will eat again. Come here weekly now since I come to NY that often to visit my sick dad. Breakfast is pretty good and inexpensive (specials start at about $5 per person with coffee and juice included). I find the weekend staff a little less attentive and slower than the weekday staff but still pretty good for the cost. Coffee is good and I'm picky about my joe. Never here for anything but breakfast so I can't comment on that. read more

Absoluetly awful! Waited 2 hours for my delivery. I called twice and spoke to the "manager" who told me after and hour and 15 mins that the order was on its way. I called after another 30 mins and he said he was having a bad day and never got the order and needed to make it fresh. He asked ME if I could pick it up even though it was paid on seamless with a tip. Annoyed, I agreed to get it because I was hungry. I get within 5 mins of the place and my wife calls saying the delivery driver was outside our house! I had to turn around and when I got home, the food was cold. In spanish, and not realizing i understand spanish, told the owner i wanted to speak with him about my order. The owner told him to tell me he wasn't there. Are you kidding me!? Thank god seamless credited me in full but definitely stay away from this place. The manager and owner are AWFUL! It was french toast, eggs and a wrap. Probably shouldn't take longer than 10 mins to cook and 10 mins to deliver. I own a business and understand they were probably busy. But 2 hours!? And you lie to me!? Then send me to pick up!?
