We absolutely LOVE coming here! Especially for the salads! Staff and owner are amazing

Found this spot through a friend. It's very hard to find any healthy or salad spots in the Bronx. Spent a total of $32 here for three sandwiches but I must say that the sandwiches were superb and large! The location is small and it doesn't seem to have any indoor seating is more than for one or two people. They offered salad, sandwiches hot and cold and wraps. They had different options like wheat and spinach. Was highly upset when I checked in on my yelp and saw that I got a free milkshake but when I asked him to use my coupon they told me that they don't accept my YELP coupon. That was not cool they should still been able to give me my milkshake regardless of their issues with you and canceling their coupons. The customer is always supposed to be right. The Decour was cute it was lots of turtles with lettuce and it makes sense with the name once you enter the store. I went restaurant to this restaurant to buy a salad , I ask the man at the counter ,what my options are and he answered "all of the salad I $10.00 " I answered I asked about the food menu ,not the price do you tell all of the customers the price before placing their order ." then he said your making the out of a racial issue" Then I noticed the menu on the chalk board and stated "id like to order a salad please " He finally made the salad . while making the salad I ask if I could use the restroom .He then hesitated to answer me , so I said why did you hesitate. Then he went outside I sat down to eat my salad, Then this tall lady came in from outside from her car hovering over me asking me" what's the problem I'm the owner" . I told her that I ask the counter man about salad menu and instead he told me the price . While I was still sitting ,she continued talking , then I said I just want to enjoy my salad .I then called my friend to tell him just what took place , but I stopped the conversation because I believe her son was listening to my conversation as he was standing behind the counter She the owner then told the counter person "DO NOT SERVE HER ANYMORE .I stayed quite eating my salad Even though I was insulted by her statement ,then I went across the street to get my nails done As I was leaving the Nail Salon getting into my car they were watching me then they got in to the car and pulled off after I left. I was left to feel intimated and discriminated against because of my race and age I was alone and I'm 61 years old and all I wanted to do is to enjoy my salad read more

Went to get a sandwich here and it was the saltiest sandwich ever. After forcing half the sandwich down, I looked inside and saw that the bleu cheese they used was too moldy and smelled really putrid. I've had bleu cheese before and it's not supposed to smell that bad. I also asked if I can check in and get a free milk shake but the guy barely looked at my phone and said I don't think my manager will honor that and slowly backed away. What a great place, love this cozy little bronx spot, keep up the good work and the food is amazing!! It's unfortunate that such a new business turns away customers. At 8:23PM I walk in and it appeared as if they are closed. I ask if they are closed and was told "what do you want, salad?". I asked what time do you close? The reply was "8:40pm do you want a salad?" I asked does it depend on what I want wether or not you are opened? He said yes. A few things... who operates a business and has no hours of operation posted? More than that who operates a business and carries such odd business hours? This would have been my 3rd time there and the first 2 were very inconsistent (I ordered the same thing both times). Business is way too competitive to pick and choose the hours you serve your customers. I can be wrong if the owner is rich and this is just "play money". Needless to say I won't be back and will bring my business elsewhere. You've lost a customer who literally eats out every night of the week. read more

I came in here to grab a quick bite to eat with my daughter. Let me start by saying this place is aesthetically very nice that rivals any trendy place in Brooklyn or the East Village. The restaurant is small and therefore the dining area is also small. There are only 4 small tables and each table seats two. There is a bar against the wall where you can also sit to eat. CONS: What I didn't like about this place is the tables are not very sturdy. The tabletop is cheaply made and twists at the will of whoever is leaning up against them. Like I said before, the place is small, so when the cook or the whoever is behind the counter have a conversation, whether it be with each other or over the phone, you can hear it very clearly. This does not bother me personally, but I can see how it can for people who don't like this. PROS: The food here is pretty good. I had the mozzarella sticks with their marinara sauce, which was outstanding. I also had the chili cheese dog that was made with their homemade chili--awesome. There is also a salad bar with a lot of different choices and their menu has a few very interesting items. I definitely plan on coming back and trying everything else. read more

Always on the look for a chopped salad spot, was in the area so came by. The name is cute, and the inside is welcoming and clean. The price is reasonable enough, $9 for a salad with 10 toppings. However, you can't get a double topping and count as another topping--they charge $1 extra. For example, if you ask for two eggs, they will give you one and then you have to pay $1 for the second (true story!). Not a whole lot of creative salad options, just basic vegetables. I'm giving 3 stars, the guy who put my salad together wasn't the friendliest, and he didn't really chop the salad up. How can they not understand a customer's frutration when you have to wait 10 minutes to place an order because the cook and the cashier are both trying to help customers. Placed an order through grubhub and was called within 10 minutes to let me know they didn't have any turkey burgers, when asked to if I could swap it with something else but was told I couldn't substitute it with anything else. So as instructed I cancelled and reordered within 10 minutes. Less than 20 minutes later I received an email stating my order was cancelled. Didn't even get a courtesy call to notify me. Called to clarify and the mailbox was full. This place is local to me and at one point was decent but it appears they've fallen all the way off. Oh, so sad. Once upon a time I gave them 5 stars. They did the old bait and switch. They started out a great business that gave you what your money deserved. I always order their salads. It was $9 and it still is, however, it used to be "up t 10 toppings" AFTER the base (lettuce, spinach, whatever). Then over time, it began, 10 toppings including base. Now it's only 8 toppings. FURTHERMORE, they used to be generous with the toppings! They actually gave you your money's worth. Honestly, $9 for some leaves is terrible if you don't have the toppings. Now, they've grown so sparse. I have bits of the ones I listed. I didn't even use up all 8 of my toppings, but I did include avocado. Behold, I have no avocado in my $9 salad that now has trace amount of toppings on a bed of lettuce. I got chicken and possibly receive only 2 oz. I have a small, 1 cubic inch worth if blue cheese and maybe 4 walnuts. I no longer support this business. read more

I was looking for some healthy food in the Bronx and this got good reviews so I headed over. There was a promotion on yelp that said if you check in you get a free small milkshake. When I asked for it they refused to honor the promotion and said they didn't want to pay for it. I could care less about the milkshake itself but the customer service was so aweful I left and went somewhere else. Unacceptable! I hate how they handle customers. You can add remarks to your address to call your phone like most places do... they will ring every doorbell in your apartment or house to piss off your Landlord. They act like they know you on the phone because of your previous run-ins and treat you accordingly. They don't deliver your drinks which is okay but adds up! You won't be reimbursed in the future so double check your bag. The guy delivering lies to my face that he called me a 100 times as he arrives and rings all the bells... I show him my phone with no missed calls and she shows me the receipt with verification of my cellphone number which is correct. Very disappointed. I ordered chicken wings spicy and the mushroom bacon cheeseburger and I didn't realize that you needed to put on so much salt to make a decent burger which turned out to be overcooked and very dry. I had ordered my food to stay but they wrapped it up to go. They probably didn't hear me because they were arguing quietly in the store. I have never had wings cooked where the outside skin was actually raw and chewy so I tasted two of them and threw them out right in front of them so they could see I was not happy with them. First time I ordered on seamless and noted picking up but will be walking my dog will call when outside. I called when outside gentleman on the phone refused to bring it to the door. None of the other places I have this issue and I put a tip on the order. So while on the phone I open the front door and say bring it to the door still refuses. Another person who worked there came to the door asking if I needed help explained situation. She stated maybe he didn't understand you I said nope he understood all he kept saying was you said pick up. Meanwhile I am literally at the door. She gave me my order. And food was great! The Bronx bomber - nicely seasoned - very tasty. Second time I decided let me do actual delivery. Food was great again. No issue with delivery, came to my apt door. Third attempt! I put in for delivery through seamless. I receive a call from the gentlemen who would not bring my order to the door from the first time. He stated they do not deliver to apartment doors you must come to the lobby. I said why, it wasn't an issue the other day? He point blank said he was jumped by two men in my building. I said wait at this address - his response yes. Guess what my building has cameras everywhere. I take this very seriously! I asked if he went to the hospital and police - no he doesn't have time. I said let's go together after I have the tapes reviewed. Nope he doesn't have time. I also said why wasn't I alerted at the time of the attack. No time. Called seamless and cancelled my order - after I said change it to pick up and take off the tip to the gentleman at the restaurant. He claimed he couldn't change it. Well I'm sorry you are to close for me to pay for a tip to come to my lobby. I will just walk the three minutes and get the order faster then the hour delivery. I went in here for the first time, the original items that I requested weren't available because they ran out. so I got a grilled chicken wrap, I was excited because I heard good things about this place, its something new in the neighborhood, and the inside was nice and modern and new. When I got home and tried the wrap it was COLD. I was not impressed at all, its like they just took the grilled chicken from the salad bar and threw it in a wrap with lettuce. I could of did that myself. Overall I was disappointed with the food. The service was nice; aside from the woman behind the counter yelling and cursing about a previous customer who ordered earlier. The veggie wrap with pesto mayo is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The salad bar is has an unbelievable amount of toppings to choose from and very affordable. Everything was fresh. Weird customer service... My wife found this place since she saw the list of burger choices. It was one of the coldest days in January 2018. First, the guy at the counter did not smile (no greeting), weird look, ask for restroom and said no... The door was ajar so all the cold air would come in, no apologies or explanation... I was recommended by a friend on Twitter to try this place on Crosby Avenue for a salad. So I went there a couple of days later to try the salad. I also saw they serve burgers and I went back there to try the burgers and fries which where good. Lettuce Eats is a nice small, trendy eatery place that serves salads, sandwiches burgers, etc. It's the kind of place I expect in the West Village, Brooklyn. It is nice to see a place like this in the Bronx. I live and work in the South Bronx. I wish South Bronx has a place like Lettuce Eats where I can for lunch. read more

I went to Lettuce Eat on 7/5/2019. While waiting for my food to be prepared I asked one of the workers if they had a customer bathroom. He said the bathroom was out of order. As I looked around the store taking in the design I notice the bathroom door had a out of service sign on it. I looked inside and seen a totally working bathroom. I then flushed the toilet and ran the hot and cold water in the sink. Everything was working. I then proceeded to ask the employee why is Lettuce Eat lying to customers about the bathroom being out of order. He stated that you cannot use the bathroom unless the establishmemt was full to capacity. I then asked him what about customer who come in and spend their money when the place is not full. Are they not allowed to use the bathroom. He said hey its not me it's the boss. I just follow orders. Stay away. read more

I've really enjoyed the food I've had here, it's a good addition to the neighborhood because there was a gap in this type of casual dining. They have a nice selection of sandwiches and salads. It's definitely a family-run place -- I've seen some reviews from folks who thought this was too intrusive, and I get what they're saying. When you come in, the owner and the staff are barking at each other, the ordering is a bit chaotic, it feels like you're walking into a loud sitcom about people who don't haven't quite figured out how to run a restaurant. But I think if you know what to expect -- that it's going to be a very Bronx joint where the workers are characters and you might hear some colorful language, and the kind of place where the "regulars" get a little bit of an advantage -- you can still enjoy the food, which is very good.
