I've been coming to Corky's since I was about 3 years old. The original venue was across the street from where it is located now, near the old Apple bank that has been vacant for decades yet still stands (?!) However, Corky's is a great reliable diner that not only provides nostalgia, but good comfort food. Dishes range from standard American Diner eats and also Mexican foods and dishes. Either way,you can't go too wrong. The prices are great. Cheap in comparison to many other places. Service was nice and moderately paced. I'm happy that it is still open after many years. It's where my Mom and Dad had their first Brunch date many moons ago and it was awesome to be able to take them there on their anniversary. I have been going to this dinner for a few weeks now. There food is good. Their salads are hearty and filling. Their breakfast is decent. Pancakes are dry and lack taste but the eggs and bacon are good. Basic breakfast good works. HOWEVER They charge what they want and never follow what they did the day before. One day I paid $3.50 for eggs and toast. Today I paid $5 for the same thing except I had an additional egg. I was told an additional egg was $1.50. For ONE EGG. Their prices are decent for lunch but outta control for breakfast. With that being said, I will not be returning to their establishment for my own person packet saving. Worst food ever I have been coming here for years but all of a sudden food is not good at all there is no flavor on the food eggs have no salt or black Pepper . The owner who's taking the order through the phone can't even get the orders right I ask for two bacon egg sandwich with no cheese as already saying it from the start and he repeats the order back to me and they still messed up my order my kids didn't even eat it. Also I call and the owner just keeps hanging up the phone on me bad service. While I was at there waiting for my order there was a customer who had been waiting for his order more then 20 min and Insulted the owner saying he only cares about the money and not his customers service I think the customer was right he don't care about giving good customer service . I order from them all the time but this time I am extremely disappointed and upset. I Just had delivered a chopped sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The cost with tax was $14 and change. The steak was unflavored and seemed to be thrown together with bits of meat compressed together and WAS THE SIZE OF A HAMBURGER!!!! I am NOT HAPPY! I've been here a few times, very good place for breakfast. Not too sure about the lunch selections, I had a quesadilla for lunch and it was pretty good, except for the pasty guacamole or the generic sour cream. Thats the only issue I had with my lunch, the chicken however was nice. I do recommend this place for breakfast, they cook very good eggs and breakfast meats, I like their pancakes. Corkys is the most friendliest welcoming diner in the Bronx in my opinion . My wife and I get there we are instantly greeted. The waitress already knows what we want. The food is all made by hand , fresh and delicious every time. they also deliver and get to you very quickly . The food also gets to you hot as well .
