I was in the mood for some breakfast so I came over to Tibet diner and ordered a short stack of pancakes with two eggs and toast and my friend got a turkey BLT deluxe sandwich that came with some french fries. The food was delicious. My friend enjoyed their sandwich and I enjoyed my pancakes and eggs and toast. The pancakes were delicious. Eggs over medium were great. You can't really mess that up. My friend enjoyed their sandwich and said it was very delicious. I also had a hot chocolate that was very tasty as well. The service was great. The waiter was very accommodating and attentive. As far as the ambience it's a regular diner with people conversing amongst themselves. No music at all. So that was cool. If I could give zero stars I would. My family went in there every single day for breakfast,except vacations, dinner and lunches several times a week for about at least 10 years if not longer. Well, the owner who knows my dad extremely well barely let my dad in 10 min before opening to use the bathroom and told him to use it out in the street and he wasn't joking. Then the owner proceeded to tell the server who knows everyone personally it ruined his whole day that he had to let my dad in 10 min early to use the bathroom. We visited the diner a few days ago. 3.5 stars. It used to be 4 stars but the food wasn't as good as years past. There was very little air conditioning and it was quite uncomfortable inside. The ambience is nothing at all fancy but has some nostalgia which is really nice as it's like an railroad car and so small but everyone is super friendly and the waitress is old school and pleasant, greeting everyone with a smile. The food is delicious, save your precious time not going to our LOCAL chains and instead get REAL pancakes, with REAL sausage... these pancakes are super fluffy and taste homemade, don't crumble apart when you cut into them. The BLT w/avocado was delicious... I will definitely be back... Keep in mind, it's small so it gets packed quick, especially on the weekends... they have minimal parking for about 7 cars on the sidewalk and there is also metered street parking as well. read more

This is one of the last diners in Riverdale. They have a vast menu with the common diner foods. A friendly staff with quick service. Prices are good. We have eaten here every Sunday morning for many years because the food, service and prices are all stellar. We also come here for lunch and dinner and expect to be here for New Year's Eve. The owners have a garden in front where they grow the spices for the diner; they also grow tomatoes, and have a fig and a peach tree! If I could give them 0 stars I would. I'm visiting the Bronx and wanted a simple French toast topped with bananas. When I got my food it was soggy, it was distressful and I couldn't even swallow a bite after seeing how old those banana were. I also ordered corn beef hash and it was burned up. I'm questioning the quality, the chef, and management for not accommodating me after I spent my money. Y'all are lucky I threw the toppings away before taking this picture. My husband and I both love the Tibbett Diner. It's small, and cozy, and definitely classic diner dining. He loves the Irish breakfast plate (even for dinner) and I tend to experiment with different breakfasts or entrees. I've never been disappointed! Lunch time during the business week has taken my food travels to Kingsbridge in the Bronx. With a co-worker this diner has a small parking lot. Tibbett Diner is named after it's location on Tibbett Avenue. A diner is no diner without booths as cushion seats. We were immediately seated at a booth when suddenly I was sliding from the cushion seat as it had no substance and was not properly manufactured nor installed correctly. We switched tables so our butts was able to anchor in place without sliding. Without clarity, I ordered a fruit salad as was dissatisfied as I should have ordered a burger.
