In the years since my first review, I've never been disappointed by the food and service at Tibbett. Order the onion rings extra crispy and be wowed at how golden delicious they are. The fries are never greasy and I could eat them at breakfast, lunch, dinner -- heck even just for snack time! Great diner vibes and worth the wait in line.

Average. Portion sizes on the smaller side (for a diner) and the food was okay. Not bad, not great, ok. They were slammed but it still took forever to be even recognized that we needed to order. Brown gravy was thin, Reuben was mostly sauerkraut, French fries were stale tasting, but overall it was...ok. Definitely not too pricey, which was a plus.

Ham and cheese omelette with fries

Classic diner that has the speedy service, large plates of food, and busy atmosphere of a place that's long been popular. We ordered typical diner fare, yet every fish coming from the kitchen that passed our counter seats looked fabulous, from steaks to sandwiches to eggs to lattes. I ordered crips potatoes, and my plates was laden with them, complimenting the omelette packed with spinach. The ham and cheese omelette was equally stuffed -- no skimping on these dishes. Prices were decent, reflecting the Bronx not Manhattan. So that plus the friendly faces on all around made for a refreshing, rewarding morning meal.

The ambience is nothing at all fancy but has some nostalgia which is really nice as it's like an railroad car and so small but everyone is super friendly and the waitress is old school and pleasant, greeting everyone with a smile. The food is delicious, save your precious time not going to our LOCAL chains and instead get REAL pancakes, with REAL sausage... these pancakes are super fluffy and taste homemade, don't crumble apart when you cut into them. The BLT w/avocado was delicious... I will definitely be back... Keep in mind, it's small so it gets packed quick, especially on the weekends... they have minimal parking for about 7 cars on the sidewalk and there is also metered street parking as well.

Soggy French Toast

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I'm visiting the Bronx and wanted a simple French toast topped with bananas. When I got my food it was soggy, it was distressful and I couldn't even swallow a bite after seeing how old those banana were. I also ordered corn beef hash and it was burned up. I'm questioning the quality, the chef, and management for not accommodating me after I spent my money. Y'all are lucky I threw the toppings away before taking this picture. Y'all should be ashamed for sending this kind of food out to peoples homes.

Service: 10/10 The employees were very friendly. They were kind and had a nice smile on their face. That is what customers should be looking for when being approached by waiters or waitresses. They were very helpful with the menu option. Food: 10/10 I started with their hot chocolate with whipped cream. Man! It was delicious. The whipped cream, by the way, is optional. It does not automatically come with the hot chocolate. The texture was just right. I picked a good day to drink hot chocolate. I have also ordered their standard Belgian Waffles with a side of sausage. I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed with the quantity of the waffle. They only give you one. Additionally, you'd have to ask for the butter. Butter does not automatically come with the waffles. The syrup is or at least should already be on the table once you're seated. Even though I only got one waffle, it was delicious. Furthermore, you have the option to add whipped cream to the waffles. They will add the whipped cream to the waffles for you. The same can be applied to pancakes. When all is said and done, they will offer you a blow-pop lollipop. Overall 9.5/10 I will be back. I am unsure if they do reservations. It wouldn't be surprising if they did. Their menu options and pricing were reasonable.

It didn't have a jukebox, but everything else transported me right back to the diners I used to visit with my parents. Food: 5/5 Let's be clear--this isn't Michelin-star food, and it's not trying to be. It's classic diner fare, which means it's hearty, familiar, and affordable. I finally satisfied my long-time craving for meatloaf and mashed potatoes--and yes, it hit the spot.My husband went with a cheeseburger and fries, because sometimes, that's all you really want. Both were delicious and perfectly seasoned for what they are. Service: 5/5 You don't come to a diner expecting fine dining service, but you do expect efficiency and kindness--and that's exactly what we got. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our food came out promptly and hot. They accept credit cards, which was a nice plus (but I'd be happy to pay cash too--it's that kind of place). Value: It's rare nowadays to go out and spend just over $120 (after tip) for two entrées, appetizer, and dessert, but that's exactly what we did here--and we left full and satisfied. Final Thoughts: If you're craving no-fuss fries, a hearty plate, and nostalgic diner vibes, this place is 100% worth the visit. I'd gladly go back the next time I need a little comfort food and a break from trendier (and pricier) spots.

The pancakes are some of the best I've ever had. So fluffy and light soaked in the sweet butter syrup. To die for. We weren't in a hurry and we found a seat bench around the corner. They do not offer seats to wait either. The restaurant was small inside but they had enough outdoor seating. I recommend eating inside, if you can. The restaurant is by the Brooklyn bridge and when the subway passes on the bridge and it's like every five minutes, it's soooo loud!!!! It's almost annoying and hard to hear yourself so this would not be a good date if you sat outside. You won't hear each other. We didn't order much but we had coffee, Korean fried chicken and a double stack of their honey butter pancake with berries on top. I have to say how disappointed I was on their Korean fried chicken. It was heavily coated with breading and smothered in sauce. It had a fire kick to it. It was not unbearable. It had ok flavors only but what could you expect from this type of restaurant. Service was ok. So my stars are only for the pancakes. It was delicious! Nothing else I have tasted before. So if you are not here for a date and just to eat, I would give it a try. [45R,2026]

Perfect for a small gathering or large groups, there's a table for everyone!!! I came with a group of 14 and we were accommodated right away in a room just off of the main dining area, it was perfect. The service was excellent and although being a large group and in a separate dining area we never felt neglected or forgotten about. I ordered the chicken and avocado wrap, which was rather bland and, well.... We'll leave it at that, but the challah French toast with Nutella looked delicious and was among the favorites ordered today. I'm told the lox platter was great, and although the bagel was plain, the lox was fresh and tasty which made up for it! They deliver too! Note: I'm giving 4 stars not because it's the best food I have ever eaten, but for a local diner, in the Bronx - it's pretty perfect!!
