We normally go in the restaurant to eat but today I decided to order a delivery. The food is always good and the service is spot on. I like this diner better than the rest in the neighborhood because they don't rush you out here. It's a hidden gem. I ordered my usual grilled chicken wrap with mozzarella cheese. What I love about this place is they grill the chicken to order unlike other diners that grill it early and let it sit there all day. Then they heat it up when you order it and became very rubbery. The reason I know other diners in the neighborhood do this is it takes very little time to get the sandwich. At Dale you have to wait 10-15 minutes to get it and you can taste the freshness. The only problem with this place is there is no parking and right in front the cabs park there to wait for there rides. Other than that this place is a hidden gem and love going there. Breakfast with Bae! Came here on a Tuesday morning. We were able to snag a booth towards the rear of the restaurant. After sitting for what felt like 2mins the waiter came over to take our order. I hadn't even opened the menu yet LOL. I told him we weren't ready and needed some more time. After a few minutes we were ready to place the order so I flagged him down. 5 minutes after he came over to take our order. I had the steak & eggs and my BF had pancakes with eggs and bacon. Overall the meals were decent BUT babyyyyyy within a few hours both of our stomachs were doing the Harlem Shake. I can only assume it was from the eggs because that's the only thing we had the same. Ordered a chicken parm dish from here for delivery and the portion size was huge - definitely enough for two very filling meals. What you get is pretty worth the price you pay. The spaghetti noodles weren't my fave but the chicken was very juicy and cooked well. The flavor of the sauce was great and there seemed to be just the right amount of cheese. I had Salmon Eggs Benedict with home fries, it was excellent except the salmon was too salty; the home fries had pieces of green pepper and onion in it which I like. My friend had eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns and toast. He had so much bacon (six slices) he shared half with me. The portions are large. The coffee was ok. I been a loyal customer of this Diner for over 25 years, I had been with them through all the different owners & servers and never had any kind of problems or issues. Until now, they are under new owners and the quality of food and the way they run the restaurant is going down the hill . First starting with the air conditioning. They keep it in a high temperature so it's almost nonexistent. Second, and this is what made me think and write this review. The food . The quality of the food it's becoming like what you expect in a street vendor . Last week I went to have Breakfast and when my food came It was floating in grease. I have to used a napkin to dry all the grease. That was the last drop for me. I support my neighborhood business. But they have to understand, That we are not asking for anything for free. And they should take care of their clients specifically in an area where there are dozens of restaurants to choose from. If we support them it's because we are loyal, but we expect respect in all aspects in return. I will miss some of the servers because they had become like family. I ordered the "big dale" ranch burger and they asked me how I wanted it cooked, which wasn't the case for several nearby places. The burger, which was $8.50 after tax, exceeded expectations; it won't leave a long-lasting impression, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted more when it was gone. Fortunately, my first experience warranted another visit, because otherwise I would never have had... The Reuben! It was fantastic, immensely filling, and on par with Katz's and Carnegie but at less than half the price. No red in my medium steak -- and that's RARE, even for a steakhouse. I swear, I used to have to send my steak back at Michael Jordan's. So I like this place. It has that neighborhood charm you get in some diners. You can tell from more than the calling of each other's names that the proprietors of the establishment are highly acquainted with the patrons, and patrons have frequented this establishment as a cornerstone of the vicinity. Yup, folks around here like this place, and versa visa. The menu selection is the traditional diner fare. I do notice the lack of any big specialty dishes. At this point though I've been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each of the meals was not "surprising" in any way, but it was a good enough meal that I'd head back. That being said, sometimes it takes a minute for them to get on the ball. Get me a menu, water and the standard set up when I'm not at the counter. So that means the second time I contacted them they're telling me the food didn't leave?! When the first time I contacted them, the delivery was already out?! Smh doesn't add up! The original time frame for delivery was 3:05-3:15. And then after the second inquiry at 3:30 they had the nerve to tell me another 20 min?! Wow. Absolutely terrible service and unacceptable wait time for a wrap and mozz sticks. I don't care how busy it was for a Friday night, no person should have to wait 2hrs for a delivery.
