The hospitality in this place is second to none. I came in at about 7:30am on a Saturday because I was in the area much too early than I needed to be. Kathy greeted me warmly with a smile and informed me I can sit wherever I'd like. I felt so welcomed. There were many seats at the breakfast bar and many tables available. I chose to sit at an empty two top table. The place is very spacious and well lit. Kathy took my order quickly and everything came out quickly, exactly as I ordered and it tasted delicious. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on a role with raw white onions and hot sauce. They did not skimp on the onions or chicken and I loved it so much. I will definitely be back to this place and I recommend anyone in the neighborhood looking for a delicious and affordable breakfast to come here ! Liberty Diner is one of my favorite spots in the Bronx to have breakfast with my family! The food is always fresh, tasty, and served in generous portions. Whether it's pancakes, omelets, or just a good cup of coffee, everything hits the spot. The staff are warm and welcoming, and they make you feel right at home. I love this diner! My wife and I visit , when we are in the area. We have dined in and had take out and always had a nice experience. The food is good and the service is always friendly and very attentive wait staff. They are a small business and we love helping places like this. If you're ever in the area , give them a try. A moderate sized neighborhood diner. Seats about 40 at capacity. The menu has a good variety of dishes. My wife and I arrived at lunch time, the diner was busy and it took about 10 minutes for our server to come to our table. She was cordial. We ordered, I had the sliced steak sandwich. The sandwich came a generous portion of steak on your choice of white or wheat bread or roll, and a choice of sauce on the side. It also came with coleslaw. It was very hot and tasty. This diner doesnt have the classic railcar look to it. It is a normal storefront. From the look of it I wasn't too impressed. It is kind of a little dingy when you walk in. Looks like the place needs a sprucing up. The menu had all the diner classics. I stuck with the omelette with swiss and tomato. It was not good. The omelette was runny and did not taste seasoned at all. My friend got the turkey club and he didnt like it either. The good news was it had wifi which is sometimes doesnt happen at diners. The food was underwhelming and overall the place needs to be revamped. The food, decor, cleanliness needs to be kicked up. Not sure I would come back. read more

This is my absolute favorite diner. I live walking distance from here and have been going to this diner for over 20 years since I was a child. Please note that the name of the establishment is "Liberty Diner". The name that Yelp has appears old and suggests that it is breakfast place specializing in just donuts and coffee. The place is really an excellent Diner that is chock full of great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My family and I always order our Dinner entrees from Liberty because their food is always delicious. I pick up the prepared food about 15 minutes after I call. I am fortunate to live two short blocks away from the Diner. Kathy, who is the owner, usually picks up the phone when I call. She is cheerful and always grateful for our orders. It is always good to see her and chat about how we are doing as I pick up my food orders from her. I highly recommend Liberty Diner. Give it a try and make sure to ask for Kathy! read more

This is my new favorite diner. It's an adorable little diner and really makes you feel at home. The employees are all so sweet and patient. Almost every time I have gone in, Thomas was our server and he is such a sweetheart, he always makes us feel welcome and he also checks in a good amount of times during the meal to make sure everything is good and we have what we need. The food is always great. I do have to say, their apple fritters are THE best, I am not exaggerating. All in all, I highly recommend this diner (especially if you're having a bad day, I promise you'll feel better after being there). read more

I forgot to take a pic of my dish. This place was great! I ordered crispy bacon and i got crispy bacon. The coffee was a lil watery but the rest of the food made up for it. Also the service was great! Its a homey. Friendly environment. The ladies there are great! Deff will go back if im around that side of town. read more

Ah, my first diner review. In the conclusion of my high school experience diners were the only places I'd go to to enjoy the waning days of my youth, so I'd like to think I know a thing or two about diners. At least about diners in this area of the Bronx. There's nothing flashy and I can't really say there is actually anything particularly special about this diner. You probably wouldn't have even notice it was a diner unless you lived in the area but thankfully my chubby Morris Park resident friend was in the mood for some sit in coffee. Anywho, I didn't expect much from this place because diner burgers and chicken parmesans never usually meet up to other restaurant standards when you've lived in New York long enough. I wonder how New Jersey diner burgers taste. Fun Fact: New Jersey has the most diners in the world and is sometimes referred to as the diner capital of the world. Anyways, after not having gone to a diner in so long, I've decided to go back to my original ways for old times sake and ordered chicken fingers. You could never go wrong with chicken fingers, and man, I was not disappointed. I mean they taste like any other diner's chicken fingers, but the only problem I had with this place was that I only had four strips. Quoc Quoc sad. But they certainly make up the lost chicken strip with their excellent service. I guess I'm only writing this review for the service because as soon as we were seated, the waitress had already started socializing with us. At one point she mentioned her daughter, which I thought was a nice way to get personal with her customers. She wasn't in any rush to get our orders and when we did finish, she was very attentive on the status' of our coffee. Food came on a comfortable timely manner and even joked around with us occasionally. I don't know. I just like nice service and their cake was delicious. 4 stars was a group decision. A GROUP DECISION! And I think the tax came out to be lower than what it should've been. read more

The staff is very nice and friendly but the chefs have to work on the quality of their meals. In particular, their burger deluxe meals. I believe a good ol' American cheeseburger with french fries and a pickle is a staple at diners. I ordered a Swiss Cheeseburger Deluxe that came with my burger, fries, pickle, cole slaw, lettuce, and tomato. I ordered my patty medium-rare. The fries were COLD, not crispy at all. The patty was more like medium rather than medium rare. The pickle was limp and didn't look fresh. It didn't have that stiffness and crunch! The buns on the burger were very thin and didn't hold the burger together. It was so soggy with all the mayo and butter. The cabbage in the cole slaw wasn't crunch. It didn't smell fresh. Overall, if you're looking for a quick burger fix you wouldn't satisfy it here. However, points for the staff and cozy welcoming atmosphere. read more

Came here to have a birthday breakfast with my family but we were very dissatisfied. I love food and I love to eat so if I don't finish my food then you know something is off. Food was subpar and very dry in my opinion and the place itself needed A LOT of cleaning. Was very dirty in some obvious places. It could also use a renovation. read more

Good service, decent food, friendly staff...food is just a little over priced for the neighborhood. $12 for a cheese burger deluxe is a bit much when the going rate in the area is $8 - $9. When each item is $2-$4 over priced... IT CAN ADD UP!!! read more

Good Diner food made with Love ... When you walk through the front door, the owner and his daughter always BEAMS a smile at you. This is by far my favorite diner in the Bronx--possibly my favorite anywhere. The food is excellent; the staff is great and friendly; the place is clean. When I lived in Pelham Gardens I came here all the time. Even though we don't live in the Bronx anymore, my wife and I still think and talk about Liberty. Favorite menu items are the cheeseburger, club sandwich, gyro, and beef barley soup. Especially the beef barley soup. Good coffee too. read more

I give this diner high marks first and foremost because it doesn't have a huge screen television on, (a pet peeve of mine, if I wanted to watch tv I'd stay home!) nor do they have some depressing popular radio station playing which is proliferate at the restaurants and nail establishments here in Morris Park/Pelham Parkway. I had a decent Italian omelet which came with home fries, coffee, juice, toast and then I ordered a muffin all for $10.60! You cant beat the price. I look forward to trying other things on their menu. read more

I paid, no tip and when I got the box I didn't bother to look as I just wanted to put as much distance between her and I as quickly as possible, there was also a kids birthday party going on surrounding us so that also made me want to run. The donuts looked good and everyone at brunch laughed and said they were cute. No man wants to ever hear anything that starts with "aw that's tiny but cute". Donuts were good. We fought over who got what and there was definitely not enough. I wish the bitchy lady at the donut place explained what I was ordering as I never would have guessed 2 dozen donuts would be so unsatisfying. I would have bought 4 dozen had I known... So, donuts good, experience very bad. Too expensive for what I got and customer lost. Too many other places that want our money. Please do better.

Only on their classic donuts but to my surprise all of the classic donuts were so good, although I did want to try some of their signature flavors too. This shop is small and has a couple of tables to sit down at. They have hot drinks available along with a fridge for cold beverages to purchase. The lady who assisted me was so sweet, so friendly and it was nice to come all the way from the city and be greeted with such lovely hospitality. She was working by herself and she had a couple of other customers waiting, but made everyone feel like a priority. She was a natural professional lol. The prices were quite pricey, which each donut flavor having its own price, my box of minis with tax and tip were about 40 bucks! Although I can't complain because I got a box free. I also can tell my donuts were freshly made with quality ingredients and the flavors are true to its donuts name. Although my visit was really for the banana foster, my favorite turned out to be the cannoli. They nailed that donut true to its original interpretation of what a cannoli is but made into a donut. My daughters loved the flavors of their selections although the strawberry cheesecake was a bit sweeter than she expected and liked. A bit overwhelming is how she put it. She would have been satisfied with just the mini size. Overall I think the next time I'm in town I may stop by for a half of dozen of minis because of the prices and because some flavors were better than others.
