I 1000% would recommend the dad bod which is a glazed donut with sausage egg and cheese. Almost like thier McGriddle but better! The location is very tiny so don't really expect to sit and eat here. The donuts are light fluffy yeast (which in itself is actually flavorful) and the glaze and toppings are creative and delicious. My all time favorite is the Cinnamon Sugar but on occasion you can find specialty donuts like the out of this world Guava & Cheese . Upon entering the shop the fresh baked donut aroma had my mouth watering. The service was great. The young lady who prepared my Dubai pistachio chocolate latte was so friendly (and helpful with selecting my donuts) that I returned for more coffee and donuts the next day. It was my day off so I hopped on over to the shop for the first time. Saw a post about them last week and knew I had to check them out and happy to say I wasn't disappointed. The shop is small but quint. I loved the leaf wall with the words "I liked it, so it's mine". The Bronx, in comparison to the rest of our NYC boroughs, doesn't have as much variety in specialty restaurants, cafe, or shops. So when a unique business pops up, I love to patronize them! The donuts are in clear view, and as I waited they were bringing out fresh ones. Additionally, they offer a variety that seems to rotate throughout the year. I picked up a few flavors: the guava and cheese, samoa, strawberry cinnabun, cinnabun, and Boston cream. When I got home, my husband and I sampled a piece of each donut, and they were delicious. Light and fluffy, but packed with flavor. Grounds does not skimp on ingredients! Additionally, I purchased a pistachio Dubai style latte and cold brew with oatmilk to pair with our donuts. While we appreciated the lattes as early morning pick-me-ups, my husband and I found the espresso to be on the bitter side, which unfortunately isn't our favorite. If you think all donuts are created equal, you are wrong. I am on a restricted diet in which case I could only eat half of 1 donut every day. I tried all the flavors within a week and they were still so soft. Their sugar does not leave a waxy feeling on the roof of the mouth ever which is why I was so impressed. 10/10!!!! Walked in 1 minute past closing and they weren't even mad. Plenty of donuts left and all still tasted fresh. Our servers were so nice and gave us all the recommendations. I only bought 2 donuts but we they gave us a few more because they were about to close. Everything was delicious and the dough was so fluffy. I've been to this place a few times and the menu seems to blow me away every time. The donuts are amazing! The coffee is made to order with extreme attention to detail. I had to stop by just to get a Ube latte which is a purple yam latte to say for the most part and I promise it's so yummy. It's creamy while balancing the natural sweetness from the yam and the caffeine definitely worth a try. Customer service 5/5 the staff here is very helpful especially if you need suggestions Ambiance: 5/5 although there is only 2 seats inside and not much space to chill and hang out especially if crowded. The graffiti on wall makes for a great conversation piece as well as the grass wall on the other side for photos. I went to this little spot near the Whitestone Bridge a few weeks ago, and have been meaning to come back soon. It's really small, with one table and a tiny counter ledge, with one cafe table outside, but the staff are really willing to share their favorite selections with you for a to go order. I got a creme brûlée doughnut which was amazing for the glaze to have the crack on top and creamy icing on a light and fluffy, well risen yeast doughnut. My husband had the banana pudding doughnut, with the same experience of light airiness. Got him a cookies and cream doughnut as well, which he loved. Hope to come back soon. read more

The donuts are very pretty and elaborate depending on its flavors however I learned that unless you get them freshly made they're pretty dry or tough. The coffee was a miss for me way too sweet. I tried to get different versions of their lattes all seem to be super sweet. The decor in that place is beautiful. Came here driving from Westchester to Queens and I'm so glad I did! I have a feeling this will be my to go spot when I make my trips over the throgs neck. The staff was helpful and friendly. I got 2 coffee cake, one churro and one guava/cheese. They gave me recommendations and made me a nice iced coffee, perfect in my opinion. I'm not a big coffee drinker but this one hit the spot for that coffee flavor I was craving. The donuts are not only pretty but also flavorful and filling. I got 4 because my eyes are much bigger than my stomach. I had half of one and was full. But I have no doubt these won't go to waste! The guava donut was $5 and the other three were $4 each. My fellow Bronx friend, Jason M, had given me the 411 on Grounds a few days ago. My other Bronx friend, Pat F. posted some Grounds D. pictures. So, I wanted to see for myself. To be honest, I kind of took my eyes off this address ever since the beloved closing of the previous business, Miles Coffee Bar left more than a somber note on many of us who've visited. But turning a new leaf, Grounds Donut moved in. I'm strongly attempting not to compare Miles Coffee Bar to Grounds Donut because they're two different owners- but I can't help it. Anyhow. Grounds is pinks, blacks, skulls- unlike what Miles stood for. There I go again- comparing both. Shut yo mouth, Mercy. Anyhow. Grounds has about 2 sit-down pink tables outside and since the weather remains mild, these will come handy- especially, since it's just grab-n-go. Truthfully, I'm not a donut person. But I'm a hardcore sweets one. So if I'm getting sweets of any kind, they gotta be good. And if I go for donuts, it's probably once in a super rare blue moon AND they have to be yeasty. You know which one: the kind that has a great chew. Since I don't drink coffee, I settled on a lite ice Thai spiced something with oat milk. It was tasty- but the 'lite ice' request fell on deaf ears and I got a lot of ice. Donuts are big and decided on the Cookies n Cream with Oreo cookie crumbs. I loved the super upbeat energy from the girls behind the counter and they were very helpful. These folks don't skimp on ingredients because the entire upper part of the donut was in fact covered in crumbs. However, my donut felt stiff and when I pulled it apart, it broke in a block. There's just something about doughnuts - they're my carb-centric dessert of choice and whenever I get the chance to try new varieties, I jump on it. That being said, when I learned that a new doughnut spot was opening in the Bronx I immediately got excited. Their website and socials looked great, so I made plans to visit today while running a few errands. This is Grounds' second location - their original is in Danbury which two of my friends frequent; they had great things to say about their doughnuts which further pumped me up. This Grounds is located in Throggs Neck, in the space that used to be the Miles Coffee Bar. I'll be honest, writing this review is bittersweet for me; I loved the Miles - it was a unique spot in the borough and I was sad to see it go. I'm happy, though, that a spot like this took its place. The customer space isn't large; the seating area and back patio that was part of the Miles is closed off to the public, and upon walking in you're immediately greeted by the ordering counter and display of doughnuts. I imagine this had to be done do accommodate baking the doughnuts, since to my knowledge the Miles' kitchen space was not large. Decor was kind of sparse, though they installed a living wall with a hip saying hanging from it in neon - such modern. They had about 10 to 12 varieties of doughnuts on display - tried and true varieties as well as some fun flavor combos. I heard they change up their offerings every weekend, which I think is great since you can get something different every time you go. I decided to pick up a half dozen to bring home and share: cookies and cream, chocolate glazed, cinnamon sugar, chocolate frosted, Samoa cookie, and Cocoa Pebbles cereal. Their cold brew was also speaking to me, so I grabbed one of those. I thought the doughnuts were pretty good - the consistency of the yeast doughnuts were slightly too bread-like for my personal taste, but they did a good job with the flavors. Specifically, the flavors were prominent without sacrificing the quality of the doughnut as a whole. The more classic varieties were my favorites, but I thought they did a good job with their fun ones too - especially the Cocoa Pebbles. The coffee was good. Service was fast and friendly - they were eager to help and before I knew it I was out the door with my treats. Overall, I'm glad Grounds opened a spot here in Throggs Neck. They're not the best doughnuts I've had, but independent doughnut shops in this area are few and far between, so I'm excited to see what they bring to the neighborhood.
