It had been 8 years since my last visit, but now I'm back! I ordered take-out for lunch as I kicked off a new healthy diet. I informed the cashier about my food allergies. The weather was in the high 70s today. Signature Wraps Havana *my favorite* + spinach wrap + lettuce + tomato + brown rice + black beans + grilled chicken breast - no avocado Mmm, I dipped the Havana wrap into their tasty sun-dried tomato sauce. One word: Scrumptious Bookmark this spot to try!

Caribbean salad
Isabel J.

My sister recommended this spot and I was really in the mood for a salad so I decided to come by. I went with the Caribbean salad which consist of chicken, avocado and mandarin on top of greens. The salad was good but I don't think it was worth the $18 price tag.

For starters, The place was nice and clean. I ordered the Peanut Lover smoothie. It was okay but had a lot of chunky pieces in it. I was looking for something a little smoother. I'll definitely go back but would order something different.

Organic Acai Bowl

Was craving an açaí bowl and this place definitely satisfied that craving. I ordered the organic açaí bowl ($10.34) with almond milk. It comes with strawberries, blueberries, bananas and granola. I was highly impressed with how big the portion was and they didn't skimp out on the toppings so you definitely get your money's worth. The fruit was extremely fresh and the açaí bowl kept my tummy happy. Will definitely be back to try the juices and smoothies that they have. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who's in the area and looking for something healthy to fuel their body!

Chicken Caesar Wrap

I love JFL Bayside! They have such a great menu that offers a healthy, delicious option for anyone! My favorite is the chicken caesar wrap. The chicken is seasoned and marinated perfectly. Tastes delicious and is always cooked perfectly! The wraps always come with a slice of fresh fruit which is a nice touch - usually a grapefruit. All of the juices are delicious but my favorite is the Adam Apple, which is kale, lemon, ginger, and apple (seen in the picture attached along with the wrap) - very refreshing and energizing! If you are in the area and are looking for a healthy juice, smoothie, wrap, or fitness bowl, you should definitely pop in and give this place a try! 5 stars from me :)

Behold the giant bug in my wrap
Angelica V.

I debated posting this because we frequent JFL often, and the JFL team is so awesome. Ultimately, I felt the need to share so other people don't have the unfortunate experience that I had. Ordered my usual wrap yesterday, upon getting my order, I opened it up to add the dressing, and behold a GIANT bug, I assume a roach, in the wrap, wings and all. (Not what I meant when I said extra protein) After the initial shock, and dry heaving for a few moments, I called, and they refunded my order. A refund is great, but what I really need now is therapy. The team is great, and I still love you JFL, it's nothing personal, but please do better.

Great food with great services, literally ordered everyday in person or Uber or Postmates ! Can't wait try all their food , healthy food!

This is the Havana wrap no rice. No chicken....

The food is bland and the service is pretty bad. You call and they say 20 minutes and you end up waiting an hour. Then you get barely get any chicken (yummy I love lettuce wraps -_-) They need to work on their service and portions.

2. Nutty Teriyaki Chicken Wrap
Lisa V.

The Nutty chicken teriyaki wrap is a wrap you can always count on!! This wrap is simple, yet so delicious. The wrap comes with teriyaki seasoned chicken, lettuce, and tomato, but what really puts the wrap over the edge is the delicious nutty sauce it comes with. The wrap is a good portion, and comes with a slice of grapefruit on the side. I always look forward to eating here and am never disappointed. Another wonderful thing juice for life offers is oatmeal with blueberries and strawberries. It is perfectly blended together using almond milk. I highly recommend juice for life for breakfast or lunch!!

Simon S.

Recommendation: Order online and pickup. Don't order takeout in store. Pro: 1. Cool and friendly staff 2. Lots of healthy selections 3. Staff working non stop Con: 1. Waited 32 minutes to takeout the Caesar Salad in the picture... cmon team... the romaine base was left in and not properly rinsed.

Right around when Covid hit, Health Nuts closed it's doors for good and the community was devastated (I truly was). Since then I haven't found a local shop like that at all. Then fast-forward to last week, I went in search of Sea Moss. I was looking for raw, unprocessed sea moss, and when I did a search, his shop came up. Excitedly, I took the ride to Neil's (10 minutes from where I am in Bayside). This unassuming little shop packs a big punch. He did not have the raw, unprocessed sea moss, but did in fact have the already processed ones. The jars are labeled with dates and refrigerated. There are quite a few fridge's filled with fresh foods and drinks, as well as shelves stocked with whatever you could possibly need or want. If you don't find it, and he doesn't have it, Neil will help you get it! I wish I would've taken photos, but was too busy having a super pleasant conversation with Neil. From being there only a short time, it's quite obvious he has regular customers who have been shopping there for years, and it's also quite obvious that he treats both his longtime customers, and newbies who just walked through the door for the first time - exactly the same. Warm, friendly and makes you feel very comfortable asking questions, as his knowledge is amazing. **** Side note: Neil suffered a stroke last year, and thankfully he has made an amazing recovery and is doing well. NY Tung Ren Tang is a mid sized Chinese Herbal Store in bustling Flushing. It's stocked full of products such as face-wash, soaps, candies, dried fruits, teas, medicine and of course, the Chinese "cure all" - Ginseng. Black sesame seed nut candies were displayed in plastic boxed shelves at $3.49 a pound and I stopped in my tracks- I had to buy some. Amazingly, the smell of rose and jasmine wafted by, from a neighboring plastic box shelf and immediately reminded me of my poa poa. As I peered in, I realized that it was filled with Bee & Flower company soaps (traditional Chinese soap from the old generation) and I became so nostalgic that I knew that I had to buy a bunch. I bought the Jasmine, Rose and Sandlewood. My poa poa used the Rose for herself and Jasmine to wash me when I was a child. The beauty of these soaps are that they're incredibly fragrant and long lasting (even though they are a tad smaller, compared to regular Western bars). I was glad to see that they were 80 cents per bar, even though you can buy them at 45- 50 cents a bar in other Chinese shops if you looked hard enough. To me, this was a good enough deal, especially since it brought back such wonderful memories of my grandmother and doubles as a perfume after usage. When I paid for the items, the nice woman at the counter smiled and commented, "Fragrant isn't it? One never forgets... " No... one never does.

He continued yelling at me at that point he was very Hostile as if he was going to physically touch me coming towards me another gentleman that works there had to hold him back which was very uncomfortable and a bit ghetto for me. I thought, as if I was dealing with someone in the street and not in a business establishment I was calm at first, but as he kept going and disrespecting me in front of people, that's when I felt a little bit threatened by the situation. All I was gonna do was return that one thing literally that one thing but because again he was so unprofessional and very nasty I decided i no longer wanted his service so I returned everything I guess he did not like the fact I tried to explain to him what he gave me was not what I asked for or it was not the actual pure product so at that point again that's why I feel he was very angry.which make no sense to me if a customer is there saying they no longer want to purchase something that should not be a issue and let me make this clear that is the 1st time I ever did or ask them to do that He than proceeded to tell me that I wasted his time which again was not cool to say to a customer you are there to help he seemed annoyed when I was asking questions or asking about prices. I just wanted to make sure that I had enough for what I was getting because I was getting more things than the usual Let's make this clear again whenever a customer comes into a business establishment trying to make a purchase and spends money it should never be a waste of time that's your job to sell things. You should be happy. that's the second time that I went to that location and something was different. If you ask for dandelion root that's what you should be given when I asked the other gentleman his name at the end he didn't give me his name. He then proceeds to pull a little tag off wall and says that's his name which did not seem correct to me but at that point I just said OK And left I recorded the whole encounter so that's fine

The name Liu Liu (六六) is a nod to "66" which serves as a clever word play on two potential cultural references: the popular Chinese idiom "六六大顺" (may everything go smoothly) and the traditional Shanghainese/Jiangnan birthday celebration (六六寿). It's most likely the play on words for seamless business and good fortune, paired with a cool logo featuring the Chinese hand gesture for "6" which resembles the western "hang loose" sign. On weekends, there is almost always a wait during peak hours. Anyone looking to avoid crowds should consider weekday off hours, though even then, a line can form. The stall located in the corner neighboring Xian Cuisines (#3), which likely benefits from the massive crowds gathering here daily. The hype is real. Their self-coined "pan buns" are fabulous, filled with rich, juicy pork and a nicely crispy bottom. They are cooked in front of customers in large, specialty cast iron skillets and are offered at 6 pieces for $10 and 8 pieces for $12. There are noodle soup combos that also include curry beef vermicelli soup (咖喱牛肉粉丝汤) and the traditional single tier (?) soup (单档汤) and the classic double-tier soup (双档汤). Cash is king at New World Mall, so be sure to be flexible with waiting time and finding a seat. While many folks opt for to-go orders, I would strongly advise against takeout because it won't do these freshly made baos justice.
