My first experiences was unfortunately my last - I had a plain wrap with lettuce, brown rice, chicken, almonds, broccoli, mushrooms and the spicy cashew dressing - all tasted fine and then I started getting this after-taste that was off putting so I finished at the halfway mark... Looking for a health place and found this place. Ordered spicy poke. It was good. Only recommendation it was a bit too much rice so if you are looking for low carb I would opt for half rice and half mixed salad and ask for sauce on side. Def coming back to try their salads next time. read more

Always fresh, never too long a wait. There's not alot of salad/health places in Bayside area so Health Kitchen was a great find for me. First time trying this place and boy was I happy I did ! Got the spicy poke bowl . Tuna Brown Rice Edamame Crispy onions Sesame seeds Cucumber With a spicy tuna mayo - super fresh and spicy ! They have many juice options as well . I got the pink lemonade- red apple , ginger , and lemon . Sooo good ! Place is clean , staff are friendly and nice and they have snacks , oatmeal and other grab and go options as well. Smoothies too and açaí bowls ! Very fresh and clean ingredients. I am on a work trip and I've been to Health Kitchen every day while I'm here. The owner is very nice, and I'm so glad I found a great, healthy restaurant while I'm away from home. I also recommend the energy bites and protein muffins. read more

We've only ever done take out from here. So my review is only based on that. As Acai bowls go, Health Kitchen does an above average job with them. This has become our go to place to order these in Queens. I'm pretty picky about my acai bowls. They have to be just right, and these really are ... They have a good variety of options, which for someone like me makes a big difference. So having the create your own option is a plus. Jury is still out on their other offerings. Hubby had the Thai Chicken Cashew Salad with arugula, romaine lettuce, corn, cucumbers, cabbage, cilantro, chicken, spicy sunflower seeds... It seemed to be mostly a winner. He didn't LOVE it. But he liked it. Not my favorite. But the poke bowls are definite winners here. We've pretty much have this place on our UberEats favorite and repeat list, something few places make it on. read more

Food tasted off and bitter. I tried the coconut protein pudding,Oreo granola, and Acai bowl None of them tasted good. Acai bowl is one of my favorite health foods and I have had it at many other places and they all taste fantastic. This one just didn't taste good to me, top part was dry and weird. This place is the best health food bar in Queens. I came in one day and they were swamped with customers. One of the employees was getting a shake on her off day. I always used to order the Asian chopt. Like religiously. I started hearing friends say that they have been getting sick from the food. I didn't think much of it and decided to give it another try since I never seemed to have a problem with the bowl. The food to begin with is nothing to write home about. But it was always okay. I ordered the Asian chopt in a wrap that was supposed to be one of their "warm" wraps. It came cold. The dough of the wrap was like rubber and I couldn't chew. The food bothered my stomach for a whole day. Spinach was wilted as well. No shade to the business just putting my experience out there! read more

Love the new addition to the neighborhood. We were overdue for a açaí poke bowl type spot. This guy nailed it, the food is delicious and the store has so much to offer. Might i add he had CBD drinks? Got the spicy tuna poke bowl for takeout during covid times. Safety regulations were adhered to in terms do spacing, plexiglass, and masks. I substituted rice for salad and they had a few options, I went with the romaine lettuce. The poke bowl was good portions and ingredients were fresh. I think it could have been a little more flavorful with more seasoning but overall was still a delicious bowl! I like that this spot has a lot of healthy to go / mini mart items as well. They had a good selection of health bars and snacks, juices, etc. I also picked up a vitamin c shot and ginger shot. read more

Updating my review because it makes me so sad to see all these poor reviews. I am addicted to health kitchen. I get it at least once a week, at most four :). I love their salad, rice and poke bowls. I always build my own, not because they have don't have good selection already but I'm just picky. I feel like that's the reason for all the negative reviews, it's all subject to taste. Those who left bad reviews should give health kitchen one more try and build their own items personal to their tastes. The only thing I don't like from them is their smoothies, I just feel they aren't fruity enough mostly milk. I am not taking a star off for that because I've gotten smoothies for my mom and brother and they've loved them, so again subject to taste. I'm about to order and build my own smoothie to give it one more chance though :) One thing I wish is they had more selection for the BYO poke. I think you can only choose 4 veggies and I love packing my lunches with veggies! read more

I travel for work and I stopped for a quick lunch to go. This was my first time here and it was great! The staff were super friendly and my lunch was great. I got the Sriracha Bowl but added cucumber and broccoli and removed corn. I also got a side of spicy cashew dressing which was a great addition. The food was very fresh- even being fresh cut for the day right as I was ordering! Nothing was greasy or weird and the veggies were very fresh. The portion size was great- you definitely get a good serving and the price was reasonable. The restaurant was also very clean and modern- seems new. We have been wanting to order from HK for a long time. And today we finally did. At first we were thinking about ordering a build your own salad. But then after all of the options it just got to be a bit much so we decided to ditch that and order açaí bowls. We did the build your own and it turned out pretty well. The peanut butter that I ordered in mine was a bit mealy. It tasted like it wasn't the best quality. The açaí itself was superb. It had no ice chunks in it. The mixture was blended perfectly. I really enjoyed it very much. The next time I will order almond butter instead of the peanut butter. Hopefully it's better quality. Other than that it was pretty great. read more

One of my favorite places on the right day. Unfortunately extremely inconsistent. It's hard to spend $12 on a shake when sometimes it's so amazing and other times not good at all. What's also a shame, for me, is that on my recent visit my friend ordered the Steamed Seafood in Lemongrass and this is perhaps the top, or one of the top dishes on the menu. The seafood flavors and balances the slightly spicy lemongrass broth making this a crave worthy bowl. I ordered something out of my wheelhouse - the Coconut Spicy Lemongrass Soup, which on online order menu states its a popular dish. I couldn't see why this dish is so popular because I find other items on the menu superior. They make a tasty pho (especially when paired with a marrow bone). Their sandwiches are well made - I enjoy the different fish ones. I think their Vietnamese coffee could use some work - it is blander than other versions I had tried. Don't be too sad and maybe feel a little optimistic because owner Petra Rickman has a great track record opening interesting, in demand restaurants (This one and Taco Azul have been longtime go-tos in Whitestone). Additionally G&L has a 2nd location with the same menu in Manhattan, which unfortunately for a Queens boy like myself is a bridge too far and a congestion pricing too high for me to make the trek.

Wow the salads here are absolute top notch. They give a ton of food with unique dressings I never really saw anywhere else. No garbage like ranch and thousand island out of bottle but amazing freshly made dressings. I've tried the Pesto Bowl (their best seller) and the wild orchard and both were incredible and extremely different. This area was in desperate need of something out of the ordinary and i'm happy they were able to deliver, and then some. Also, very friendly and engaging staff. A++ all around. read more

This place has so much potential but the staff is so bad. Every time I go in there's at least 5 people behind the counter doing nonsense. This time I went in I timed how long it took for at least one of them to accommodate me 4 mins! They all saw me standing there and not one person said can I help you? Or told someone else to help me. I work in customer service and the first priority is the customer! Not putting spoons away. The food is very good though. read more

If you want something healthy, a quick drink, salad, or something new, health kitchen is the right place. The place and food is sanitary and that's a major minority of mines. My favorite is the açaí bowls. The employees are very friendly and welcoming, and they're quick when making your food. Health kitchen is overall a great place to grab something quick to eat.
