    Fiesta bowl

Always fresh, never too long a wait. There's not alot of salad/health places in Bayside area so Health Kitchen was a great find for me. I've tried a few of their bowls and salads and they never disappoint. A smidge on the pricy side but everything's rising in prices these days. Plus side: they never stimp on chicken!

We've only ever done take out from here. So my review is only based on that. As Acai bowls go, Health Kitchen does an above average job with them. This has become our go to place to order these in Queens. I'm pretty picky about my acai bowls. They have to be just right, and these really are ... They have a good variety of options, which for someone like me makes a big difference. So having the create your own option is a plus. Jury is still out on their other offerings. Hubby had the Thai Chicken Cashew Salad with arugula, romaine lettuce, corn, cucumbers, cabbage, cilantro, chicken, spicy sunflower seeds... It seemed to be mostly a winner. He didn't LOVE it. But he liked it. Not my favorite. But the poke bowls are definite winners here. We've pretty much have this place on our UberEats favorite and repeat list, something few places make it on.

Food tasted off and bitter. I tried the coconut protein pudding,Oreo granola, and Acai bowl None of them tasted good. Acai bowl is one of my favorite health foods and I have had it at many other places and they all taste fantastic. This one just didn't taste good to me, top part was dry and weird. The bottom was too artificial flavor and sweet.

My husband and his daughter thoroughly enjoyed the food here with freshness and flavor. They highly recommend it. Attached are pics of the awards they've received for Best Healthy Eatery.

I am offended by how small my salad was for a$14 salad this isn't what I expected BUT this place is like the Starbucks of salads and smoothies. It's really a treat. We got the peanut butter cup protein shake. Amazing.

I'm trying to be healthier and the food here is good. I don't particularly see the value in the portion-price but the food is fresh and flavorful enough for me to overlook the fact that I wanted some more in the bowl and go 4 stars for these folks.

A little bit pricey but it is quality food. It's a small spot but they make the food fast. Workers are always cool.

Hello. Can you make an option on UberEats or other delivery platforms for dressing on the side? I think customers would appreciate having the option to control how dressed their salads are. Thank you for considering this.

Thank you Chris. I will absolutely add it to all platforms. HK.

    Do they deliver?

Yes, we use third party delivery services such as uber eats and doordash

From the outside, it looked unassuming, but I was curious enough to step inside. The place is run by a nice, friendly Asian owner who immediately gave off a warm, welcoming energy. He greeted me with a smile and made me feel comfortable right away, which set the tone for the visit. The menu features seven types of ramen, covering the main classics you'd expect to find in Japan--everything from miso to shoyu, vegetarian, tonkotsu, and more. It's the kind of menu that isn't overwhelming but still offers a variety of flavors for different preferences. They have rice bowls, to self built poke-bowl, I usually go for miso ramen, so I stuck with what I know and added beef as my protein choice. When the bowl arrived, the presentation was neat and appetizing. The broth had a nice golden-brown color, with noodles sitting just beneath the surface, slices of beef layered on top, and half an egg resting alongside. The aroma was rich yet not overpowering. The first sip of the broth instantly impressed me--it wasn't overly salty or heavy, but instead had a clean, well-balanced flavor that still carried depth. One thing I appreciated was that it didn't leave that dry, salty aftertaste that makes you guzzle water afterward. It was flavorful enough that I actually drank the broth down almost entirely, which I rarely do. The beef was tender and worth the extra $1 upgrade--it added more substance to the bowl and paired nicely with the miso broth. The only part that caught me off guard was the "extra egg." I paid an additional $1 for it, but instead of getting another whole egg, I simply received the other half of the one that was already included. It made me laugh a little when I realized, and although I felt slightly embarrassed asking, I let it go. It wasn't a big deal, more of a funny moment than anything else. As for the taste overall, I'd say the miso ramen leans toward the lighter side. To some people, it might come across as a bit mild compared to richer, heavier ramen you'd get at big-name shops, but for me, it was refreshing and enjoyable. I could see myself craving it on days when I want something flavorful but not overly rich. What really stood out during the visit was the service. The owner came out a couple of times to check on me, asking how I was enjoying the ramen. He even suggested I try the tonkotsu ramen next time, which he described as creamier and more full-bodied if I wanted something richer. I appreciated his attentiveness--not just toward me, but toward all the other guests as well. He moved around the restaurant, making sure everyone was comfortable, and you could tell he genuinely cared about their experience. That kind of interaction adds a personal touch that makes small neighborhood spots like this so special. The restaurant itself has a cozy, casual vibe. It's not flashy or overly decorated, but it has a clean and simple setup that makes you feel at ease. It feels like the kind of place you could easily make a regular stop, whether you're grabbing a quick lunch, a solo dinner, or even bringing a friend for a casual meal. All in all, I had a really good experience. The food was satisfying, the atmosphere was laid-back, and the owner's hospitality made it even better. Even with the little egg mishap, I left happy and already planning my next visit. Next time, I'll definitely be trying the tonkotsu ramen, and maybe even exploring the poke options too. This is the kind of local gem I'm glad I found within walking distance of home.

Bathrooms are clean (one men's and one women's on opposite side of the restaurant, but they're individual, so I'm sure you could go into whichever if need be). There is a small call button on each table, as they can be busy making the food. Service is always great though. The hot tea is soothing. They do have a decent selection of alcohol. The complimentary salad is fresh (grape tomatoes, mango, radish, mozzarella, red onions, grilled chicken) with a light vinaigrette. The complimentary banchan has a good flavor, especially the jalapeno/onion banchan. It's got quite a kick to it! The complimentary soup is light, but still has good flavor. It's great for the cooler weather. The Tako Wasabi is one of the better variations I've had. I love that it comes with seaweed! It adds great texture and extra flavor. The Tako Wasabi has the right amount of wasabi to help clear up the sinuses. It is balanced with the fresh herbs and cucumber. The Chili Mayo Fish Jerky was a newer starter, so I had to try it. I love that it's cut like chips and warmed up slightly. Great flavors with a bit of a kick. Must get if you love fish jerky. I usually get the Flying Fish Roe Rice. It has a great variety of flying fish roe plated neatly on top a perfectly cooked rice. Be sure to press the rice against the (super hot) bowl to get as much crispy bits as possible. I enjoy the eating it with the seaweed. Consistently great Korean spot.

Started off with a Tsingtao (Chinese Beer) smooth and refreshing, a solid choice with hibachi. There was a bit of a wait for the chef to come out, but once he did, it was totally worth it. He struck the perfect balance--entertaining without overdoing it. We ordered the steak, scallops, lobster, and shrimp, and everything came out cooked perfectly. Portions were generous enough that we even had leftovers to take home for the next day, which is always a plus. I really liked the light-up hibachi tables, a nice modern touch. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable, and the service throughout was good. Overall, the place looks great, the food was on point, and the vibe was just right. Between my first review and now, Ikko has maintained their relevance. They've kept up by offering decent Asian inspired apps and entrees. At the tail end of Covid they pivoted to include Seafood Boils as an option. Not a fan of boils so unsure how that option is going. Another option, Hibachi, which we also are not big fans of, unless forced upon us by friends or family. Is prepared on these red glowing tables and appears to appeal to the masses, so that's a good thing. During our visits, generally on the early side of dinner hours, service has always been attentive and our meals, most often than not are prepared as expected. There has been the occasional slight hiccup while dining in or when ordering for delivery, but nothing major. The aesthetics of this place continues to appeal with their colorful facade. And their interior is just as inviting with ambient lighting of red hues throughout the restaurant, enhancing the Asian inspired statues and textured wall designs. It's nice that Ikko has kept up with this large piece of real estate, providing decent meals and continuing to keeping themselves relevant within the neighborhood.
