Ordered delivery via Seamless. (I'm not too far) Stars given for Karaage which was great - good bite sized pieces. Salad was wet and soggy from the mostly watered down ginger dressing. White rice was cold. My Cali rolls were poorly packed in the to-go container, immediately fell apart once I tried to pick up and the fresh ginger was more like thawed ginger from the freezer. Pork gyoza lacked on flavor. Straight forward pork based filling. Nothing here shouted that i need to come back for more. It's a no for next time.

Been here a few times. Not good, not bad. If you are ballin on a budget and really want sushi this is a decent choice. If you want quality search elsewhere. (Maki 3 Roll Combo: philly roll, California roll, Brooklyn roll)

It is my opinion that this place is underrated. It's a "hole in the wall" place that can easily be missed. Both the sushi and their traditional Japanese fare is good. The food is delicious and the portion good. The only problem with this place is that the staff are not overly enthusiastic but I don't mind it as it is a "take out" place and not a "sit down" place.

I ordered the 3 rolls special and it came with a miso soup. The sushi rolls were very neatly placed in a box with a good amount of ginger and wasabi. The fish was fresh but the rice was prefect on one tray and a little mushy on the other. I wanted to choose shrimp tempura but it wasn't one of the options when I ordered online. The crunchy salmon is a combination of spicy mayo, raw salmon, and fried panko, which I thought was better than spicy tuna rolls out there.

Rotten Kani Salad. Don't buy it! They won't even offer to replace it!

This has got to be the worst Japanese takeout place I've ordered from! The Kani Salad was spoiled to some unrecognizable bitterness! Phoned the business to let them know that the kani salad was bad and the guy didn't even say sorry! I did them the favor by warning them not to serve it to other people. What a jerk! The rolls sucked too!!! YUCK YUCK YUCK! Grosssssssssss

Thought we would try out this new place in the neighborhood. Seems to be Chinese run. Good for take-out when a quick sushi fix is needed. Place was quite small with three 4 person tables and the sushi bar. A varied menu with all the standard sushi rolls and some original special rolls. The bagel roll was interesting. Spicy rolls were not very spicy at all. Combo boxes are a good deal. If ordering take out, make sure you get what you ordered. We were shorted a miso soup and salad. As it is a new place, I can understand, but will bring it to their attention next time.

This place used to be better. It was never great, but at least decent Japanese food could be had here. Lately it's being getting worse. The photo I posted was avocado and salmon roe roll... and it's almost all rice. If I ordered this last year I would expect about double the amount of avocado and salmon roe. Today it's pathetically small, and despite all that extra rice, it still falls apart as soon as you try picking it up. It's just not worth it for the price anymore.

We ordered 8 sushi rolls. The rice is VERY over cooked. It's super mushy to the point where it feels like a paste. All of the crunchy rolls are NOT crunchy at all because the crunchy is super stale. Not enjoyable to eat whatsoever.

Umm What's this in my bowl?!!

1 star for the lunch special price but that's about it. Don't think you're getting a salad on the side, it's three pieces of lettuce ... on top of that they'll charge you $0.50 for hot sauce on the side ?!

My sister and I have been ordering delivery from this place for about a year now and the service here has been consistently excellent so I really thought they deserved another star. They try their best to meet customer's expectations and go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with the service. We always ask for extra ginger and they make sure we have enough. I like the fact that they don't skimp out on the condiments. Also, one time we ordered party platter and they accidentally gave crunchy white tuna roll instead of spicy white tuna and to our surprise they had the delivery guy bring the new sushi roll to our place in 10 minutes. The quality of the sushi roll is excellent for the price, which is 30 dollars for 1 special roll and 7 regular rolls. They have a large selection of rolls to choose from and honestly this is so much better than ordering pizza or Chinese and feeling really gross after finishing the food and hating yourself. Hands down one of the most healthy and tasty delivery options.

For a Japanese style fast food kind of place which I'm not quite sure if that's what they are going for? Was a disappointment. The karaage was nothing but deep fried flour with possible chicken meat? The Salmon Deluxe lunch special was thin and dry. I assume the Shui Mai was store bought. The salad on the side was hotter then the fish!? As for the sushi combo's. It's the level of what you pay for. I'm sorry to say but I don't think I'll be returning.

Ordered lunch special today via Uber eats, quality was not bad. Prep time was fast, it was ready in 10 mins.

Wish I could give zero star. I ordered online to pickup. When I went there, there was a short hair lady who was so rude and attitude. She just looked at you and siad nothing. Never say hi or thank you. So, I had to say my name and told her came for pick up. She brought a food and carried with one side of plastic bag. So, my sushi spilled all over. Salad also looked terrible. Couldn't eat it. Won't ever back here again. Worst service.

In reality, they don't serve high quality sushi omakase or anything fancy. However, they do serve some of the best sushi rolls in the area. Always fresh and many crazy concoctions that will satisfy almost any taste buds. I have been coming here ever since moving into the neighborhood. The servers have always been kind and helpful. The restaurant is very small and really focus mostly on takeout or delivery. On the last visit, I really like the Mini Scallop Roll and Spicy Tuna Crunchy Roll. Munchy Roll was just okay. White Tuna Sashimi was too cold and icy, while the White Tuna Nigiri was somewhat better. However, truth be told, just come for the fun and interesting sushi rolls and forget about the nigiri or sashimi.

As…read moresomeone with a severe gluten allergy, I was really excited to try out this place because I saw a lot of reviews online praising for the way the staff members handle food allergies. I went in right around opening time (noon) on the weekend - the outside is a bit unassuming and partially covered by awning but the inside was brightly lit and the lady at the register (I wish I asked for her name) was incredibly warm and welcoming. She was super enthusiastic about helping me identify which rolls would be safe for me to have. They also have a grab-and-go section where certain popular rolls and sides have already been prepped, but as long as you're willing to wait, the chefs are more than happy to make a fresh batch of a specific roll, even if there are already packed portions of the same exact roll in the grab-and-go section. I thought this was a really thoughtful approach to appeasing all customers. I ended up going with a Philadelphia roll and a Mango Tango specialty roll, which contained a combination of salmon and tuna, mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The ingredients were very fresh and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Without even asking, I was given gluten-free tamari sauce instead of normal soy sauce. The combination of the restaurant's extensive menu and how kind the staff were made this a really wonderful experience - I was very satisfied with my order and definitely see myself coming back again and again whenever I have a sushi craving. The only downside is that this is really more so a grab-and-go spot in general, as there were only two small tables in the entire store. As a heads up, they also prefer to take cash instead of card.

I asked for hot green tea while he got a bottle of Japanese pineapple soda. We ordered at the counter because no one was when we entered so we didn't know if there was table service. When the server came with the tonkatsu and tempura, she had napkins and chopsticks for us so I guess we didn't have to help ourselves beforehand. She then came with a lovely teapot and two small cups for the tea. The tempura was different from most places - no crunchy panko crust and no dipping sauce. When she came back, I asked about a sauce and she pointed to a small dish with thick dark sauce. I had thought that was for the tonkatsu. The poke took even longer and that was also different from what I'm used to. The fish pieces were not marinated - she gave me a small dish with soy sauce. The sliced jalapeño was also a surprise. I had thought I would get a spicy marinade on the poke. I mixed in the soy sauce and ate it with the sliced jalapeños. When we came home and looked at the receipt, the prices were weird. The tea was $1.56 and the $22 dishes were $22.88. Apparently we were charged a 4% credit fee which wasn't disclosed - or we missed the sign.

I hate to bring down a mom 'n' pop shop, but this place isn't very good. It's also kinda pricey for Forest Hills and for the quality you get. Sigh. The best dishes we got were the Oxtail Croquettes and the Crispy Salmon. Things started going downhill at the pretty but bizarrely flavored Forest Hills Roll, which inexplicably pairs salmon, tobiko, orange, chives, avocado sauce, and teriyaki mayo. I appreciate a creative/fusion roll, but salmon and orange should never, ever exist on the same plate. Ever. The worst item we got was the Chicken Udon. I'm not sure how aany Asian restaurant could mess up such a staple dish, but in Daikon's case, it's because they used Japanese SOUP udon, not stir-fry udon. As soon as the plate was set, I could tell it was the wrong type of udon, and the udon was massively overcooked. Yes, there are different types of udon and they are meant to be cooked in different ways. They are identifiable by their shapes, storage needs and preparation needs, a memo Daikon clearly missed. Points for loading the dish with veggies, but eating them within the soggy mess of udon was just unpleasant.
