With so many options in the area I didn't know what I wanted to eat, I just knew I wanted rice and some sort of meat. I saw the bento box option and knew it would be good. I was surprised with how big the portion is. I had some left over. I over did it with the gyoza but they were so good! I absolutely loved the decor they are definitely Naruto fans. I ordered for pick up and was kindly greeted. Food was delicious and I felt it was a good price for the amount of food I got.
The dining area has been renovated and it's very nice and appealing. The food is very good and the service is very friendly. It's a neighborhood Japanese restaurant that's a little above the usual.

After a long trip, we decided to order take out from Chakra. We ordered the Chakra Poke Bowl that allowed for choice of 2 protein (opted for tuna and yellowtail) and a side (opted for miso soup), and the Teriyaki Salmon Bento Box that allowed for choice of rice (w opted for white rice) and 2 sides (opted for miso soup and vegetable tempura). The raw fish in the poke bowl tasted fresh and the sushi rice bed was good. I just found some of the pickled veggies to be a little off putting. Maybe I'm not used to the taste or just having these in a poke bowl normally, but I did not like the combination. The bento box was pretty standard. Nothing special about it, but I am a sucker for Japanese shumai. I could order that alone. Miso soup was good.
The quality is consistent. My favorites are the tiny yuzu cheesecake and the vitality Balls Vitality Balls 9/10 Gaara Roll 7/10 Spicy Crunch Scallop Avocado Roll 7/10 Kakashi Roll 7/10 The brown sugar pearl with fresh milk boba is decent 7/10 Plum Sweet potato 6/10 but I usually don't like sweet potato dishes. I didn't taste any plum flavor.
I ordered a couple of rolls and a bubble tea from Chakra through Uber Eats. Though I've never been to the restaurant itself, this order has me inclined to do so. The food was well packed with all three rolls in one container. The drink was sealed, like bubble teas are, so it didn't spill. I had very standard rolls, Boston, Philly and a shrimp tempura. The salmon in the Philadelphia roll was fresh and not smushed into the cream cheese. The tempura was still crisp even thought it was covered for the duration of the delivery. I look forward to a possible visit for the experience. And will definitely order from here again.

I just popped in randomly late at night looking for a quick bite--never in a million years did I expect this affordable spot to hit omakase-level goodness! I asked the manager, and turns out the owner handpicks all the fish at the freshest seafood market deep into the night. If you're in Flushing craving super fresh, budget-friendly Japanese food after dark, trust me--this place does NOT disappoint!
I think this is the first sushi restaurant themed by Naruto, which is really special and fantastic experience dining here. I order a Kiba Roll and spider roll. They both taste really good. To Kiba Roll has jalapeño inside, it's not really spicy, but the crispy jalapeño enriched the texture Salmon nigiri is fresh, and in a good value. Overall, the vibe and the service is good here.
Really fast and efficient service, I ordered for pickup and it only took 10 minutes to be ready. I got a salmon avocado roll, tuna avocado roll, and spicy yellowtail rail, the total was $19.50. The spicy yellowtail stood out the most it was really good.
My kids were in awe of all the Naruto themed decor from the moment we were outside the entrance. There's Naruto staring at you from the side. Chakra appropriately named no less if you are well versed in Anime. This place even has their menu printed as a scroll you have to unravel. So fun. Overall dining was great, all of our food was good, minor tweaks could be made and it'll be better still. Music playing throughout with DJ Jason's playlist. We were here on a Saturday night and it got busier and busier as the night went on. Food suggestions: - tuna tar tar appetizer -great sauce, avocado cubes or triangles I should say, topped with multicolored tobiko. Hint of smokey flavors paired well with the tuna. All I needed was chips or something to make it easier to eat. - Oden - traditional Japanese Fish Cake stew. The broth this night was a bit on the salty side but given the other ingredients were not seasoned, I suppose it helped. Silky tofu and assorted fish cakes were great. Love the texture. - sake don had a decent portion of salmon - sashimi regular was good, surprisingly no shrimp (fine by me) in the mix. But they should use a smaller bowl, lol. It looked sparse on plating but there was plenty of fish. - beef habachi cooked medium and cubed. Good sauce and lots of veggies We tried the ramen and the vegetable tempura, however it was only ok. Nothing unique about the broth in the ramen bowl and the noodles were clumped so that shouldn't be. The sauce for the tempura was not enough for the portion provided but it was a generous portion indeed. Skip on the mochi ice cream as well. We felt the mochi skin was too thick and tasted paste-y. Ice cream is great on it's own. Drinks offered on the menu were great. We opted for fruity flavors all around and the Thai Iced Tea. Those were great! Large size pictured in my photos. Chakra overall has a fun vibe and the menu boasts plenty for sharing. A good night out for groups!

I came here with a friend and we share a few apps. Pork Gyoza Japanese-style pan-fried dumplings that come in six pieces. The taste was pretty tender and it was filled with meat the dumplings had a good taste a good option to start the night. Phoenix Roll Shrimp tempura and cucumber inside topped with spicy Kani and spicy mayo. Super crunchy and a bit spicy you could taste the shrimp on it, I can recommend having it. For my main course, I had Chicken, Beef, and Egg Fried Rice. The Fried Rice was very good, the rice was perfectly cooked is so delicious and the portion was very generous, the amounts of proteins were enough to feed one or maybe two persons. The staff is very friendly and generously gave us complimentary dessert with had a good taste.
Came here for a Yelp event and had to come back with my mommy friends. I take "sharing is caring" very seriously. (Wink wink). I booked the reservation through Kathy on IG you can easily make reservations by calling the restaurant directly. The whole theme of the Japanese restaurant is anime. The naruto decor is on all the walls, ceilings, floor and even the bathrooms. They have a DJ table with a laptop playing electronic music but you can always ask DJ Jason to play any type of music you like. The service here is very attentive. Nana is a super host. They served some specialty cocktail drinks at the party but it's not on the menu. Nana was able to have Jason recreate the drinks for us. I think it's a strawberry lychee drink. Super light and refreshing. Should definitely add some cocktail items to the drink menu. After trying an assortment of the food at the party, I had in mind what I wanted to order already and also asked Nana for some suggestions. You definitely can't go wrong with any of the sushi and sashimi. All fresh and delicious. We had the yellowtail jalapeño, spider roll, spicy Girl roll, naruto roll, ahi tuna app, and the sushi and sashimi for 3. For appetizers, the Peking duck rolled up in the chinese pancake is a must. I really like the sushi pizza l and ll but my friends thought the pancake portion could've been warmed up a little more. We ordered some fried items-calamari and wings cause one mommy was craving fried food to accompany the drinks but there are so many other items on the menu that these really didn't stand out. We all had a great time and the service and food here is top notch. Thank you for the mochi ice cream.
Was in the area and did a takeout on an early Saturday evening when the restaurant was relatively quiet. Started with the Pork Gyoza and the Avocado Salad - both were good. For mains, had the Tonkotsu Ramen which was solid and Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp which was flavorful and had a good sauce. read more
Had such a great experience at Chakra Japanese Fusion in Queens! The sushi for two was excellent everything tasted incredibly fresh, high quality, and beautifully presented. You can tell they really put effort into both the flavor and the look of each dish. The crispy rice was a perfect way to start the meal crispy, flavorful, and seriously addictive. The rock shrimp was another standout, super fresh and packed with flavor. On top of that, the staff was very friendly and made the whole experience even better. Keepin it real out here in Flushing We ordered it through Doordash, food was prepped on time and they actually gave enough wasabi, so props to them for that. The food itself pretty typical, not super memorable but definitely not bad, just kind of blends in with all the other "sushi" spots. read more

Ive ordered from this place so much last year than I stopped. I was looking at deals and prices lol I been ordering from the Uber Specials like why my Gyoza ain't hitting.... Now I know why I haven't been ordering from here. This place is a hit!! The duck buns are so good... two lol buns for 9 dollars I think imma treat myself this week again. Although Chakra Japanese Fusion is to be commended for opening recently during the Covid-19 quarantine, we would be wary of visiting this restaurant again. We recently ordered a "Sashimi Regular" ($19.95; 14 pieces of sashimi) and a "Fantastic Roll" ($13.95) for take-out. The tuna and salmon sashimi pieces were not fresh -- they were not firm and almost fell apart during handling. The other sashimi pieces had enough of a fishy aftertaste -- another sign that they were not fresh -- that we decided to cook them. We ended up discarding most of the fish because the result was still unpalatable. The "Fantastic Roll" ("salmon, avocado, cucumber inside topped with spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and spicy mayo crunch, red chili julienne") was more acceptable than fantastic. However, we didn't taste any yellowtail or red chili. Other: - The miso soup was average. - The sushi chef didn't seem to be wearing his face mask correctly. - Suggested tips are calculated on post-tax totals. - It may cost less to order by phone than online. Overall: Unacceptable (1 of 5 stars). While food waste and inventory management are concerns for any restaurant, I would rather not be the recipient of attempts to salvage inventory, especially where raw fish is concerned. read more
4.5 stars. We noticed this new restaurant when drove by yesterday as we looked for a place to have lunch. Unfortunately for us, they are closed for lunch and don't normally open until 4pm, so we made a point of coming back the next day for an early dinner. The inside of the restaurant is a bit dark but each table is separated by large Japanese screens. The walls, interestingly enough, is decorated with characters from the Japanese anime, Naruto. The menu is quite extensive, and also very hard to read. Luckily, you can scan the QR code to read the menu and all the descriptions on your phone. We ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki bento, beef teriyaki bento, fried spring rolls, volcano roll, and the black dragon roll. The bentos were each served with shumai, california roll, vegetable tempura, white rice and miso soup. And both bento boxes were absolutely delicious! I loved that the shumai were steamed and then fried. The teriyaki sauce was a great balance of savory and sweet. And for $15-$17 they were well worth ordering. The fried Spring rolls were okay but I did appreciate that they came with four large pieces in one order. The Volcano roll had spicy crunch tuna jalapeño inside wrapped in sliced avocadoes and topped with spicy mayo. I kind of wished it was spicier but it was really yummy nonetheless. The Black dragon roll had shrimp tempura and mango inside with sliced avocado and topped with eel sauce and sesame seeds. It was so good! Then for dessert we got the mango mille crepe cake and vanilla mochi ice cream. The waiter was sweet enough to give us extra vanilla and strawberry mochi ice cream on the house. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner here. It is a little bit on the pricier side but the food is pretty good. And our waiter, Jason, was great. I wouldn't mind coming back again for those bentos. read more
Been putting off this review for long enough, which is a shame since ive been back to this place about 4 times now, but if you're looking for a spot thats open late, with a quirky/unique theme, with delicious albiet slightly pricey sushi, this spot is as good as it gets. One of the reasons why im always back here is because its one of the few spots in the area thats open so late! If im ever in the hankering for a late night meal this place is always a top option for me to go to, to take care of that late night hankering. Ordered a multitude of things on here and can honestly say theyve all been fantastic. The rolls here are generous with the fish, done well, and always taste decently fresh, which is more than i can say for your typical neighborhood sushi restaurant. Stop by here for a delicious late night meal, with a naruto themed setting! read more

Do NOT order from this place on UberEats, I wasted $100+ on inedible food here. The "chakra salad" was not as pictured at all. I am including pictures of it that are shown on UberEats vs. what I received- there was no variety of salad greens and only huge chunks of lettuce thrown into a bowl with gross liquid at bottom which I assume was the water used to wash the lettuce. The yellowtail jalapeño was old and looked like it was sitting out for days and the fish was even disintegrating. The clam soup was not as pictured either with no vegetables and in a dark, overwhelming, ginger flavored soup. The cucumbers that came with the unagi were wilted and smelled old. I did not dare try the octopus or mackerel I ordered because I was not comfortable with the quality, especially since I am traveling overseas tomorrow. The only thing I ate from my order was the edamame since it had the least risk. What a waste. This place is disgusting. I have reported this to UberEats and the department of health. Good thing it's located right next to the hospital because you're going need the ER after eating what they call "food.". read more

My new hangout spot that's walking distance and opens until 1:30 AM! My childhood friends and I grew up around this neighborhood, but they all went away for college so when they do come back, this is the perfect place to meet up. I came around 8:30 PM on a weekday night and it was not crowded. There was one table of 3 to my left and another table of 3 to my right. But they soon left right after we placed our order. About a quarter in, a large party did come in and sat at the only big table across from the sushi bar. They were loud but the music was louder. The restaurant has a DJ set up right where you walk in and is decorated with a bunch of Naruto anime decors. My favorite things would have to be the Japanese wooden separators they have between each table. Their menu is a large scroll that barely fits the table. Very aesthetic but not very practical. I arrived 10 minutes before my friend and the waitress already came up to me twice to check on me. Then when my friend finally arrived, she must've checked on us three times to see if we were ready to order. I'm not sure whether to feel appreciated for the over attention or annoyed. We placed our drink order first which was a large taro bubble tea and they provided it in a to-go cup which was smart (without us even asking). However, we did end up finishing it because we sat until 1:15 AM right before they were closing. The bubble tea I would say is very standard and I would definitely get it again. However, it's not especially unique or anything since it is not a bubble tea shop but better than coffee shops and such. For food, we shared a kani salad which is very delicious with just the right portions of mango and cucumber slices, tiny orange fish eggs, and spicy mayo flavoring. We ordered one of their specialty sushi rolls to share, the Sakura roll, which was just what I was looking for - a crispy shrimp tempura roll with avocado and spicy mayo. My friend prefers the ones with cream cheese which we've ordered in the past, but I'm not a fan of cream cheese in my sushi. We ended the meal with a heart vegetable udon which does not cost extra. If you add meat (ex: chicken, beef, shrimp) it does cost more. However, the vegetables were soaked just enough to be soft and crunchy to my liking and in a flavorful broth. The udon is also soft enough and better than the packaged ones from the supermarket but of course it cannot compare to my favorite udon places in St. Marks. Can't complain for an alternative that's so close to my home! I absolutely love the ambience here - peaceful in terms of not a lot of people, but the loud music can get annoying sometimes when we can't hear what each other is saying. The staff are very attentive and friendly too. However, I was surprised they didn't offer complimentary water or tea right when we sat down. During the whole meal we were just sipping on our bubble tea. We even stayed way longer past the time we finished our meals and after they handed the check to us and we paid. Eventually, they realized we were here to stay and they handed us two mason jars of ice water which I thought was a kind gesture - better a late bloomer than never. FYI - They use to have outdoor dining in the mist of Covid along with a nice red Torii, a Japanese gate, in the front of the restaurant that are no longer there. Chakra is a Naruto anime themed Japanese restaurant. The server brings over a menu that comes in a large scroll and there are Naruto wall papers to add to the theme. The restaurant is best for 1 to 6 people since most seating is for 4 guests. No reservation is required however there are only about a dozen tables in the restaurant so call ahead if you have a specific seating in mind. They have a sushi bar at the back of the restaurant. First I have to say that the sushi here is beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The house special rolls and signature rolls are high quality. I recommend trying those before anything else on the menu. The Phoenix Roll is shrimp tempura topped with kani salad and panko bread crumbs. This is one of the top 3 sushi rolls on my list. Now on to the other items that were not so great. The yakisoba noodles needed more soy sauce and the vegetables were very undercooked. The tonkotsu ramen is 4/5 rating at most since it is a simple boiled noodle soup with pork broth. However the service was great and the sushi is delicious so I'll keep this review at 5 stars. read more

So first time back here since the Elite Event here and my kid requested Japanese and I immediately thought of this place. I wanted her to try the Sushi Pizza II. Which did NOT disappoint! Best part of the meal. We both ordered the Bento Boxes with teriyaki chicken and I had a mixture of both chicken & shrimp. Have to say... the shrimp tasted bland. Just cooked and thrown into the teriyaki sauce. The miso soup came to us like warm not even hot at all. We had to send it back. But when it did come back hot.. too salty to eat. Not a fan. The broccoli that came with the chicken in the Bento box was cold . Spicy tuna rolls good. The tempura batter on the veggies was a little on the thick side for my taste. Didn't really like it much. More batter than anything. Spring rolls... weren't crazy about either. No flavor and just on the boring side. California rolls lacked crab meat. Lots of cucumber more than anything else. Strawberry Soju was good. It came out of a bottle. I was expecting the awesome drink that they had made us when I came before. But guess not. I'll be taking the bottle home for myself for another time. We drove a long way to come here and I have to say, It was kind of a let down. They gave us some Mochi Ice Cream on the house and we both didn't like it one bit. We've had better from Trader Joe's frozen section. The restaurant is Naruto themed, which is what brought us to come. There was Naruto art all around the walls and the menus were even scrolls. We went around 7pm on a Thursday night and we were the only ones there the entire time. But the music and service was good and the food came out quick. read more

Not so fresh! Spent $60 Ordered few rolls. Avocado is brown already. Will not order again. Tried to fool you by putting eel sauce on top of the "BROWN AVOCADO" so you can't see it since eel sauce is brown too. read more
Perhaps the best sashimi Ive had in queens. Go give this new small business a chance. Food is on point. Menu is pretty big. Focus on the sushi sashimi items and the izakaya menus. I loved the sashimi for 3, the fried wings, the skewers, and the beer clams. I had the opportunity to speak to the owner and found out that they are open until 3am! Perhaps a late night izakaya spot? Can't wait to see what else they can bring to the table! read more

Worst service experience of my life. They used to be very accommodating and kind. The lady was short with our group and got our orders mixed up, took our bowls and switched them after we already dug in...without asking. She was not attentive, kept leaving the table before we were done ordering. And the tip was insurmountable, we had no choice but to leave a large tip for each of us. Even though we paid separately. Waitress demanded a larger tip from each of us even thought it was a suggested tip and it was not at all deserved. For 2 people we paid $80 total for some ramen and sushi. The sushi has some bits of ..plastic? Idk. She was very rude throughout our meal. We will not be returning here. Awful server and the food quality went down. Disappointed but the art is a nice view. read more

I recommend the Hamachi Kama. Unfortunately I forgot to take picture then.This flavor is literally so special for me to find elsewhere. Sushi is also good,next time I will try the ramen and bubble tea. read more
ordered on ubereats and it came at a nice time considering dinner rushes and such. the chicken udon came with soup separately which was great since it kept the udon fresh. the soup was very good. the california roll was really nice and the avocado was fresh. the spicy tuna roll definitely looked off to me, more reminiscent of a spicy salmon roll but it tasted fine. the salmon roll had nice pieces of salmon and was very yummy. the rice was a little bit hard on the rolls though. otherwise it was great. read more
