No need to go to the malls anymore to get my chicken teriyaki with rice, this place really does make it great. Super fresh and the chicken nicely cooked. This was very satisfying. I only had the chicken teriyaki so I don't know about the rest of the food. This is also why I rated only a 4 star first. I will for sure re-rate the place once I have tried some other items. The lady that took my order was also super friendly. They have very good prices!

I was craving chicken teriyaki, so we ordered take out from Terikayi Monster due to the good reviewed. We ordered the chicken teriyaki with white rice, and the general tso's chicken lunch special with fried fice and a size of wonton soup. Overall both dishes tasted mediocre. The fried rice was a little bland, there wasn't much sauce on the teriyaki, and the wontons tasted weird... It just wasn't what I expected and wanted in terms of flavor. The only thing that makes up for this is the good portion size.

I cannot stress enough how much I love these guys! It's literally a hole-in-the-wall Chinese takeout spot, but let me tell you why they're great. Their chicken and shrimp teriyaki combo is CONSISTENTLY good, slightly crisped on the outside while remaining moist on the inside. Plates are never over-sauced, so you don't get that sickeningly salty-sweet taste that other places do. Protein, protein, protein! It's the quickest, easiest, and cheapest post-workout meal in the area if you're tracking your macros. I highly recommend picking up from here yourself, because delivery will almost guarantee it arrives soggy.

    Bug

I used to buy food from here all the time. I found half of a bug in my food. GROSS!! Never again buying from here!

Chicken Broccoli Bento Box is very highly recommended and for the price you get a decent amount of food.

Food was made to order; nice and fresh. They give a good amount of food for each meal. Spend $30 and get a free general tso chicken which was also delicious. I'll definitely be coming back.

Teriyaki chicken over rice. Looks amazing but can't judge a book by its cover.

Their teriyaki chicken is mediocre, matter of fact, worse I ever had. But the ironic thing is that it should be their best item as their name and advertising suggests. Their other menu options are great though. Their beef chowfun was one of the best chowfun I had. Their bubble tea also is such a great deal, it's like a medium size for just 3 bucks and they all taste great. Their scallion pancakes are chewy and taste good. Basically a lot of their other options are just delicious but their teriyaki rice combo just tastes bad. The chicken tastes eggy flavor almost like shrimp. The texture is bad, very soggy and it does not go well with the rice. The rice is also terrible. It tastes kind of rocky and doesn't have that much of a flavor. Vegetables taste raw.

Their lunch specials are quite good, notably the teriyaki chicken and chicken&broccoli. The only thing is that the rice is overcooked and mushy so it really lowers the quality of what would otherwise be a 5 star meal.

Really solid takeout food! The Chinese options such as the Lo mein, orange chicken, sweet n sour soup, fried cheese wontons were all yummy! If you are in the mood for some fried chicken wings and French fries it was actually surprisingly good! So crunchy. The food was delivered hot and the fries were so nice and crisp! The women that work at the establishment have always been friendly. The lady that answers the phone is always helpful and nice. The delivery driver was also very pleasant.

Ordered a lunch beef w/broccoli. While it tasted like your typical Chinese food, they gave me a total of 3 pieces of beef. Just wow.

The hot pot itself I think was average but the real standout for me was the appetizers. Seating in a booth tucked away in a corner on the first floor was a bit awkward to navigate. The sauce station downstairs was not well maintained and several items were out of stock, but that may have been because it was around 9PM. Second floor seating and sauce station are better. Food 4.5/5: Main complaint is that their menu is really confusing, despite this being my second visit. There are 4 pricing tiers. Everyone in a party has to choose the same one, so it can get pricey fast. Higher tiers include seafood and more premium wagyu cuts. You still get unlimited wagyu in the lowest tier but seafood is not included. I think this setup is fine because premium seafood items like lobster and crab tend to clutter the pot and are difficult to deshell while hot but also taste worse after cooled. Although the premium wagyu cuts do taste richer and "melt in your mouth," most of the fat is renders into the broth. Therefore, I don't think hot pot is the best way to enjoy wagyu, so the higher tiers didn't feel worth the price. The best part of the meal was definitely the appetizers and specialty dishes. The wagyu bone marrow was amazing and a must-try but only available to the second tier or up. Ambiance 3.5/5: I think being tucked away in a corner booth made the experience less enjoyable. The table was small for a party of 6, so we constantly had to rearrange dishes whenever new food arrived. It was inconvenient that everyone had to get up whenever I needed to refill my drink or sauce. Service 4/5: The first floor sauce station wasn't restocked throughout our stay so options were limited. Otherwise no real complaints regarding service to our table.

We are very familiar with the area and must have walked passed this neatly tucked away gem without ever noticing it. Our son had mentioned that he and his friends have been going to a sushi place near Asian Jewel, our former dim sum go to place. When we sat down to order, my wife and I were quite impressed by how clean and cozy the restaurant was. Kind of on the small side with a few tables on the ground floor level. The menu offered cooked food as well as fresh sushi. We decided to start with the sushi & sashimi combo. They also offered a sushi or sashimi a la carte menu where you can choose to order by the piece. I believe that if you choose one of their standard menu sushi or sashimi orders and pay with cash, the a la carte price per piece of sushi / sashimi is only $1.35 / piece! Well we were famished and in addition to the sushi & sashimi plate we ordered two rounds of sushi & sashimi a la carte. Their salmon and yellow tail was so fresh and so scrumptious as was the sweet shrimp. The tuna was also very yummy and did not disappoint! When all was said and done we were quite happy with our experience with Yoi Sushi Japanese. I highly recommend Yoi if you're anywhere near Tangram Mall or Asian Jewel and have a hankering for yummy sushi. They also offer cooked food as well as ramen bowls.

The nigiri was good as well, they don't use toppings that you normally see at other omakases (of similar price point) so the nigiri was more similar to the nigiri served at authentic japanese omakases (not sure if this is Japanese owned but I don't think so). Nigiri was also not the typical basic fish (e.g salmon, unagi), but fish like barracuda and kinmedai. For dessert, we had fior di latte ice cream which was amazing, I still think about it, and they were kind enough to give us an extra one. Service was great and not too talkative or invasive. They gave us a letter at the end which showed everything we ate at the omakase that day and personalized with your name on it which I thought was nice. Not sure if they changed the course throughout the day though since some of what was on the letter was not what we had during the course. They also gave us a candle. The chief was so friendly and took his time to explain each dish to us and also took time to chat with us which I thought was really nice especially since I have mainly been to "fast casual" omakase locations recently where they don't really chat with you. There was a good variety of appetizers, fish and dessert. The appetizer options were so unique and the platting was so pretty. The fish options were also very plentiful and I liked the topping that they put on top of each one, the rich was not as warm and soft as I would usually like it but they paired well with the fish. The portion sizes were also pretty large which I thought was nice especially since we were paying about $165 a person. If you are getting sake, they do let you sample the sake before opening the whole bottle. The presentation of the opened sake was also so fancy. Overall - if you want a more traditional omakase experience, I highly recommend checking this place out. The vibes are immaculate and you will have a good time chatting with the chef while enjoying your food!
