Mango tango roll (left), Philadelphia roll (right)

I think I just found my new favorite casual sushi spot around the Forest Hills neighborhood! As someone with a severe gluten allergy, I was really excited to try out this place because I saw a lot of reviews online praising for the way the staff members handle food allergies. I went in right around opening time (noon) on the weekend - the outside is a bit unassuming and partially covered by awning but the inside was brightly lit and the lady at the register (I wish I asked for her name) was incredibly warm and welcoming. She was super enthusiastic about helping me identify which rolls would be safe for me to have. They also have a grab-and-go section where certain popular rolls and sides have already been prepped, but as long as you're willing to wait, the chefs are more than happy to make a fresh batch of a specific roll, even if there are already packed portions of the same exact roll in the grab-and-go section. I thought this was a really thoughtful approach to appeasing all customers. I ended up going with a Philadelphia roll and a Mango Tango specialty roll, which contained a combination of salmon and tuna, mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The ingredients were very fresh and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Without even asking, I was given gluten-free tamari sauce instead of normal soy sauce. The combination of the restaurant's extensive menu and how kind the staff were made this a really wonderful experience - I was very satisfied with my order and definitely see myself coming back again and again whenever I have a sushi craving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only downside is that this is really more so a grab-and-go spot in general, as there were only two small tables in the entire store.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As a heads up, they also prefer to take cash instead of card.

The octopus shrimp roll was fishy (yes I know it's seafood but it shouldn't taste fishy or smell fishy) if u understand what I'm saying. The sprint crab I didn't really like. It was crab with the sauce on top. The other places I go to it's crab mixed with the spicy sauce. Don't know if I'll be back to try anything else.

6 Pieces Shrimp Shumai, Philadelphia Roll and TMI Roll

This was my go-to sushi lunch spot when I worked in the area. A cozy place with pleasant employees and tasty food meant I was there all the time. It was so good, I even introduced my fella to sushi with this food and he became a regular! There are some grab and go basics, Cali roll, kani salad, that type of thing. But of course what you want are the fresh made rolls. I ordered shumai, a Philadelphia roll and a TMI roll. TMI is like a mash of all my favorite things, tempura, crunch, shrimp, eel sauce. Basic, but tasty. Definitely my spot for casual sushi in Forest Hills

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely establishment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is extremely friendly and you can tell as soon as you walk in. They welcome you with delightful smiles and they know their customers by name. You can tell that they appreciate their regulars. The sushi was very tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Be mindful that it will be difficult to dine in with a huge party because the space is small. It's more for small groups/takeout style.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall great experience, I wish I lived nearby so that I can come here more often.

Mix of rolls- highly recommend the "smokey shrimp roll" on the bottom right

Reliable, reasonably priced, and quick- what's not to like? In this area, I would say that Sushi Time is easily the most reliable sushi spot and it's pretty solid. My favorite roll was easily the smokey salmon roll as it's the "best of both worlds" with smoked salmon and shrimp. All in all, it's hard to mess up here!

Bling Bling Roll, and my mom got some kind of Spicy Tuna Roll.

A neighbourhood sushi spot from my childhood. They recently renovated their space. The sushi is very fresh and people are always going in and out the shop to pick up orders. I like to get their Bling Bling roll because it has the biggest variety of fish, more than a rainbow roll (I'm very indecisive). Kind of sad they don't have uni anymore but it be like that.

I've been ordering from Sushi Time for 10 years! This little gem has been such a staple to the neighborhood, we are so grateful it's just a short walk away. Any time I'm craving some sushi, I just come right over. The owner and staff have consistently been friendly through the years, it really is one of those local businesses you feel proud to support! Love this place and will continue coming regularly!

I was so excited to finally try these guys out and was surprised when my spicy salmon rolls came with a pungent scallion taste. My friend like their avocado roll- but for my staple basic roll, I was quite disappointed in mine. The staff is super nice of course and I believe everyone when they say their rolls are fresh, I just need to order it again to truly get that experience... sans the scallion overload.

Super friendly staff, fresh rolls, and great prices. There are only two tables for two people each, but a lot of people call ahead and order to go. You can also pickup already prepared rolls that they make throughout the day and display in the open cooler fridge.

The raw fish is very fresh and tasty. The miso soup is rich in flavor. In my opinion, this is the best sushi takeout in our neighborhood.

An Unforgettable Omakase Experience!…read more We celebrated the 4th of July with an incredible omakase dinner at Masaki, and it exceeded every expectation. Every course was beautifully presented, impeccably fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the delicate Red Sea Bream and buttery Scallop to the luxurious Toro with Caviar, Sweet Shrimp with Uni, and the unforgettable Eel with Foie Gras, each bite was a masterpiece. What truly elevated the evening was Michael, our sushi chef. He was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every course, the origin of the fish, the flavors, and the best way to enjoy each piece. His passion for his craft was evident, and his attention to detail made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Dining at the sushi bar gave us a front-row seat to watch the artistry behind every piece. The quality of the ingredients, the precision of the preparation, and the genuine hospitality made this one of the finest omakase experiences we've ever had. Thank you, Michael, and the entire Masaki team, for making our holiday celebration so special. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable evening!

I honestly wasn't expecting much but the service based solely for the Omakase blew me away. The Omakase bar was in the back of the restaurant hidden away. The space was very open and the ambience was chic. This is a great place for date night, mommy night out, or group hangouts as they have private rooms too. Every piece tasted very fresh and were quite unique. The steam silky egg appetizer with crabmeat and fish roe was simple yet delicious. One of the dishes was an uni toro roll that was placed on top of our hands and was sprayed with edible gold glitter on us. That was a surprise and it was cute. And that uni just melts in your mouth. We had this matcha pudding with I think had an Oreo sprinkle in it was fabulous. They also surprised us with an extra dessert cause it was all 3 of our birthdays. Very enjoyable experience. Our sushi chef was very accommodating and made our birthday dinner memorable. We originally started out with the summer special of $78pp for a 12 course meal and decided to upgrade to the 14 course meal for $98pp. There was an option for a 17 course meal for $138pp but we were very full towards the end. They also had this $30 lunch and $60 dinner 3 course meal set for restaurant week. My friend's mom wasn't a fan of raw stuff so she ordered the Chilean sea bass with risotto and she wasn't a huge fan of it. The fish was a tad overcooked and the overall presentation of the dish looked more of a Chinese fusion dish. The risotto had that cheesy flavor but the presentation with the Bok Choy and the risotto looked more like fried rice and was confusing. I would stick with the omakase, which this place is known for.

We got a variety of dishes to share, starting with the Yakitori platter. For $19.99, you can choose 5 skewers from the a la carte selections (except for the pricier seafood skewers). They were grilled and seasoned well. I really liked the Fried Kaki (aka kaki fry, fried oysters). The breaded oysters were tender, fresh & juicy. We also shared Chicken Yakiudon, Yakiniku Don & Pork Katsu Don. The yakiudon was very good and the katsu was crispy and generously sized. I did not like the sauce on the beef in yakiniku don. The texture tasted strange. I'll try the gyudon next time. I have eaten at very high end sushi restaurants and am almost 50 years old. I have never had a $60 hamachi kama. This one wasn't even tasty!!! It was not good or flavorful. The prices on the windows are very confusing and more like false advertising for me, the lower prices are for the members which we're not since this is our first time and definitely our last, unless our daughter wants to come here again. So the price is the more expensive one. For me, I prefer straight forward pricing, so this didn't give me good vibes, it's not the money, just the way they advertising and we have to know what we can only have with the price we chose. The restaurant just gives us the specific menu for what we selected to have then we don't have to be denied for what we chose because we selected gold instead of top of the line menu. The place is clean and nice. For $78/per person and only have Australian Wagyu Beef (not really Wagyu) then it's over priced. We did have some premium beef which I liked because of the marble of fat on the beef quite tender and tasty, but only a sampler or whatever they called it. Service with one person is quite inadequate but she's very attentive and pleasant, since she had to run the whole restaurant, sometimes forgets things. The tomato broth was good and everyone liked it. The seafood plate is OK and our sweet shrimps are sweet. Some snow crab legs, jumbo shrimps, fish fillets, nothing to make me go wow. The appetizers tempura is crispy and good. The raw octopus is tasty. The vegetables are fresh and clean. After they denied me the premium beef sampler, I let my daughter to order everything else and I just enjoyed with the family. My daughter seemed to be happy and ate a lot, so I was happy. I've eaten enough shabu, hot pot to know that Australian or American Wagyu are overrated, many of them are tough and chewy, not as tender as normal ribeyes or Brisket that I like. This restaurant Wagyu beef does have marbles of fat in it, so it's tender and not so chewy. So, for the GOLD menu, I don't think it's worth the $78 but for special occasions, it's OK. I just don't like the confusion of many menu, many prices, and not getting my own menu and get denied for something on the menu because I didn't pay enough.

Finger-licking good!! - We also shared then chicken lo mein - also delicious and a big portion (there were some leftovers) - The staff is always kind and very friendly. Again, Maggie was really sweet, accommodating, took pictures for us and of course helped sing the HBD song which never not embarrasses me ever. darn. time. The ambiance is also always very chill, but a hit higher scale, with its beautifully colored mosaic-like rounded booths and a big, full bar, too. Knowing Mito is so good now and so close to my house can be a bit of a problem. I may become a regular but I guess that'd be a good thing for the business, HA. Thanks Mito for a special birthday dinner! Here's to more to come.

I had the best girls night at this Sushi spot in Forest Hills. Tucked away in Queens, you'll find…read moreall of your favorite classics right here. For starters we had to get Edamame and Calamari which was a little soft for my tasting but was still pretty good. For our mains, Chicken Teriyaki and of course so many selections of Sushi Rolls to choose from. Dessert and drinks were (Cherry Blossom Cocktail will for sure pack a punch) delicious and our server was so nice! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a new sushi spot :)!!!

I've always loved ordering takeout from this place, especially for their ramen and rice dishes, but…read morethis was my first time dining in for a Monday lunch with a party of three. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The service was good, and the seating was comfortable. The restaurant filled up while we were eating, which shows how popular it is. I tried their sushi for the first time and ordered the keizen don bowl. The raw fish was extremely fresh, the assortment was excellent, and the special tea-flavored seasoned rice added a unique touch. The portion was generous, and I left satisfied. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be coming back.

We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and King Crab Ikura Don over cold tochucha noodles. I thought the ramen was just mediocre and the chashu was very hard to chew. The noodles was pretty good. There was a good amount of ikura, king crab, and avocado included. I originally wanted the Sashimi Set but they didn't have uni that day. They would have just subbed it with something else so I didn't think it was worth the $55. I also tried the Tochucha Yuzu Lemonade which was good but not amazing. I didn't know what all the hype was over tochucha because it wasn't very memorable for me. Tonkotsu Ramen 6/10 King Crab Ikura Don 8/10 Tochucha Yuzu Lemonade 7/10
