In reality, they don't serve high quality sushi omakase or anything fancy. However, they do serve some of the best sushi rolls in the area. Always fresh and many crazy concoctions that will satisfy almost any taste buds. I have been coming here ever since moving into the neighborhood. The servers have always been kind and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is very small and really focus mostly on takeout or delivery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On the last visit, I really like the Mini Scallop Roll and Spicy Tuna Crunchy Roll. Munchy Roll was just okay. White Tuna Sashimi was too cold and icy, while the White Tuna Nigiri was somewhat better. What happened to this sushi place. I haven't been in years and it seems the quality went down. The spicy crab roll had hardly any spicy mayo and a big lump of crab instead of the crab bring minced. The salmon roll had mushy rice and cut unevenly. I also hate that the seaweed was on the outside instead of in. I couldn't finish it and threw it away. A waste of money. read more

I think I just found my new favorite casual sushi spot around the Forest Hills neighborhood! As someone with a severe gluten allergy, I was really excited to try out this place because I saw a lot of reviews online praising for the way the staff members handle food allergies. I went in right around opening time (noon) on the weekend - the outside is a bit unassuming and partially covered by awning but the inside was brightly lit and the lady at the register (I wish I asked for her name) was incredibly warm and welcoming. She was super enthusiastic about helping me identify which rolls would be safe for me to have. They also have a grab-and-go section where certain popular rolls and sides have already been prepped, but as long as you're willing to wait, the chefs are more than happy to make a fresh batch of a specific roll, even if there are already packed portions of the same exact roll in the grab-and-go section. I thought this was a really thoughtful approach to appeasing all customers. I ended up going with a Philadelphia roll and a Mango Tango specialty roll, which contained a combination of salmon and tuna, mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The ingredients were very fresh and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Without even asking, I was given gluten-free tamari sauce instead of normal soy sauce. The combination of the restaurant's extensive menu and how kind the staff were made this a really wonderful experience - I was very satisfied with my order and definitely see myself coming back again and again whenever I have a sushi craving. This is not sashimi-grade seafood. We live two blocks from this restaurant and have tried this spot at least three times a year for the last 7+ years. The octopus shrimp roll was fishy (yes I know it's seafood but it shouldn't taste fishy or smell fishy) if u understand what I'm saying. The sprint crab I didn't really like. This was my go-to sushi lunch spot when I worked in the area. A cozy place with pleasant employees and tasty food meant I was there all the time. It was so good, I even introduced my fella to sushi with this food and he became a regular! There are some grab and go basics, Cali roll, kani salad, that type of thing. Have been here a few times and it's now become my go-to after my haircut nearby. I recommend ordering ahead as one time I came on a Friday evening and was told the wait for a take-out dish would be over 1 hour. That being said, my most recent visit was a Thursday evening and the takeout was almost immediate. I usually stick to the combo boxes or the generic rolls because when you venture to the more specialized rolls things get to be a bit expensive. Not necessarily out of the norm expensive and pretty typical of such sushi places. The rolls I've gotten have always had a nice consistency in how well they've been prepared. Most recently, went with the Alaskan roll and the spicy tuna roll, both of which were standard. Fish felt fresh, as did the other ingredients. I do wish there had been a skosh more wasabi given. The service is great. The front counter people are always so nice. This most recent time, I had told her I would be back in a certain time period and she kept my food in the refrigerated portion of the restaurant while waiting for me to return, which I super appreciated. Two spicy salmon avocado rolls came out to $14. Yowza. Perhaps I am well used to my sushi lunch special prices but it's really expensive for two rolls. The rice was okay. Sushi was fresh. I purchased their prepared packaged meal of sushi and sashimi from their open refrigerator counter for $10.95. I decided to dine-in and was immediately offered a complimentary traditional hot Japanese green tea. Of course, I'll accept it as it is served as loose tea leaves rather than mass produced tea bag.
