Octopus shrimp roll
Jennifer O.

The octopus shrimp roll was fishy (yes I know it's seafood but it shouldn't taste fishy or smell fishy) if u understand what I'm saying. The sprint crab I didn't really like. It was crab with the sauce on top. The other places I go to it's crab mixed with the spicy sauce. Don't know if I'll be back to try anything else.

6 Pieces Shrimp Shumai, Philadelphia Roll and TMI Roll

This was my go-to sushi lunch spot when I worked in the area. A cozy place with pleasant employees and tasty food meant I was there all the time. It was so good, I even introduced my fella to sushi with this food and he became a regular! There are some grab and go basics, Cali roll, kani salad, that type of thing. But of course what you want are the fresh made rolls. I ordered shumai, a Philadelphia roll and a TMI roll. TMI is like a mash of all my favorite things, tempura, crunch, shrimp, eel sauce. Basic, but tasty. Definitely my spot for casual sushi in Forest Hills

Lovely establishment. The staff is extremely friendly and you can tell as soon as you walk in. They welcome you with delightful smiles and they know their customers by name. You can tell that they appreciate their regulars. The sushi was very tasty. Be mindful that it will be difficult to dine in with a huge party because the space is small. It's more for small groups/takeout style. Overall great experience, I wish I lived nearby so that I can come here more often.

Mix of rolls- highly recommend the "smokey shrimp roll" on the bottom right

Reliable, reasonably priced, and quick- what's not to like? In this area, I would say that Sushi Time is easily the most reliable sushi spot and it's pretty solid. My favorite roll was easily the smokey salmon roll as it's the "best of both worlds" with smoked salmon and shrimp. All in all, it's hard to mess up here!

Bling Bling Roll, and my mom got some kind of Spicy Tuna Roll.

A neighbourhood sushi spot from my childhood. They recently renovated their space. The sushi is very fresh and people are always going in and out the shop to pick up orders. I like to get their Bling Bling roll because it has the biggest variety of fish, more than a rainbow roll (I'm very indecisive). Kind of sad they don't have uni anymore but it be like that.

I've been ordering from Sushi Time for 10 years! This little gem has been such a staple to the neighborhood, we are so grateful it's just a short walk away. Any time I'm craving some sushi, I just come right over. The owner and staff have consistently been friendly through the years, it really is one of those local businesses you feel proud to support! Love this place and will continue coming regularly!

Alaskan Roll Spicy Salmon Roll

Super friendly staff, fresh rolls, and great prices. There are only two tables for two people each, but a lot of people call ahead and order to go. You can also pickup already prepared rolls that they make throughout the day and display in the open cooler fridge.

I was so excited to finally try these guys out and was surprised when my spicy salmon rolls came with a pungent scallion taste. My friend like their avocado roll- but for my staple basic roll, I was quite disappointed in mine. The staff is super nice of course and I believe everyone when they say their rolls are fresh, I just need to order it again to truly get that experience... sans the scallion overload.

The sushi here is SOOO GOOD!! This place is every vegetarians dream come true! The sushi is so beyond good and there's so many amazing options; I will definitely keep coming back! The spicy veggie crunchy roll was definitely a highlight! This place is a must go to!

Salmon avocado roll

A small takeout sushi restaurant with a large menu. Friendly staff, pretty fast service. Fancy shrimp tempura roll contained avocado, celery, eel, and masago. Very tasty, but couldn't really appreciate the eel - just tasted like shrimp tempura with eels sauce. Eel avocado - nothing special, tasted as you would expect - in a good way. Spider crab roll - had carrots and celery, topped with masago and Japanese Mayo. Not the best spider crab I've had, but pretty good. Salmon avocado - fresh ingredients, what more can you ask for. Crab lovers roll - menu said contains real crab, but all I got was fake crab; maybe they prepared the wrong roll; it's okay if you enjoy the fake crab meat. Great take out if you're in the hood.

The sushi garden for customers on the go!

If the lightning-fast service, consistency in quality and freshness, and cute ambience weren't enough to convince me that this was the best place to grab a sushi roll in Queens, the fact that I'm always served with smiles all around from staff that take an immense amount pride in their craft is the cherry on top for me. A neighborhood gem and a place I can always make time for. :)

But this place completely knocked it out of the park. It far exceeded everything we anticipated. We were seated in a private booth, which made the experience feel even more authentic and intimate. Every dish that came out was absolutely delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. They even provided a bell to press for service, and each time, the server appeared almost instantly with a warm smile. It's clear the owner and management truly know how to create and run a successful business--from the attention to detail to the seamless service and overall experience. For a moment, it truly felt like we had been transported back to Japan. An unforgettable dining experience.

For our food we ordered the hako sushi, tornado omelette fried rice, trio tuna sushi roll, yakitori platter (ordered chicken gizzard and gyu harami on the side) and the A5 Wagyu cooked on the stone grill. I recommend getting the yakitori platter as it's a nice sampler but my husband especially enjoyed the chicken gizzard. My dad never had wagyu before so he especially loved the wagyu but I do think it's expensive for the amount they give you, I can see why it's pricier but just know before you order it's like $45 for 2.5 oz or in our case about 5 thin slices of wagyu. My brother said the tornado omelette was tasty and filling and he enjoyed it. The trio tuna sushi roll was very fresh. As for the service, I think everyone was pleasant but the vibes were a little off, it seems like they were just very exhausted. This doesn't affect the quality of the food or the experience but it was just something I noticed. They were still very attentive and provided great service. The reason for the one star off is because I do wish the Hako sushi had a bit more flavor, I saw so many different ingredients and fish but none of the flavors were impactful, it was rather one dimensional which was disappointing because it was presented so beautifully. Overall, I recommend giving Izakaya nana a try and I would definitely go again to try other things.

Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.

(source: Google AI) Lunch before a medical appointment in the Forest Hills, Queens, NYC vicinity summons Japanese cuisine. Business was relatively quiet and rather empty on a Tuesday early afternoon for lunch as there were only two people and I subsequently became the third patron. There was no wait for a table and - finally my luck turned around with no wait to be serviced and no negative body language projected against me as a single lady dinning alone! I was finally seen, heard, and acknowledged as I am one life in the smallest measurement. Customer service is, indeed, as described by Yelpers to be attentive, efficient with order fulfillment and polite with reverence by good measures. I did receive a printed sales receipt to retain. I did leave a 20% gratuity for this male server who did served me well. Restroom facilities are relatively clean with a contemporary modern sink. There are Sakura cherry blossom branches that fills the ceiling for decorum. There are QR scan code laminated to the table at the corner to order. I am old school and highly prefer printed paper menus interacting with a human with a waiter for ordering. Disposable bamboo chopsticks and Renge 蓮華 or Chirirenge 散蓮華 in Japanese and Tangchi 湯匙 or Tiaogeng 調羹 in Chinese for spoons are distributed as utensils. This casual Japanese pub is located in Forest Hills' main shopping district on Austin Street. It is very accessible via E, F, R and M trains at MTA NYC Transit Forest Hills -72nd Continental Avenue subway station. I do not see any business cards nor takeout menu for grabs. Four stars? The menu was average and did not really entice my interest. I was hoping to see Matcha ice cream. Tonkotsu soup Ramen noodles, $17.99 豬骨拉麵 Served with kikurage, menma, half brown soft boiled egg, scallions, pork Chashu, and fishcake. Pork chashu チャーシュー, a Japanese dish of braised fatty pork belly. It was served in a standard Melamine ramen bowl, but not piping hot with steam visibly emitted as I desired. This Ramen noodle entrée includes one side salad with ginger dressing. The salad was average. The ginger dressing was also average served separately, but rather insufficient in quantity. Oh! I wanted slightly more salad dressing, but not the entire restaurant's stock like SNL's "Lisa From Temecula." The noodles are the main protagonist in this entrée as I wholesomely enjoyed. Asian noodle soup is always comfort food during tumultuous times. All other ingredients were a delight, fresh and served middling warm, but neither hot or piping hot. The pork belly was average. The brown half soft boiled egg was okay, but I prefer white eggs. The soup base broth is Tonkotsu for pork bones and it is not spicy nor salty. The Tonkotsu soup broth was average. Wafuu Izakaya includes a side salad with this entrée which most Japanese restaurants charge the salad a separate fee and distinguishes from competitors. Hot Matcha green tea was served which I am grateful. Matcha green tea (either hot or cold) is one of my favorite default. This noodle soup and salad certainly eat my fill. The hot pot itself I think was average but the real standout for me was the appetizers. Seating in a booth tucked away in a corner on the first floor was a bit awkward to navigate. The sauce station downstairs was not well maintained and several items were out of stock, but that may have been because it was around 9PM. Second floor seating and sauce station are better. Food 4.5/5: Main complaint is that their menu is really confusing, despite this being my second visit. There are 4 pricing tiers. Everyone in a party has to choose the same one, so it can get pricey fast. Higher tiers include seafood and more premium wagyu cuts. You still get unlimited wagyu in the lowest tier but seafood is not included. I think this setup is fine because premium seafood items like lobster and crab tend to clutter the pot and are difficult to deshell while hot but also taste worse after cooled. Although the premium wagyu cuts do taste richer and "melt in your mouth," most of the fat is renders into the broth. Therefore, I don't think hot pot is the best way to enjoy wagyu, so the higher tiers didn't feel worth the price. The best part of the meal was definitely the appetizers and specialty dishes. The wagyu bone marrow was amazing and a must-try but only available to the second tier or up. Ambiance 3.5/5: I think being tucked away in a corner booth made the experience less enjoyable. The table was small for a party of 6, so we constantly had to rearrange dishes whenever new food arrived. It was inconvenient that everyone had to get up whenever I needed to refill my drink or sauce. Service 4/5: The first floor sauce station wasn't restocked throughout our stay so options were limited. Otherwise no real complaints regarding service to our table.
