I ordered for pick up after one of my friends recommended it to me and boy, the fish was very fresh and it was at an affordable price! They are not on any food delivery apps yet but there's a lot of parking in the area if you want to drop in for a meal or pick up. My fiancé and I stopped by for a Sunday lunch and we did the party tray D (cash only). We opted for the angry bird roll, Toro scallion and it did not disappoint. It was so good we came back with our friends to get their omakase and we had a good time, eating and drinking the night away. The uni toast, botan ebi, tuna and Toro was my favorite! Cheers to the Chef!

Just updating the menu pics here. Prices went up. The rolls are still delicious though. And the staff is very friendly.

Yellowtail, Alaska, Eel avocado rolls, and side of miso soup

Sushi Akio has always been a solid sushi place when I'm having cravings and I always find myself ordering their lunch specials (every day until 4pm) from time to time. Currently it's around $14 for 3 rolls (with your choice of soup or salad), but I still think it's a decent price compared to other places. My go-to rolls are the Alaskan roll, eel avocado, and yellowtail. I usually get takeout more often than eating in because it's a small spot that can get busy. I've ordered from them over the course of many years and the food and service has been pretty consistent, as well.

Quick lunch date with my bae. Not a fancy restaurant but fixed my sushi craving. The portion is quite small to the price we paid. Sashimi regular costs 21$ for 10 pieces but very small cut. We also ordered kani salad and shrimp tempura. All the portions are small even though the food is okay. We might consider to go back again.

Wanted to get quick sushi take out to celebrate a fam members' birthday but didn't want to dine out at an AYCE spot. Sushi wasn't WOW but also wasn't bad. Total for about 9 rolls (mix of regular, fancy, and deluxe) and 2 sushi Deluxe boxes came out to around $170. The fish didn't taste exactly fresh but also we were glad no one got sick after the meal. The pieces however were very inconsistent in size and some of the color of the fish was off?? The sushi pieces however in the sushi Deluxe was prob the best part esp that toro piece.

Another visit to my favorite sushi spot in Queens... Excellent omakase ... I will once again let the pictures speak for themselves...

I have been here a few times since the summer began and I must say even though Steven is away on vacation his staff took great pride and care in delivering tasty sushi as usual. I ordered some of the specials of the day which were California Uni, Chu Toro, and Sweet Shrimp. The chef gave me a complimentary special of the mango salad and I was thoroughly pleased very sweet and juicy mango titillating the taste buds yummy! I also really enjoyed the special sauce they put on the scallop roll reminds me of the Marilyn Monroll Yasu used to make at his spot wow! The eel was tasty as well and fatty just the way I like it with the just the right amount of eel sauce. The miso soup was hot as usual and the green tea smooth way to swallow it all down. All in all had a great time with great service and food to match. I highly recommend this place hopefully they will add Omakase to the menu one day eventually. I'm looking forward to my next visit to see what they have in store. I highly recommend this place for dining in or takeout they also offer delivery as well enjoy! See pictures below of my spread.

    Omakase Sushi

For Omakase of $70, this is highly recommended. It doesn't come with very fancy or rare fish. But the quality of fish is fresh and you will have you pay over $150-$200 if eating in Manhattan. I would highly recommend to try it if you don't want to go to Manhattan. so far Locally in forest hills, it's the BEST priced and quality Omakase.

Such a good deal for their omakase for $70, especially if you need that sushi fix but you too lazy go to into the city. Reasonable pricing with decent portions. The sushi tasted fresh - nothing too fancy but just about right!

    Soft Shell Crab Tempura.
    Glenn V.

An early dinner bell wrang out the tune of 'Its Too Early to Hit the Sake', so I opted for green tea instead and unlike the Sake, refills are free. Soft Shelled Crab Tempura sounded good in theory, but one little crab atop a mountain of crispy fried vegetable clearly did not seem like enough, he needed a friend. Crazy Spicy Tuna Roll, perhaps in screwing up the title a smidge, had a pale pinkish tuna slab, considerably thick but pale pinkish, I wanted magenta, mauve and fuschia. Spider Roll was a bit of a bore as the spiders legs tasted similar to the legs of my little crabby from the prior dish. Why I always need to order an Eel related item? Its actually a very logical reason but too nostalgic for the purposes of my review.

Decent local sushi spot. The rice and fish are fresh. I usually get Party Tray B - any 10 regular rolls for around $47-50 which is a decent deal if you have family or want leftovers the next day. Note the party trays are cash only otherwise they do accept credit cards.

    Dinner - 3 rolls at a total of $17

We got a variety of their nigiri, a couple of their rolls, and tried a bunch of their appetizers. I wasn't the biggest fan of their takoyaki or their sushi pizza as I felt that it was mostly just flour and rice--with barely any sauce. On the other hand, their unagi fried rice was flavorful, their nigiri and rolls had an amazing fish:rice ratio, and their fried scallops were delicious. Overall, unbeatable deal and solid quality sushi. Would definitely come back!

In reality, they don't serve high quality sushi omakase or anything fancy. However, they do serve some of the best sushi rolls in the area. Always fresh and many crazy concoctions that will satisfy almost any taste buds. I have been coming here ever since moving into the neighborhood. The servers have always been kind and helpful. The restaurant is very small and really focus mostly on takeout or delivery. On the last visit, I really like the Mini Scallop Roll and Spicy Tuna Crunchy Roll. Munchy Roll was just okay. White Tuna Sashimi was too cold and icy, while the White Tuna Nigiri was somewhat better. However, truth be told, just come for the fun and interesting sushi rolls and forget about the nigiri or sashimi.

As…read moresomeone with a severe gluten allergy, I was really excited to try out this place because I saw a lot of reviews online praising for the way the staff members handle food allergies. I went in right around opening time (noon) on the weekend - the outside is a bit unassuming and partially covered by awning but the inside was brightly lit and the lady at the register (I wish I asked for her name) was incredibly warm and welcoming. She was super enthusiastic about helping me identify which rolls would be safe for me to have. They also have a grab-and-go section where certain popular rolls and sides have already been prepped, but as long as you're willing to wait, the chefs are more than happy to make a fresh batch of a specific roll, even if there are already packed portions of the same exact roll in the grab-and-go section. I thought this was a really thoughtful approach to appeasing all customers. I ended up going with a Philadelphia roll and a Mango Tango specialty roll, which contained a combination of salmon and tuna, mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The ingredients were very fresh and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Without even asking, I was given gluten-free tamari sauce instead of normal soy sauce. The combination of the restaurant's extensive menu and how kind the staff were made this a really wonderful experience - I was very satisfied with my order and definitely see myself coming back again and again whenever I have a sushi craving. The only downside is that this is really more so a grab-and-go spot in general, as there were only two small tables in the entire store. As a heads up, they also prefer to take cash instead of card.
