First of all, I wasn't happy with the service here. I had to get up from my seat to grab the attention from the waiter. It wasn't even that busy. The restaurant looked new and the decor was nice. However, everything else was horrible. The bathroom was so messy and gross. The food was subpar and they charged city prices. We ordered different types of soup, but the soups looked and tasted the same. They charged an 18% service fee or gratuity for a party of 2. Also, the bill had charges for extra food that we didn't even order so we complained about that and they took it off. Last but not least, they were so racist at the end. When they asked where are you from? I was like I know where this is going. I said Sunnyside/ Woodside area. Then the manager or owner said mani pedi?? I'm like wth??? With that nonsense I won't ever come back. I feel like if they treated my friend and I this way imagine how they would act around other asians. ASIANS STAY AWAY as they group all of us as nail technicians and not as individuals.

Cute and very reliable, the food was very tasty, the server was extremely nice, and it's right out near a subway exit. Super convenient.

Decent salmon poke bowl, but the chicken teriyaki bento box was very subpar. The chicken was bland and extremely chewy

My friend were in the area and wanted a quick bite. We stopped in here for the first time and we were glad we did. The restaurant is not big but it's clean and the energy was calm and cool. Service was quick and efficient. We ordered the "67" and Magic Kani rolls (too bad I did not take pics). Both came with 8 pieces and we were able to share. Both were delicious. I'll definitely order from here again!

The party platter arrived without any bag. Portions were so small for its price.

Ordered takeout for sushi and sashimi. Very disappointed. First of all, we ordered two platters (party platter and 14pc sashimi platter) but they delivered separately because they forgot about one. They called and explained, which is fine, but the second platter arrived without any bag. It didn't seem sanitary arriving with just the platter. The sushi and sashimi were really mediocre and the portions were super small for its price. The rice and sushi had no tastes. Really had to rely on soy sauce for the taste. The first online order will get 20% off. But I wouldn't come back for takeout or dine in considering the food were not up to standard. *Correction: I typed the wrong number for the sashimi platter. It should be 14pc not 17pc. It doesn't take away the fact the the second platter was delivered without a bag. It arrived with just the platter and again it doesn't seem sanitary.

Salmon Avocado Roll, Tuna Avocado Roll, Ikura Roll

I order the 3 rolls set: ikura roll (+1 for offering it but also -1 for execution) didn't hold up in structure and kinda fell apart as I was picking it up. The ikura was lightly marinated and overpowered by the rice. The salmon avocado roll was the best of the three with a huge chunk of salmon and perfectly riped avocado. The tuna Avocado roll was also a bit messy. The size of the sliced fish was super inconsistent through out the roll. Overall the set was good and it came with a choice of soup or salad. The side salad was refreshing and yummy. Room for improvement: The rice was super vinegary, could be slightly less in that category. My only gripe is how wet and sticky the rice was. It took away the rice texture you expect when eating sushi rolls. Fish, I would say was fresh tasting.

Mikihana appears to have a sushi chef but I'm not sure what his actual job is. It certainly isn't preparing fresh sushi. I ordered California Rolls to-go today. Simple right? The rolls were faded. The rice in the roll was stale and the ginger slices were dried out and wilted. Mighty dang electric Wasabi sauce though! Cute decor.

Food is immaculate, friendly service most importantly ownert is personally coming up front and taking care of your food choices suggesting the best platters that they can offer!!! Forgot to take all pictures but I had kebabs, tempura rolls, specialty rolls & dessert & mango sorbet to top it off!!! Will definitely come over and over again!!!

Last time, I remember the place being a bit dark, the service being a bit distant, for lack of better words, and the food being decent, with a particularly good lamb rib shashlik/kebab and a cold green baklava at the end, which fit the service. They apparently updated the interior a couple of years ago, and now it's bright and inviting. None of that would matter if the food were the same, but it happened to be excellent, and this was easily the best Central Asian food I've had in a while, aside from maybe one dish. We started with an Israeli Salad, which, as the host didn't specify, came in the large size for $16.50. The salad included the typical diced tomato, onion, cucumber, and bell peppers, but there was also a little bit of lettuce, a pepperoncini, and some avocado on top with some sesame seeds, which was a nice touch. I usually don't love this salad, as there's normally a ton of parsley, but this was good with a light, refreshing dressing, and the various fresh veggies weren't too finely chopped. Next to arrive were the $4 Beef Chebureki, the namesake of this restaurant. I remember these being decent last time, though a bit oily. This time, they were perfect, with a lighter batter on the outside and the middle filled with a large amount of juicy meat and onions. It was juicy enough that the cheburek dripped when cut into, which usually isn't the case. Along with the Samsa below, they were served with a fresh, cold tomato sauce called tomat sousi, which helped cut through the richness. Said samsa, which were $5.50 each, had a choice of meat or pumpkin filling. We mostly went with meat, with the samsa being gigantic compared to most spots, which explains the higher price point. The outside was hot and crispy, with a light dusting of sesame seeds, and the inside had a mix of meat and onion. The meat was on the slightly fatty end, which made it a tad chewy, so in comparison, I liked the cheburek more, which usually isn't the case. Our largest plate was the $20 Plov, or rice pilaf with lamb, which is the national dish of most Central Asian countries. The very large platter had a large bed of rice with some mixed carrots and a few raisins for sweetness. Otherwise, there were some chickpeas, a halved hard-boiled egg, roasted garlic, and peppers. The tender rice was cooked nicely, with a mild sweetness but not too much. The lamb on top was a mixture of leaner pieces and fattier ones, still attached to the bone. The meat was excellent, with both the fatty and leaner pieces tender and flavorful. Of course, for those who wanted more fat, there was some lamb bone marrow. The remaining dishes to round out our meal were a bunch of skewers/kebabs/shashlik, all of which had some sliced red onions, as is typical. My favorite of the bunch, by a tiny bit, was their excellent Lulya, for $5.50 each. These had a mixture of ground beef and lamb, and were tender and excellent. The more flavorful one was the Lamb Ribs for either $7.29 with fat or $9.49 without. We got the former, and they were juicy and rich. Last, but not least, was the standard $7 lamb. The meat was cooked nicely and was pretty tender, and overall it was the most standard, but still good. Outside of maybe the samsa filling, we had an excellent time here. Good portion sizes and good quality meats. I'd recommend it over Stix or other spots.

The restaurant has recently gone thru some renovations and I must say, the restaurant is lovely now! It used to get a huge space but with a very generic/plain atmosphere. It is now so charming; with nice lighting and decorations! Nice improvement! We've always come to Cheburechnaya for the food (not so much the atmosphere), and on this revisit, it did not disappoint! Everything was made to order, fresh and delicious! We were a group of 8ppl, and we ate family style, sharing all of these dishes: MENU: ~ Israeli Salad (large/$16.50): this salad was so fresh and delicious! Slightly dressed; and went perfectly with our meal. ~ Samsa ($5.50 each): you had a choice between meat or pumpkin fillings. The majority of us picked meat, with one picking pumpkin. Everyone enjoyed their hot, flaky and delicious Samsa! ~ Beef Chebureki ($4 each): This was a large pastry filled with beef and onions. We were surprised when we cut into it, that it had a lot of soup in it! Perfectly fried without being greasy at all. This came with a tomato based sauce. This savory pastry was absolutely delicious! Recommended! ~ Plov (rice pilaf) with Lamb ($20): This was a huge platter meant to be shared. 4 of us shared one platter but it could have easily been shared by 5ppl. This was plentiful and so tasty! ~ Kebabs: They offer a large variety of skewers but on this visit, we chose: -- Lamb ($7 each): lean pieces of lamb roasted on a skewer. Can never go wrong with that! -- Lamb rib with fat ($7.29 each): you have the option of ordering these ribs without fat but we opted for the tastier version with fat! These were roasted to perfection and just delish! -- Lulya ($5.50 each): a blend of ground beef and ground lamb; seasoned well, and so delicious! Customer service and hospitality were great; the pacing of our dishes were perfect. Kudos to their entire staff! This was a plentiful and satisfying dinner. Cheburechnaya has a large menu with lots of different offerings. I look forward to a return visit to try some of their more exotic dishes!! Parking: plenty of free neighborhood street parking, as well as metered parking (pay until 7pm). Easily accessible via subway and buses also!

Cuisine: 9 Service: 7…read moreDecor: 7 Value: 9 Overall: 9 Since my favorite Uzbek restaurant Taste of Samarkand closed due to a fire, this restaurant has become my go to for food from that region. There are many other options in the area, but I have always come enjoyed this place, and now I treasure it more than ever before. The decor is a bit loud and gaudy for me personally. I always preferred the interior design of Taste of Samarkand or Art of Grill, but I'm okay with Stix's decor because it's bright and clean. More importantly, I love the food at this place. Every time I come here, it's absolutely fantastic. They shine at grilling skewers, so I'll start with that. You really can't go wrong, but I would always get the lamb, lamb ribs, beef, baby chicken, chicken w/ bones, and sea bass. The lola kebab and the chicken lola kebab are not bad, but definitely better at Art of Grill. For the more adventurous, try the veal sweet bread, veal liver, and lamb fat. The only kebabs I am not a big fan of here are the quail. As for appetizers, you have to get their flavorful Uzbek mantu. However, crispy cheburek and flaky samsa are both excellent too. Herring Garnish is very tasty as well. Moving onto salads, I typically order the Humus and Babaganush for dipping with the Tandoori Bread. Korean Carrot is also a nice starter. If you are fond of soup, then I highly recommend Osh-Potche. Lastly, Asian Pilaf is a nice way to end the meal when dining at an Uzbek restaurant, though I think their version is average. When all is said and done, every meal is always amazing. The cost of the meal is always reasonable. And a good time is always had by all every time.
