Excellent food and service. Miso soup was terrific, reasonable price and beautiful atmosphere.

Beef negimaki was okay; sauce was somewhat saccharine while the meat wasn't seasoned. Salmon burrito was bundled well and the sauce helped add flavor. The sear on the tuna from the C-roll added more snap while the black widow roll had a multitude of different textures between the fried crab and eel.

A solid sushi spot that was giving the calm before the storm. Just a bit a way from Forest Hills Stadium and up Austin St. lies Bamboo Ya. It's a cute sushi spot that has an ample amount of seating which makes for the perfect pre-concert dinner spot. It wasn't super crowded and we were able to sit in the back dining area. We started with some yuzu sake and shumai. Super yummy. This sake was chilled which was a nice touch because it was on the sweet side. Then we split a few rolls. Yellowtail jalapeño is always so simple but usually one of my favs. We were then sent over our duck roll. Another classic and very tasty. We topped it off with the Esther Roll and the Sexy Salmon Roll. Both were very good but the Sexy Salmon roll was my fav. The mango was such a nice touch. We were in and out in a timely manner and we made it to the stadium after a 10 min walk. What a fun and delicious way to start the evening.

    Two rolls Sushi Lunch Special

I went for their lunch special of two rolls for $11.95. It comes with miso soup or salad. I opted for the miso soup which was passable. I ordered the tuna avocado and salmon avocado rolls. They were good but wasn't the best I've ever had. The fish was fresh, no fishy smell or taste, and just the right amount of rice around the seaweed. The avocado added an element of creaminess that complemented the soft fish. The rice was a touch hard, however. The service was good. The waitress was attentive. The inside was neat and dimly lit for atmosphere. Not bad for a quick sushi lunch if you're in the area.

The sushi here is consistently fresh and delicious, always satisfying my craving for quality Japanese cuisine. The service is top-notch; the staff are friendly, attentive, and make dining here a pleasure every time. The place is clean and spacious. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or simply looking to enjoy a great meal out or looking for lunch specials, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It never disappoints! Please see all of my photos!

3 roll lunch special- spicy salmon and salmon avocado

I got some salmon avocado rolls and a spicy salmon roll for the 3 roll lunch special. There was a slight fishy smell, but not too bad! Great salad

We came here for drinks after dinner and it wasn't busy at all. We sat at the bar and decided to start off with some amaretto sours which was not that good honestly but the yuzu sake made up for that. As for the decor, the restaurant was pretty spacious, nicely decorated and seems to be an excellent spot to pregame based on the happy hour menu.

I love that they close at 11 pm. They play a nice music selection, they have a nice vibe instead and the staff is attentive.

This is a spot me and friends go to frequently. Came here for the lunch special and it was a great deal. We got a sooo and I got a side of rice. I love the ribs, very savory. Would definitely recommend this place, the services is great as well.

Solid sushi place. I really love that they offer brown rice as I can't eat white rice. I decided to try this place because the place I usually order from stopped offering brown. So BambooYa you've just gained a regular customer. Everything tasted fresh. I can't comment on the service or establishment itself because I ordered delivery. But delivery was quick and the soup was still hot when it got here. But I'll definitely be stopping in when I'm in the area. Thanks for offering brown rice!

So this is a staple, safe way, convenient, local sushi choice to go to in the neighborhood that's always available. It's not incredible sushi, but it's reliable. The staff is not the most attentive. The decor is kind of random (canoes hanging upside down from the ceiling, ikea lights, cherry blossom tree on the wall)... but like I said, the fish is reliable, and the portions are mostly on the larger side. This time, we were there for happy hour, half of coctails, and the chili margarita was tasty... It was my hubby's 1st time and he was lady of the place because they had fries and lots of options on the menu, and that's usually an indication that perhaps they don't have the best food... but that hasn't been my experience here... The Edemame is edemame... the beef sort ribs were very tender, but I wasn't particularly fond of the sauce in them. It was a tad too sweet for me... the veggies tempura was also a bit disappointing... in the appetizer portion, we had 2 pieces of eggplant, broccoli, and 1 piece of potatoe... the sauce wasn't delicious... We ordered the sushi boat for 3.... it was substantial and truly the star of the show. It came in a boat and the presentation was great... we were five people, and we were all stuffed at the end... like I said, most of the pieces were large. The tuna belt was excellent. The salmon was perfect... the tuna was alright... the dragon roll was delicious... We also had the fried red bean ice cream... it was alright.. the ice cream was still super hard and difficult to cut into...

How was the take out/delivery experience? thanks

Good. My order was ready when I arrived.

    Is indoor dining available?

Yes. I ate indoors, last Sunday.

Do they have a surcharge for COVID 19?

I do not believe the prices have changed.

    Is the restrooms available?

I don't know, didn't need to use it. Wiped my hands with antibacterial wipes. I'm sure they are. Most restaurants along Austin St have their restrooms open to their customers. Just double check. The food was good though. Everything we ordered,… Read more

Every course was beautifully presented, impeccably fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the delicate Red Sea Bream and buttery Scallop to the luxurious Toro with Caviar, Sweet Shrimp with Uni, and the unforgettable Eel with Foie Gras, each bite was a masterpiece. What truly elevated the evening was Michael, our sushi chef. He was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every course, the origin of the fish, the flavors, and the best way to enjoy each piece. His passion for his craft was evident, and his attention to detail made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Dining at the sushi bar gave us a front-row seat to watch the artistry behind every piece. The quality of the ingredients, the precision of the preparation, and the genuine hospitality made this one of the finest omakase experiences we've ever had. We walked into a space that immediately stood out with its detailed decor, private dining booths, central bar, and playful Japanese-inspired design. The room had an energetic, immersive vibe that felt less like a traditional neighborhood izakaya and more like a night-out experience with elements inspired by Tokyo nightlife, the kind of place where the setting is as much a part of the visit as the food. The menu has a wide variety of dishes, but the yakitori and comfort food options are some of the highlights. We ordered a few items and found the yakitori selection offering plenty of choices and working well for sharing, with grilled skewers that paired naturally with drinks. The ramen, fried dishes, and other small plates made the menu feel approachable for groups where everyone wanted to try different things. The curry omurice was another standout, combining the comforting flavors of Japanese curry with the soft omelet and rice combination that makes the dish so satisfying. Each dish arrived hot and well assembled, and the variety across the menu gave us room to explore different flavors across the table. The atmosphere is one of the biggest reasons to visit. The restaurant has a fun, energetic vibe with city pop music, themed rooms, and decorative details that make the space feel like an escape from the surrounding area. The private booths and larger seating areas also make it a good option for groups, celebrations, or a more casual date night. We appreciated that the restaurant focused on creating a memorable environment in addition to serving food. The service was friendly and attentive during our visit. The staff were helpful with recommendations, and the food came out at a comfortable pace. The restaurant also has a strong drink program, with cocktails and sake options that pair well with the menu, and happy hour offerings make it a good place for a later evening visit as well. The main thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant prioritizes atmosphere and variety over being a strictly traditional izakaya experience. The menu covers many different types of Japanese dishes, so it may not feel as specialized as a smaller izakaya focused only on a few traditional items. It can also get busy during peak hours, so reservations are helpful for larger groups. The team moved through the room with efficiency, and the pacing of the meal kept the flow steady without feeling rushed. Overall, Izakaya Nana is a fun destination for Japanese food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere in Flushing. The combination of creative decor, comfortable group seating, and a broad menu makes it a place worth returning to when looking for a more entertaining dining experience rather than just a quick meal. The curry omurice, yakitori, and shareable dishes are some of the items we would especially come back for.
