Friendly service and very spacious! We came on a Saturday to catch up and grab food. The sushi was very fresh and delicious! I got the sashimi lunch and really enjoyed it - very reasonable pricing. I would def come back if I was in the area- it is very close to the Queens Plaza train station.

If you are in the LIC area and wanted to fulfill your sushi cravings, I would highly recommend Cyan Izakaya which provides a vast menu of raw fish options as well as yakitori options if you wanted something cooked. I was able to try the crispy rice, 18-Piece sashimi deluxe platter, and the yakitori. The freshness of the fish was of good quality and the presentation was on point. My favorite were the nigiri and sashimi. The salmon crispy rice was also great. My favorite of the yakitori was the chicken so make sure to order a few to round out your meal. The only reason I took off 1 star is because the vibe and decor is a bit stale and feels like you are eating in a hotel restaurant.

Fairly new place with variety of options, very fresh! The decor is very clean modern vibe, cocktail drinks were pretty and tasty, tried the yes please & rain or shine. The sushi rolls were fresh, and really enjoyed the yakitori - great flavors! Overall it's a regular sushi restaurant, but the quality is better & elevated.

Beautiful new izakaya in LIC, amazed by the decor and ambiance of the place! Menu is simple, has all the basics of a Japanese restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious! Nori tacos were a bit small for the price (2 bite sized pieces for $10) but still worth the try. Would love to come back to try other food and the cocktails!

Hubby and I came in for dinner on Friday and had a delightful experience. Spacious and really nice vibe, I like the comfortable & soothing ambience along with their attentive services and pretty good sushi. We start off with Scallop, Squid, and Octopus Yakitori which I think they were alright. The Blue Fin Tuna Nori was pretty good. We also got the Sushi & Sashimi Mix, good quality and fresh. Lastly wow the Chilean SeaBass, it was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Long Island first izakaya?! Place is newly renovated and it is very nice We had sushi, sashimi, curry bowl etc. I think their sushi taco is definitely great. We love it. Sushi in general is great. However, curry bowl is bit disappointing. Service is awkward. They are showing enthusiastic of cleaning tables for us but we have not finished so a bit of less enthusiasm would be much appreciated.

Great new izukaya place at queensboro plaza near the LIC area. This is right by the train station by the 7, N and W. It's a pretty big restaurant with a nice spacious dining area for small and larger parties. There is seating at the bar with two TVs and also seating at the sushi bar. We got the blue fin tuna nori taco, salmon spicy crispy rice, beef hamachi, and the sushi and sashimi mix (including a complimentary hot sake)! Food came out quick in increments which is nice and gets you drooling for the next plate without getting too full had the food came out all at once. Sushi/seafood was extremely fresh and overall great quality of food! We would recommend and come back!

A new Gem in LIC - Cyan is a Must-Visit! Cyan is exactly what Long Island City needed its stunning new addition that combines elegance, creativity, and unforgettable flavors. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, modern atmosphere that feels both chic and welcoming truly a beautiful restaurant The menu is inventive without being over-the-top every dish we tried was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor

Everything we ate here was fantastic. Sushi melts in your mouth. My boyfriend said this place has ruined all other sushi for him. The place is beautiful, excellent vibe for a date or friends. Our server was very sweet and very helpful. Can't wait to come back!

I came in after a Pilates class and I was kind of afraid I'd be turned away because... I looked kind of crusty and the place looked so fancy even in the reception area. But they didn't even bat an eye and showed us to our tables. As soon as we sat, we got some nice, refreshing edamame. I'm not often in LIC but I enjoyed watching all the dogs passing by in the floor-to-ceiling windows. Lot's of corgis and dogs that look like my dog (curly haired, fluffy, small-ish dogs with boba for eyes). The food was good, I'd recommend the uni nori taco (my favorite) and the drinks (I got the rain or shine). The taco was umami and cold and salty, the drink was smooth and not too sweet, which went well with the food. The risotto was good too, I feel like the rice(?) wasn't too hard, could've been saltier but that could also just be that I like intense flavors. Going off of that, I'd say skip the rolls and go straight to the entree stuff because the rolls were a bit basic (unless that your preference). If you get the yakitori, try the salmon belly. It sounded gnarly to me, but if you like fatty and that bitter kind of umami taste, go for it, it's good. The scallops were good too; it was hilarious because it comes with so many on a stick, I was wondering how they even got them on without breaking them

Very delicious izakaya. The Yakitori were my favorite, the salmon belly was super tender and fatty and full of umami. It was my first time having conch, the texture was delightful and the sauce flavor was smoky and delicious. The rolls were very unique. The truffle Naruto sauce served as a great dipping for the maki rolls! The Wagyu and Lic rolls were very interesting, the wasabi bit on top was great. I just wish there was more Wagyu and Hokkaido scallop, as the crab (which was good too, not imitation crab) dominated.

It's a new restaurant in LIC- been wanting to try it out for a while because it's very attractive when I walk past it from the outside. Finally got to try it with my half Japanese boyfriend, he loves Izakaya that's why I dragged him here and thank God, he was impressed. We ordered Happy hour appetizers and drinks. I had a lychee martini and he had sapporo I believe. We had some yakitoris, dumplings and rock shrimp tempura. Definitely very worth it for the price! Really good portion and everything's well seasoned. Of course the hospitality is top-tier! Everyone checked on us consistently and the Manager/ owner was very kind and friendly. We definitely should support this business!!!

Went there for my Birthday dinner and was so dissapointes! The decor was beautiful...Food was just meh, and prices are high on par with Manhattan...Creative rolls were whack, traditional rolls were ok but expensive...Other dishes missed the mark curry seafood dish was watery and they tried to pass off not fresh seafood by covering it in the sauce, I DID notice...Service was chaotic, seemed like they were still in training and there were 2 different people attenting to us and both didn't seem to know what was goint on or communicate with each other....I blew $200 for a very mediocre experience...Save your money, don't come here....

The wait was around 30 minutes for 4 on at 1:30p on a Sunday. By the time our meal ended, there were several empty tables. Service (4/5): Timing of the dishes was not in sync with the table (not that that bad, just noticeable). Ordering wasn't as smooth as we hoped but all in all corrected (order was wrong but was corrected when we were asked to re-confirm the order). By the time we sat, the food was out within 20 min and then the pancakes came out another 20 min after the first dish. Food (5/5): The food was outstanding! Seriously like everything from the pancakes, ramen, to the lemonade. Lunch special of Tan Tan ramen (special May 2026) and Pork Cha-Shu Bowl. Tan Tan was spectacular and was def better than the bowl. The broth had so much flavor with richness, spice, spicy level, half seasoned egg. The noodles were also a lovely bouncy chew. The pork was pretty standard with about 5 thin slices spread over a soy sauce based sauce. Omurice was very silky. The egg was nice and runny. I liked that the sauce wasn't too ketchup-flavor forward. I enjoyed the rice which had bits of meat which gave it more flavor too. Crème Anglaise Souffle Pancake - my only wish was that there was more of it because it was so good. The cream that was on top was not too heavy and the zest flavors blended surprisingly well. It comes with a little side of fresh fruit. The cake was not overly egg-y in flavor either. Lavender Lemonade - Not too tart and not too sweet. I liked the forward lavender taste.

Just something to keep in mind when you walk in. My friends and I did family style and ordered the Omurice, Vert Frais Matcha Soufflé Pancake, Matcha French Toast, and Large Fries. The French fries came out first and were basically McDonald's fries with a little Parmesan sprinkled on it. Everything looked pretty and instagrammable but at most tasted just okay. I wasn't in love with the Omurice sauce which tasted more tomato-based than I prefer. The soufflé was nice and fluffy but the pancake itself didn't really have flavor. The matcha French toast took the cake for me. It was soft and crunchy on the crust. My group ordered drink as well and the total ended up being $120+ with tip. Way more expensive than I was expecting, but I was happy to treat my friends to a nice birthday brunch. Come for the photos and aesthetic, but don't expect much when it comes to the food.

Dashi Okume sells ... you guessed it ... dashi. They sell several kinds, and you can taste all of them there in the shop before deciding which to take home with you (I tried them all and went home with one bag of vegetable dashi and one bag of sweet shellfish dashi). They also make custom-made dashi. You can choose from around 30 ingredients - dried fish, seaweed, mushrooms, and vegetables. They grind it up and put into individual bags for you. Such a fun idea, but I thought I should try some of their pre-made dashi options before creating mine own. They also sell miso, rice, noodles, rice seasoning, seaweed, tea, and other items. I picked up some Japanese mustard, seaweed, and rice seasoning to take home with my dashi. Beyond being a great shop, they also have a cafe area where they offer a teishoku set meal - you pick your fish, which comes with tea, rice, miso soup, pickles, and sides. They also offer an omakase popup. The shop is beautiful, and the service was very friendly and helpful. I'll certainly return for more shopping but next time I plan to make a meal of it and try their teishoku set.

I always order their "obento box", which comes with a choice of an entrée from their daily-rotating list (so cute how they write them on a few chalkboards that they move around the restaurant for whoever's ordering). Everything I've ordered has always been delicious, from the various fish dishes (salmon / arctic char are particular favourites), the stir-fried pork, and their sushi rolls. The salad is invariably so fresh, and the small side of obanzai is always a treat :) Price point is unparalleled -- I think the bento was priced at $12 when I first came a few years ago, and it's still $12 now. Such a lovely cute restaurant -- service is fast and friendly, and the interior, while a bit small, is definitely very cosy and has that unique rustic Japanese aesthetic to it (including a lot of their tableware). Cuisine: 6 Service: 7…read moreDecor: 7 Value: 6 Overall: 6 I have to preface that, if I had reviewed Hibino in the past, they likely would have received 4 stars. Unfortunately, my latest experience was such a letdown that I have to average that into this review. My usual order here over 10+ years has always been their Kaisen Don, which had some of the better quality sushi rice available in Queens. If you don't think sushi rice is important, then skip my review. If you do, then know that my preference is slight warm rice that does not clump together, with a nice touch of vinegar. Hibino seems to get this part right regularly, but not this past Sunday. It was cold, clumpy, and super light on seasoning. Furthermore, as soon as the bowl arrived, I was a bit skeptical since it's not the usual square box filled with premium goodies. Instead, it was a smaller round bowl with relatively common pieces of sashimi. In the past, there were toro, ikura, uni and scallop, but none were present on Sunday. The only premium pieces I received was the spotted prawn. The rest were salmon, yellowtail, bluefin tuna, sea bass, and arctic char. More importantly, some of the sashimi pieces were somewhat mushy and slightly fishy, not the best quality. On the other hand, we also ordered their Chirashi, which had seared toro, yellowfin tuna, salmon belly, yellowtail belly, shrimp, and flying fish roe. Between the proteins and rice is a layer of shredder egg. Sadly, rice was still cold and lacked flavor, but the egg did help a bit. Though I prefer the thin slices of sashimi in the Kaisen Don over the chunky pieces of fish in the Chirashi, I did prefer the latter on that day. Bottom line, I will give them another chance, but the downgrade on the quality of rice and premium seafood in the Kaisen Don was a major disappointment. Praying my next visit restores my faith in the restaurant.

Each set includes miso soup, fresh sashimi of the day, uni topped tofu custard, pickled vegetables, eggplant, pickles, and your main dish. Our favorite has to be the katsu, it's probably the best value item on the menu. The miso cod was also excellent, super buttery and tasty while not being too expensive. Both options are available under $40. I would also recommend just ordering the standard Japanese rice, since it's already very filling as it is and we've never needed any of the rice with additions. Service can be a bit slow if you come later in the evening, which is understandable as it gets busier with all the set meals coming out. Ambiance is super cozy, with a sit down area that has cushions and a low table. Can't really go wrong with any spot in the restaurant. We come back here all the time when we're craving something homey and filling, would recommend Honzen!
