Constantly seeking shawarma options nearby and haven't been so successful thus far, but this place hit the spot! We got two platters: chicken shawarma and beef kebab. I felt like the chicken was superior but I was really seeking shawarma in general. The price is a little more than I would want ($25 each) but it comes with a LOT. Each platter came with 4 sides each and there are a ton of options so we got: hummus salad (must), turmeric cauliflower (wish there were more of this but it was delicious), chickpea salad, babaganoush, Katan Katan salad, fried eggplants, spicy tomato salad (would have skipped this one). Tahina sauce was standard and Nana sauce was interesting. Can come on rice, salad, or couscous. .The couscous was my favorite. The pitas were a little small but did the job. Always on the hunt for good Israeli, Jewish, middle eastern food. I happened to be in the area and found this spot. I love the variety on the menu I was spoiled for choice and stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes trying to decide which direction we were going in today. I decided on the falafel platter with pita, couscous, 4 Salatim (hummus, babaganoush, Israeli salad, tabouli) with a limonana. Definitely a proper limonana it was so mint heavy exactly how I love it. The falafel was green herby and delicious. The tabouli was lemony and everything was fresh. My only complaint is that I couldn't try more when I was there. I love this place- it's like an elevated Mediterranean quick eats. Their wide selection of salads are beautifully presented and freshly made for you to choose from up front, and many of them are stars. My favorites are the eggplant salad, tabbouleh, baba ghanoush, potato and carrots. The pita chips are extra crispy and perfect to dip with your salads. I go for falafel as my main dish, the chicken schwarma is kind of plain IMO. I want to try the schnitzel next time. Don't be afraid to ask for a half/half of their rice and cous cous. My only complaint is they are a bit pricey. I can't complain too much though because the ingredients are fresh and I haven't found anything else like them nearby. I do wish they didn't charge extra for the spicy sauce they make, it's so so tasty and delicious. They should share it more with the world. read more

Whenever I'm in the neighborhood I always stop by for a falafel pita. They make the best ones. They stuff them to full capacity and the flavor is on point. I ordered pickup online for 11:30 (earliest available time), and they were finishing up my last item when I walked in at 11:30. The Pita Chips for the Babaganoush were very crisp (maybe a bit overdone?). I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be, but it was too hard for me. I ended up using my own crackers to eat the babaganoush and I enjoyed that more. The Malawach and Egg Pita was phenomenal. That puff pasty flatbread is perfectly flaky - a great texture balance with the softer fillings. The herbs tasted fresh and went well with the other flavors. A must get! I'm no expert on falafel (not a fan of the texture), but it seemed good for a falafel. Crisp on the outside and crumbly on the inside. The amba sauce that went with it was tasty with a good kick. The salad sides (eggplant salad, fried eggplant, turmeric cauliflower, and mixed Israeli pickles) were a bit disappointing. They tasted like they just came out of the fridge. This is the perfect place for a post workout meal. One of my coworkers had recommended this place so I decided to stop in. Since it was my first time there, it was a little difficult to navigate the menu but the workers were extremely helpful in explaining the menu items and giving recommendations. I decided on a chicken sharma which comes in a pita and cole slaw and pickles and sauce. I also ordered a mint lemonade which tasted like a lemonade slushy but better. I wish I had taken pictures to capture this delicious moment. The chicken was tender, juicy and flavorful and the crunch and vinegary flavor of the sides inside the pita was spectacular. Local favorite of mine, Nana Good Eats never fails to disappoint! I usually call for pickup as I live nearby. The food is always served fresh (fries aren packed up fresh when you arrive so they won't get soggy) and staff are super friendly. If I have time during the lunch hour, I'll sit outside on their porch seating to enjoy blue skies and see locals go about their day (North Shore Farms market is right next door). My go to order: the sabich sandwich (mild/ or spicy depending on mood) with an order of the zaatar fries. I think they rolled out a new combo menu which includes a drink for $19. (a steal!) The girl in the front was very rude, demanding and extremely judging of me and my girlfriend. It was our first time in here and wanted a moment to look at the menu and see what all was offered. I grabbed the Chicken Shawarma and she grabbed the Falafel sandwich. Our food was finished and she didn't call us over to let us know and instead stared at us for a while until I took the incentive to ask if our food was done. She simply nodded and handed our bags. You have a choice of meat or veggie wrapped in a crispy phyllo dough served with their homemade tahini .. 5 in a serving and to say those were bangin is an understatement! I also got " The Whole Shebang" .. different platters served over a choice of couscous, basmati rice or Israeli salad . I got the falafel ( perfection ! ) over the salad and you get a choice of four sides and it comes with either pita chips or pita bread . I opted for the chips and let me tell ya , these ain't no Stacy's pita chips , these are the real deal homemade middle eastern pita chips .. crunchy and delicious! My sides were-beets, red cabbage , vinegar peppers and roasted cauliflowers. Everything was fresh and delicious and the portions were perfect ! The owner was super sweet and friendly . My husband got the falafel sandwich, puffed pickled and I got the chicken shawarma plate with half salad half rice. I highly recommend the nana pink sauce. I got 4 sides with my rice plate- cauliflower, pickles, hummus and egg salad. Their potato salad was delicious and comes with egg, peas, carrots and pickles. Service was amazing- everyone was super patient while we decided what we wanted. There's 3 tables total 2 2 seaters and 1 4 seater. Very cozy environment. My bf and I went last weekend and opted to share the Chicken Shawarma Platter ($17) and the "just a taste" falafels ($5) for a late lunch. We got our chicken platter with couscous and 4 salads: babaganoush, eggplant, cauliflower, and Israeli salad. I really enjoyed the cauliflower and the banaganoush. The Israeli salad was ok but the eggplant with onions and peppers was mediocre- a little bland. I liked the couscous; the texture of it was good but I wish it was a littleeee more flavorful. The chicken was tasty and not dry at all. The pita was SO GOOD, definitely a highlight and I was sad I had to share half with my bf! The falafels were good- crispy on the outside and still moist in the inside. I used to hate falafels because I've had too many that were just dry, dry, dry. But these were really good. This restaurant definitely deserves the high ratings! They have a great selection of sides ("salads") for their pita sandwiches or platters. I typically go for their chicken shawarma platter which comes with couscous or rice, 4 salads and pita. It also comes with some pickled vegetables, adding a different flavor profile to the meal. The chicken is always tender and the salads are pretty good. I prefer the babaganoush and hummus but they also have a great selection of other vegetable salads. The pita is best when you first get it but it's just okay. I really like their couscous which is just a very simple base but made perfectly. Also, their falafel is different than other places that I've tried. It's nice and crispy on the outside while still soft on the inside but also very green. Your meal also comes with your selection of their sauce, but everything is already so flavorful on its own that nothing really needs the additional sauce. Since moving to the area, Nana's is one place that is consistently fantastic and everyone I bring here raves about it. Simple, yes, but freshly made, flavorful, and healthy isn't always easy to find when you're trying to grab a quick bite. I think the way the menu is laid out is a bit confusing if you've never been. Once you understand how to navigate that, it's smooth sailing. My regular order is the Mu'shwarma, pita or platter depending on how I feel that day. I am pescatarian and love that they don't use artificial fake meat, but this dish is just really well flavored mushrooms. Their platters are great because you can choose so many sides, and they REALLY stuff their pitas, so I think either one works, depending on what mood I'm in. If you get the platter, you can choose pita or pita chips on the side. Their pita chips are fresh and the best I've ever tasted. I'm not usually a drink gal, but I love their Limonana so I do order it quite frequently. Very refreshing and made with all fresh ingredients. Not overly sugary or anything. I've tried a bunch of their salads/salatim and they are all amazing, but the Babaganoush is a MUST. I'm not always a fan of the dish because of the texture but theirs is the best I've ever had. So flavorful and fantastic. Any of the spicy salads (spicy tomato) are actually quite spicy, so be aware. There isn't so much of an ambiance here as there's 1-2 tight tables and it's definitely more of a to go place, although I have dined in and eaten outside when weather permits. There is no table service. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but I can often stretch one of their meals to 2 and the ingredients are so fresh and so delicious, so it is worth the price. Don't expect any $7 street cart pitas here though! I've taken my parents and several friends and everyone that has been has only raved about how fresh and delicious it is, so it's a must go to and a neighborhood staple for me. read more

I ordered the Shishlik (chicken with an attitude) Whole Shebang, on a bed of israeli salad and rice with turmeric cauliflower, baba, hummus and tomato salad. I would switch out the tomato salad next time, I loved the flavor wasn't a huge fan of the texture. Everything tasted so fresh and beautiful. This place is a gem! I don't know why I didn't discover it earlier. I love Israeli/Mediterranean food and Nana is doing it very authentic with all the classic salad fix ins done right. I got the chicken shawarma over basmati rice. It came with so much food you could never go hungry here. You get 4 side salads; I chose the beets, shepherd's salad, sautéed eggplant, and chickpea salad. If I were to go back I would've gotten the hummus so i had something to dip the pita in. The chicken was well seasoned and the rice was cooked perfectly. All that food came out to about $20 but it could easily have lasted a normal person 2 meals. As far as falafels go, Nana does these balls right! I've been dying to try this place and was not disappointed. There's not much room for dining in, but they also have a few tables outside perfect for a nice fall day. I got the whole in one which is both a falafel and sabich pita, and the Moroccan cigars. I asked for half half of vegetarian and meat for the cigars, but they all tasted like meat. The whole in one pita was amazing! All the flavors and textures melded perfectly and the massive thing somehow held together as I was eating it. There's nothing I love more than a perfectly constructed sandwich that doesn't fall apart or become a mess when you bite into it. The falafels were perfectly herby, crispy, and not heavy. This is currently one of my top newly discovered spots in Whitestone now! I came here after yelping top spots in Whitestone and immediately noticed the number of 5 star reviews on this page. I had quite high expectations going into the shop. Not surprisingly, it didn't disappoint. *Up to date, I've been here a total of 3 different times (each bringing my friends/family to introduce them to this awesome place). HELPFUL TIPS - Go for the platter option. So much food & lots of options to choose from if you are hungry, want to share with other people or don't mind leaving extras for the next day. - Save an extra surcharge by paying cash - You can pay $1 for an extra pita bread PLATTER I love the amount of options you have. You can either go for a slightly cheaper option of getting a pita sandwich. But to be honest, I think the most bang for the buck is definitely the platter. 1) First, you choose the protein. I ordered a chicken shawarma platter and it is the best chicken shawarma that I've had. I've also had the mushwarma, but it didn't quite live up to the chicken option (in my opinion). 2) Second, you choose the type of rice. You have an option of basmati rice or couscous. The couscous is round/very filling. Basmati is more thin, yellow colored and slightly more flavorful. I really want to try both, so I asked for both and found out that you can opt for half/half. 3) The thing I love most about the platter is that you can choose between a variety of 4 different sides. They have a chalkboard where you can read all about each various sides or just point through the glass at whatever looks appetizing. But no matter what you choose, it's gonna be good. Between all the different sides that I've chosen, I loved it all. 4) Lastly, they add a choice of pita bread or pita chips for the platter. I've tried both and love them both. The pita bread is very soft/chewy. The chips are so crunchy. They are both great options. Although the platter may cost about a max of $17+tax, I've never finished my platter in one sitting. I've always found myself to be super full and leaving it to eat for the next day or splitting it between multiple people. They definitely give a whole lot. After stopping nearby on an errand run today, I Yelped for local nearby restaurants and came across this place. After reading the review, decided to give it a shot. I am glad we did. First off, the place is very clean and we like the open kitchen view. We got the chicken shawarma platter which comes with a selection of four sides. The chicken was seasoned well and the rice is amazing and plentiful. For the sides, we got chickpeas and eggplants for example. Wow, the eggplants was very tasty and we could eat a tub of that. Sooooooo happy I found nana good eats! The first week I tried it I had it 3 times that week! Now it's one of my go tos! Located in a shopping center so you can always find parking- I used to always go to Astoria for middle eastern/falafel meals but since finding nana I haven't gone back. Menu shows that's gluten free/vegetarian/vegan which is nice. I love their falafel and mushwarma (mushwarma is a MUST try) I always get "the whole shebang" platter- sides comes in a separate container and I usually save it for another meal because the portions are large. I haven't had anything I didn't enjoy! All the sides are delicious also. Currently they have a few outdoor tables which is nice if you want to sit outside. read more
