Reading the reviews of this place, you can tell it's a hit or miss. In all my experiences here, you have to order it in the restaurant and sit there as they cook it, then it's excellent. If you call it in for takeout, order usually ends up wrong, food ends up soggy and lacking. It's a shame because sometimes you'd rather pick it up than sit there and wait. read more

This is a great spot for Greek food (& more). Service is friendly and prompt, the restaurant is not fancy but I loved the old-fashioned counter seating available. The food was fresh, and delicious. I had the traditional gyro, and my only complaint is that they should include either cucumber or lettuce to offset the richness of the lamb meat. We haven't been here in a while, so we stopped in for a take-out order. The absolute worst ever!! I wouldn't even call it Greek food. The place must have new owners. The souvlaki was dry and flavorless. I couldn't even determine what kind of meat it was! Arguably the most flavorful, Gyro and Souvlaki and Bayside area. No disrespect to Gyro Corner's competitors, but the char on the meats were on point as well as the tasty, sizzling halloumi, and the well-dressed Horiatiki salad. It's not a fancy place by any measure, but tavernas in Greece are notorious for their simplicity and judged by the flavor they put on the plate. Gyro Corner definitely emulates the classic Souvlaki Taverna of any town in Greece large or small. The service is snappy and attentive, primarily because there aren't a lot of tables inside. This is definitely more of a delivery takeout joint. Nice and small, some would even say intimate. The constant entertainment of watching the staff fly around to fulfill what seems to be a million orders a night makes for great background harmonious to whatever discussion you're having with your company. Congratulations to the people that have this place going, I can recall approximately 15 years of them being around but that's only because I was unfamiliar with the area. I have been here a couple of times and have enjoyed every time I go. I have tried their chicken souvlaki, lamb gyro, greek salad and lemon potatoes. I recently had their lamb gyro which was delicious. The lamb is cooked perfectly, the tzatziki sauce is creamy and goes well with sandwich. The only thing I didn't love was that the tomatoes were cut way too thick for a sandwich and would be better chopped in small chunks. Also thing I didn't love was that the AC wasn't working in such a hot day and we had to sit outside which was not too comfortable since it was hot. My husband ordered the Shish Kabob platter rare . the lovely girl that answered the phone read order back to me and she even stressed "rare". when the order came my husband tried cutting the meat with a steak knife and couldn't even cut it it. he even sharpened the knife. the meat was so well done that it was inedible. My family and I have been eating here for decades. Of course most of the time we order gyros, souvlaki, and other Greek staples. But we have also fallen in love with their cheeseburgers. Like seriously, OMG! You can dine in or order for take out. We usually call ahead and pick up. The wait is never really too long. Maybe 20 minutes at most. I have always like their gyros but my parents are not fans of theirs anymore. If my family votes on cheeseburgers, this is where we order. The staff is never really bubbly but as long as they are not rude, I'm cool. The food is always hot by the time we bring it home and it always tastes great. There are some cons but nothing that is a deal breaker. They do not have their own parking lot and I believe you get towed if you park in the lot a couple doors down. There is a bus stop in front so you cannot park there. Also, there have been some strange incidents when we tried to order and the doors were locked way before closing time, without any notice on the door.
