    Spinach Pie
    Chelsea K.

I just moved to the area and this place has been on my radar from the Yelp reviews. This is a small to-go little bakery that would be easy to pass by. Finally stopped in today for Spinach Pie. I believe it was the owner who was there and he was very nice. The Spinach Pie is absolutely delicious, huge piece and great price. I may try some other pies from here, but for now..Spinach pie is where it's at and I highly, highly recommend stopping in! It's a great spot when you need something quick, easy and affordable. I'll definitely be back.

    So delicious

The spinach pie is the best one I've ever had! You must try this place! Sorry I didn't take a picture of it, I was too busy eating it

    Portokalopita

Outstanding! I was hosting a Greek-themed dinner and called and asked that a full tray of portokalopita be made as well as some bougasta. Both were so fresh and delicious! And the portokalopita was made the proper way with phyllo not flour. It was moist and well-saturated and fragrant with orange. My husband also picked up some spinach pie which was delicious. And everything was so reasonable! We'll definitely be using F&S again. !

I pass by this place everyday to drop my son off from school. It's a small bakery and people are there working before 7am, making the dough. I finally came inside and was greeted by sweet people. I ordered the spinach pie slice and it was fantastic. I also got the kourambiethes and that too was awesome. Their menu is short but that just makes them great at specializing on their select items. Price was good. Parking is on a busy street. Worth going to.

bougatsa.. if you don't know now you know

Run, don't walk to this place and make sure you get a bougatsa before they run out. Cinnamon & sugar on top? YES and YES. My family is addicted to this greek pastry and chances are you will be too. Each time I bring someone a bougatsa from F&S pies their immediate reaction is "where did you get this and how can I get more?!" I am also a huge fan of their spanakopita, tiropitas and the melomakarona cookies. It can be difficult to find spanakopita that my Greek thia approves of but this one got rave reviews. To top it all off the owner is incredibly kind and accommodating; exhibiting a Greek hospitality that is unmatched. Convinced yet? Stop by Monday- Saturday and decide for yourself.

It's relaxed and easy-going, ideal for grabbing a coffee while you're out and about. Food: Their baked goods are the real star here--freshly baked onsite with a professional touch. The flavors are unique, making it a fun stop for something different. While the selection is on the smaller side, each item seems thoughtfully crafted. A few more savory options would be a welcome addition, though! Service: The service is quick and efficient. There's usually just one person behind the counter, but they handle things smoothly and get your order ready in no time. No long waits, which is great for a quick bite. Suggestions: A couple of high chairs would be a nice touch for families with little ones! Also, a few more savory items on the menu would be fantastic to round out the offerings. Overall: Overall, Somedays is a solid go-to for a quick coffee and pastry. It's a pleasant, no-fuss spot with delicious treats, and I'm excited to see what they add next. I was surprised at the weight of the pastry. it was FILLED with the tahini paste. It was a little too sweet for me, but i enjoyed the croissant (super flaky). the pricing is on the higher end of pastries, but the assortment is done well and as described. for reference, a plain croissant there is $5 (same $ as radio bakery) whereas one from Costco is $1. for me, this was a one time try, but it was good to try the excitement for me post hype.

Over the years, as many of those bakers retired, the number of quality bakeries slowly dwindled. One by one, many of the old favorites disappeared. So when Aphrodite's opened, I was eager--and a bit skeptical--to see if it would be worth the trip. Then I tried their mini cheese empanadas, and that settled it. These little sweet treats are unbelievably addictive. I've brought them to gatherings and shared them with friends and family, and without fail they disappear almost instantly. I honestly can't think of another baked item I've purchased that has been so universally loved. Since then, I've started exploring more of their pastries and baked goods, and each visit has been a pleasant surprise. One item seems better than the next. No, the prices are not cheap--but the quality absolutely justifies it. In this case, you really do get what you pay for. If you stop in, do yourself a favor and try the mini cheese empanadas--you'll understand why they've become my go-to order.

I am a fan of the pandan flavor desserts and bought two that I wanted to try. One being a roll cake and the other layer cake. The pandan roll cake with taro I was told is a specialty that they only have on weekends. It was really flavorful, moist and spongy, just perfectly touched with a dash of sweetness in both the cake and the cream - I personally don't like overly sweet foods, and this is just perfect for me and my mom. I'm equally pleased with the layer cake as well it was very fresh and have that "QQ" texture - deliciously chewy and bouncy. This too, just hit right for me on the gentle sweetness, the pandan flavor keeping the spotlight in this dessert. My mom and I are big fans of these desserts. We just came back trying out others pandan layer cakes in Downtown Flushing and this shop beats them by a large margin. I hope to come back more when we could even though this shop is quite a distance for us.

The lady who I assume is the boss said she had held a pop-up shop about two years prior which blew up, hence what we see here. The selection here was deceptively small compared to chain bakeries, but it didn't take us long recognise how much power the smaller selection packs and, actually, how the selection really is not small at all. The matcha red bean loaf grabbed my attention straight away and didn't disappoint, but their red bean bun was just as impressive, as it's a more bread-y counterpart to the fluffy versions other bakeries typically have. The onioissant is definitely experimental and worked better on the chive bacon cream cheese one than on the pollack roe, which was a bit too much on the salty and fishy side for my liking. Their chocolate horn is at least twice as big as a typical one you'll find at other bakeries and has a rich dark chocolate filling which was a pleasant surprise. Their coffee brioche pastry was another hit, thanks to the strong coffee filling and delicate layers of pastry. There's ample tables and chairs, beverage menu, and I'm sure we'd come hang if we lived closer. I can't wait to go back.
