9" Carrot Cake
Kenny S.

I can't say enough great things about the awesome folks at Joe's Sicilian Bakery! Whether it's delicious birthday cakes or freshly made apple, cherry or pecan pies Joe's is my family's go to bakery. The Italian breads and cookies are to die for. If you need a cake for special occasions call them several days in advance and you will be happy you did. During Christmas time, pack a sleeping bag because the line to get into the shop is very long and often wraps around the corner. For this Easter, I ordered not one but two 9" carrot cakes for two separate family gatherings. When it came time for dessert, the biggest lines were for the carrot cakes we ordered from Joe's Sicilian Bakery! Everyone raved about how delicious and moist the cakes were. We faced stiff competition against cakes our family members brought from Mia's in Brooklyn and Dortoni's in East Meadow, but at the end of the night the carrot cakes were gone. Family remembers were forced to take home major pieces of the other cakes. Thanks again Joe's Sicilian Bakery for everything you do for my family!

Rainbow Cookie Cupcake

The Rainbow Cookie Cupcake was the best cupcake I've had in the last few years. I'm a huge cookie cake fan, so I was excited when I saw this in the display. It was just as good as it looked. I got an assortment of cookies, which was addictive and not too dry. I had to stop myself from finishing them all in one go. I also tried a bit of the pizza, which they heated up. It was unexpectedly good for a bakery! This is very much a spot where you're in and out, so there's not any crowding or noise. The staff was very friendly and helpful as my boyfriend and I asked questions about the bakery's offerings. They made nice conversation.

I stopped in on Xmas' eve afternoon and got about 3lbs of mini pastries which took about 45 minutes to get because there were only three people working the counter and people just didn't know what they wanted. Pastries overall tasted good. Don't forget cash only!

A long time local family owned bakery ( since 1975) in the neighborhood. Freshly baked breads and amazing numbers of tasty pastries and dessert. Very friendly staff ( they really have lots of patience) The place is also busy and customers are also polite and wait their turns.

Pignoli cookies

My goto place for good Italian bread and Italian cookies. Fast service. Walk in bakery, don't expect to be able to sit and have coffee. And it's cash only. They have 2 flavors for their rainbow cookies, apricot and raspberry. All these years, I never knew you could choose a flavor. This is the only place in Queens that I can find pignoli cookies these days.

If there is a gem in the neighborhood, this has to be it. The best sun dried tomatoes and prosciutto french bread we've ever had!! I think I finished the entire bread in like.. a day. Amazing desserts.. just ask them for recommendations and they will point you to the right direction!

Cute old school bakery serving classic Italian pastries. The store is small but it carries a lot of the classic Italian breads and cookies for a reasonable price. They also have some out of the box items such as the rainbow cookie donut. It was nice and light and tasted like a Rainbow cookie in donut form. However it is not as rich or large as the one from glaze donuts in jersey. Good neighborhood spot and the cashiers were friendly.

Been coming here for years. They're most known for their Italian cookies and breads. There's always a line for the holidays. The cookies are something like $17/lb. Comes out to more than $1/cookie. Keep that in mind when you're drooling over every single cookie in there. It adds up quick. Don't sleep on the pastries. The cannoli is top notch, so are the rainbow cookies. Best in the area. I think these are also sold by the pound. For cannoli it might be around $4-$5 each for the large ones. Also, they have a decent Sicilian slice. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but if I'm already there..

How do you make your lard bread?

We infuse our dough with natural pork fat, prosciutto, salami, provolone, and mozzarella.

Do you make cartocci? Spelling wrong I'm sure but I hope you can figure out what I mean. Lol

Yes. We carry cartocci :)

Do you offer shipping now?

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, we still do not offer shipping. We are not set up to do that. Our apologies.

Do they make sheet cakes?

Yes we do. Call us during normal business hours, one of our staff will assist you further. 718-225-2272

Would you deliver a pizza to the bayside area, oakland gardens?

NO - They don't deliver. They only deliver to other diners and bakeries

I am looking for the small, crunchy biscuits- similar to breadsticks but more flavorful. They often come with fennel or rosemary. Do you have those?

Joe's has breadsticks and delicious meat breads that are savory. The other crunchy items are more on the cookie line.

Do you carry taralli?

Are you looking for the small, crunchy style biscuits or the soft style lemon drops?

Do you ship?

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, we do not ship at this time. It is something that we are looking into for the future, but as of now we do not.

Do you make Cassata?

We only carry that during the holidays. Not enough demand to make that on a regular basis.

Hello! I grew up around the corner and there was a bread I would always get with my mom. It had cheese and meat/olives in it, do you still make it? What is it called?

Do you carry St. Joseph's pastry and if yes- what price?

Good evening. St.Joseph pastries are usually a seasonal item. We make those in the early Spring from the end of January through Easter. Demand for that specific item is usually very low the rest of the year..… Read more

What's the pricing on premise cookie platters?

Italian cookies are approximately $10.25 per pound on a tray. Butter cookies are approximately $16.75 per pound on a tray. There is a 2 pound minimum for trayed cookies.… Read more

Do you have pre made cookie trays ? Or do I have to order

We prefer to make our trays fresh for our customers. We only carry premade trays around the holidays. Call us early the day of or the day before to place your order.

Do you guys do rainbow cookie cakes and if so how much?

Yes, we do. Pricing all depends on what size you order. Please call the store during the week and speak to our staff. We will be more than happy to provide pricing. :)

Can we get just like one individual Italian cookie? I don't want to get the cookies by pound. I might buy just like 7 or 8 lol :)

Of course! You can get as little or as much as you like. All we do is put it on the scale and weigh it. You only pay for what you ask for. :)

The tables are close enough and small enough to hear what your neighbors are saying to each other, imagine what they think of you? LOL I noticed speaker music was playing a bit louder then the last time I was there. The fact that patrons have to shout over each other while sharing speaker music doesn't help with the ambience of enjoying a delicious cake over an interesting conversation. I ordered something new this time, a delicious lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Why didn't I see that description on my check? Strange. I also visited their website online, and noticed a lot of Stock Ai made photos and videos. I even found the website hard to navigate as well because it wasn't loaded with actual cakes and up to date pricing. So quite honestly the online website wasn't helpful with what they had in the shop. * Perhaps a future improvement between tables might be an above head moveable divider which actually could provide some privacy. There are plenty of 2 topper café tables, but if you have a bigger party, they will park a bunch of them together for you, if it's not too busy. If you get here before 8pm, tables are readily available, but it can get crowded as the evening progresses. We were surprised recently, when they sat 6 of us with no wait. They are open before the crack of dawn at 6am until 1am on Friday & Saturday nights. I imagine that the ovens never cool off and the bakers are there on the overnight shift to bake plenty of cakes ready for the next day. It's not unusual to still have a line to order out at 10-11pm and the display cases are still packed with cakes & pies.
