We got a creamy red velvet cheesecake, a mini raspberry crumb cake how many key lime pie, a mini pineapple cheesecake and I just feel like I'm missing something else. While waiting the worker even gave my daughter a chocolate chip cookie. There was honestly not one item we didn't enjoy. We even got somebody else a black and white cookie and a cannoli. My first time here, my cousin told me I had to try their "Crumb Bun", which is a cinnamon crumb cake with powdered sugar. I ordered one to go, along with a mini blueberry cheesecake. The Crumb Bun is so delicious, and buttery, and it almost melts in your mouth. The cinnamon crumbs on top are complimented by a beautiful buttery cake on the bottom of it, and every bite is heavenly. The cheesecake was not overly sweet, while not as fluffy as other reviewers stated, it was still very smooth. You Def taste the cheese in the cheesecake. We also got the crumbcake. When I moved to Whitestone over a year ago, La Cheesecake was at the top of my 'to try' list. It took SO long for me to get there (trying to eat healthy and such), but it was worth the wait. The employees here are very friendly and it just feels like an old school NY place where everyone knows everyone. I came for the Rainbow Cookie bars for a Christmas Eve and Christmas gathering and they did not disappoint. I love them, and everyone who has tried them loves them too. I grew up with denser rainbow cookies (RIP Mr. Cookie), but these are more light and fluffy. I love them both; I just haven't found a rainbow cookie I love since Mr. Cookie closed. These have the traditional marzipan taste and are extremely fresh. Not too sweet, no artificial flavors like a lot of rainbow cookies have. Just light perfection. And the chocolate is fantastic too. They aren't cheap but to be fair the prices of cream cheese and eggs over the past 2-3 years has skyrocketed, so I do understand the price. There is a small selection of other bakery treats there but I haven't yet tried anything else except for the Linzer tart and that too was very good. If you do decide to visit the store, make sure you call ahead to see if they are open because they are closed a few days a week. Went to La Cheesecake for the first time because I heard that they made the best rainbow cookies. They are my grandson's favorite and since he was turning 5, I thought I'd bring some to the party and surprise him. I didn't know that they are made into bars that you cut and serve. Afraid I'd make a mess of things, I asked at the bakery if they could cut them. No problem! They offered to cut, plate, and wrap 3 bars. In addition I ordered butter cookies which they also plated and wrapped. Make no mistake! Although the cookies look like all those cookies that are packaged and sold in supermarkets, they are far from it. They are baked on premises and are scrumptious! Whenever I find a new place I like to try a couple things at a time to see what I like from there, so if I decide to come back I know exactly what to get. I didn't think college point had such a hidden gem. I recently moved into the area and did some strolling around with my baby and smelled something heavenly in the air. I was maybe on the corner and this bakery is halfway up the block and I could smell the aroma from a far. Upon entering this little gem you can see all the pastries on display and this huge kitchen in the background and the way each person operates. Everything is extremely fresh and made in house. The amazing lady in the front works very hard to provide and explain everything and when ordering one of their original cheesecakes you can see how they remove it from its baking tin, almost as if it was a little show. I end up driving by this bakery because i was looking for a place to eat dinner and I stopped when i saw a the sign at the front door for pastries. I bought a box of pastries with mini cheesecake, classic fruit tart, mini lobster tale with Ricotta filling and lemon glazed cookies. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would i go back, probably not. All the pastries tasted very similar, high sugar content, the cheesecake was very soft and too sweet.
