Not too sweet desserts that go well with tea big time. I like their version of the classic sweet topping bun with a filling. The lightly sweet crumbly cookie-like topping on the fluffy bread-like bun filled with red bean paste was pretty good! I noticed that they also had mini mooncakes of various flavors. Be sure to see what you might want to try at the Apollo Bakery if you happen to be in Flushing. The associate at the bakery was tactful and patient when ringing up my order. A small bakery with some unique desserts.

The maroon awning is Apollo Bakery. It's on the same block as Sheraton Hotel. As you can see, it can be easily missed when walking by.

I would definitely go back and get it again another day. The Taro paste is added to the center very generously and the whip cream is nice and light with only a hint of sweetness. On top of this, the bread was not overly heavy and had a nice crunchy top. The service was very quick like any other Chinese bakery. I will be back another day to try more of their items.

We ate them hrs later but surprisingly they were pretty good. I liked the egg tarts. Different than the usual Chinese bakery. The egg tarts were very flakey, more like a French bakery than Chinese. The ham and cheese were flavorful, I only had a bite but I think they used maybe cheddar cheese and hopefully not American. I bought more egg tarts my second visit. Prices were okay.. cheaper than the chain bakeries that are so overpriced that doesn't even taste good. Next time I might try one of their pretty cakes.

Red bean buns are my go to since they're vegan, and this one did not disappoint!! I ordered the matcha red bean bun and it was delicious! The sweetness of the red bean with the earthy flavor of the matcha was divine. You can also tell that these are fresh because of the warmth and fluffiness! Like most Chinese bakeries, you have tongs and a tray, and pick your own pastries. The checkout went quick since it wasn't too busy. The staff seemed knowledgeable and helpful to the patrons that needed assistance. The layout is cute and convenient. There isn't seating, but there is a countertop by the window that you can eat at. Overall, I really love this bakery and look forward to returning!

It can get packed and busy in here so it's really more of a grab and go type of bakery.

A quick 30 sec in the microwave is all you need. Sometimes, I'll have a ham & egg or a 4 petal hot dog & bacon bun for variety. If I'm feeling the sweet tooth, a pineapple, egg custard bao or tart is the way to go.

For the filling, you get to choose 2 or 3 fillings, but we got 2 fillings to try out. We got the mango pomelo & strawberry with rice powder for the dusting. They accept cards unless it's $5 but they do not take discovery cards. Super fresh and not overly sweet, which I was surprised by.
