BonBon Bakery was unfortunately not good at all IMHO. Yes the prices are very cheap and enticing but when you see the quality of what you purchased it becomes clear why it's so cheap & that pertains to everything there. Coffee- watered down, and well unfortunately that obviously makes or break coffee. Pan de bono- just by looking at it you could tell it was subpar to how a pan de bono should be but I decided to try it anyways. Needless to say, it was as dry as it looked. Cod soup- easily the only item that was actually not bad. Had enough cod and the broth was nice. Green Juice- as you can see indicated in the picture it was not mixed properly and honestly did not taste the way it should be and I doubt it had the ingredients it said it had listed. All in all, BonBon was unfortunately a let down but it is what it is. read more

A great local Spanish Bakery in Fresh Meadows specializing in custom cakes, baked breads and many varieties of desserts. They sell flan, dulche de leche cakes, cookies by the pound, filled croissants, cupcakes and brownies too. This was my first time here and a tasty discovery indeed. I found it based on an online search for custom cakes. I ordered a custom cake from here for my hubby's big birthday and I wanted to get something different. We have had plenty of local desserts and a variety of fillings but this was appealing even more so, since I had an image on mind. Custom was the only way to go! There are a wide variety of cake flavors and fillings to choose from. I had emailed the baker back and forth with suggested photos and a pic of the cake topper so the colors would match. Everything was executed as requested. The cake was so moist and unique from everything we've had before so this was so satisfying. I'd love to return to try the Dulce de leche, since it's their signature dessert. And I'd want to get some flan next visit. Can't resist a great dessert spot. read more

We love supporting small businesses especially when they're in the neighborhood. For about 2-3 weeks straight, my husband and I went to BonBon Bakery once or twice a week to try this bakery out. We tried everything from their bubble teas to their breakfast sandwiches. All were pretty good!! I was especially skeptical to try the bubble teas but it was a lot better than I expected! The young lady at the front is always super nice. The man that's always there though - I feel he could be a little nicer. Try this place out. Try their pan de bonos. I'm so happy this place opened up in our neighborhood. I've been a loyal customer since they opened. The staff is so amazingly nice, they're very sweet to my kids too. I get a decaf iced vanilla latte every time I go. They offer many different types of coffees. Their empanadas are delicious and homemade. Very filling. I get a few to bring home because they sell out quick. The ham and cheese one is my favorite. Even the tuna and the spinach ones are great. They also have yummy sandwiches for lunch. Their baked goods are even more delicious. Everything from their apple sticks to the Oreo and dulce de leche cups. My 2 year old loves their homemade churros. What a pleasant surprise. My family and I were getting ready for the Uruguay Colombia Copa America match and wanted to try something new. Staff is lovely and polite, and the well presented offerings are fresh. The empanadas were baked and hence not impregnated in oil. Saw on Yelp that a new bakery opened up so made a pit stop on the way home to pick up some items. I picked up 4 items to try. Small strawberry cake, sweet croissant, guava croissant and a small guava pie. First thing I notice is that there desserts are not too sweet. I love that since I usually find most store brought desserts are way too sweet. The $1.00 sweet croissant was delicious. My daughter and I ate it before I took remember to take a picture. It was very crunchy with just the right amount of sugar crust on top. The guava croissant was also really good. The only was I found the guava filling too thick and gelatinous. It would of been perfect if it was more like preserves consistency. The strawberry cake was good too. It was a chocolate cake with strawberry filling. Hubby had the guava pie and his first comment was also it was not too sweet. We will have to come in the morning to try the breakfast and other items items like the empanadas! read more

I love this place, and am so glad a place like this has taken residence in my neighborhood! Everything here looks and smells amazing! The empanadas are all great. They have chicken, beef, spinach, and cheese, and all filled the perfect amount. They also have a spinach and feta tart which is pretty good too. The churros are a little pricey, but are absolutely delicious. They have cakes and cookies that I have not tried yet. This bakery is really hit-or-miss. The lady who works at the counter with the warm smile is nice and the empanadas are tasty. However, this time when I came in, the cupcake that I chose for my 2-year-old tasted artificial and store-bought; the pink dye on the frosting got everywhere. Not great ingredients that I would feel comfortable feeding my toddler again. I got the tres leches cake for me which was good (not great), but the bread pudding slice I was curious to buy was hard and seemed a little old. (I've had great bread pudding before; this was barely edible.) I would like for the bakers here to have a better turn-around of their products. That is, even if they don't sell out of their products from one day to the next, to continue making sure what they're putting out is fresh. Or else, this bakery runs the risk of a few customers too many that don't return. read more

I was able to go have lunch with the family over to this new bakery. I sampled the beef empanadas @$2.50 each they are very tasty, lots of beef, they are baked and 2 of those babies can be had for a very nice lunch. This brings me to the sauce, i had the green sauce and the orange sauce. The green sauce actually took away from the beef flavor of my empanada, the sauce also lacked acidity. Most chimichuri sauces have cilantro as a base and some type of vinegar just to strike a balance. The Orange sauce: while is supposed to be the spicy sauce. In my opinion the spice was completely absent. I would tell you skip the sauce and go right to work with the empanada of your choice. (Beef, chicken, spinach) the chicken soup was extremely tasty small $5, large $6, after tasting how good the soup was, i should have gotten the Large container but that will be for the next time. Today's special was beef stew and yellow rice, let me just tell you that the person in charge of the kitchen puts a lotta love into the food. The sauce was loaded with onions, peppers and the beef was very well seasoned over the yellow rice $7.50. We also order a churro $1, let me just say that it was one of the best churros i ever had. Baked, lightly dosed with sugar and it has a nice crunch. Had it with black coffee and i also tried their version if a croissant stick which was an excellent choice for a afternoon snack. Overall a great find. Small place so seating is very limited to 3 tables and 8 chairs. I am going to have to make room to come back to try the cakes. read more

Ordered a 6" smash cake for my nephew that is vanilla with white and gray gradient icing for a photoshoot (banner not included). After all the smashing, we ate what was left of it and the cake was really good! It has custard in between layers and the icing itself is not too sweet. They opened about two months ago and I'm really glad they did! I also love the sweet croissant and dulce de leche croissant! To add, the guy at the front is really nice and helpful.
