I have to say that my first visit to Neil's Natural Market was a success. I was a 2 decade customer of Health Nuts which was located in Bay Terrace, Bayside, NY. Right around when Covid hit, Health Nuts closed it's doors for good and the community was devastated (I truly was). Since then I haven't found a local shop like that at all. Then fast-forward to last week, I went in search of Sea Moss. I was looking for raw, unprocessed sea moss, and when I did a search, his shop came up. Excitedly, I took the ride to Neil's (10 minutes from where I am in Bayside). This unassuming little shop packs a big punch. He did not have the raw, unprocessed sea moss, but did in fact have the already processed ones. The jars are labeled with dates and refrigerated. There are quite a few fridge's filled with fresh foods and drinks, as well as shelves stocked with whatever you could possibly need or want. If you don't find it, and he doesn't have it, Neil will help you get it! I wish I would've taken photos, but was too busy having a super pleasant conversation with Neil. From being there only a short time, it's quite obvious he has regular customers who have been shopping there for years, and it's also quite obvious that he treats both his longtime customers, and newbies who just walked through the door for the first time - exactly the same. Warm, friendly and makes you feel very comfortable asking questions, as his knowledge is amazing. **** Side note: Neil suffered a stroke last year, and thankfully he has made an amazing recovery and is doing well. I went to this health food store the other day,it's a 2 story store and I asked one of the clerks to show me the way to an item I was interested in,and all I got was a grunt and a point and thats that... Fast forward to my time at Neils Natural Market,what a difference a few days make......The store isn't 2 floors and the store doesn't employ lots of employee's.Just Neil the owner who is there by himself from opening to closing.... You ask Neil where something is and Neil will take you where that item is.... It's the big companies that with their massive size are closing the Mom & Pop stores. Neil told me he always lived in the area when he opened his store 15 years ago.... I think its the customer attention that keeps people coming back year after year... added to that there's always a 30% discount on ALL VITAMINS. I for one will be back to this store many many many more times a very Pleasant experience. And yes Neil does have a variety of knowledge on many different subjects.... My son is a customer at Neil's and he buys for me whatever I need. If Neil has doubts or questions regarding to what I'm looking for he will call me to discuss. Neil will make suggestions according to what's beneficial to me. Will lose a sale if it's not beneficial. If something is not in stock or he doesn't carry an item Neil usually will order it. I've had Niel's bookmarked for like 3 months now. I finally decided to stop in this evening and inquire about a few natural/healthy items I needed. I walked in and was greeted with a smile by Neil (I recognized him from all the Yelp photos lol). I informed him I was looking for unrefined coconut oil and aluminum free deodorant; He lead me in the right direction. Neil was extremely friendly and helpful, he also gave me some additional info about certain brands which I appreciated. The price point is a bit higher than Trader Joes but it is a small business, so it's expected. I was also able to find Organic Black Bean spaghetti, which by the way went perfectly with the Organic tomato and basil pasta sauce I also purchased here. Neil's isn't that large, but considering the size there's a great selection. He carries lots of vegan items, including a few brands of mock cheese, meat substitutes, loads of veggie burgers and numerous vegan ice creams. Neil is also happy to order almost anything for you that he doesn't have in stock. He's also really knowledgeable in general. Society would be a much nicer place if we had more small businesses like Neil's. The prices are usually comparable to larger health food stores, but I'd much rather shop here because it's such a wonderful store. I'd give Neil's 6 stars if it were possible. read more

I shop here frequently for organic goods. This place is perfect if you have a specific diet or just need to pick up one or two items. I absolutely love this place. I've been shopping at Neil's naturals for over five years now. Neil is possibly the nicest store owner I've ever met. He greets every single person who walks thru his door with a smile and a warm hello. He goes out of his way for everyone. Several times I was looking for things he didn't carry and he offered to order them for me, which he did (for cheaper than amazon). He's an encyclopedic himself. He's very knowledgeable about everything and anything you might need. I've never asked him about a product that he wasn't aware of. But that doesn't matter because Neil is there if ever you are in need of extra asistance. Neil's carries popular organic brands like SoDelicious and Silk as well as some lesser known product like Raw Revolution, Dagoba, etc. The supplements, pills, are discounted at 20% whatever the price sticker suggests and the powders are discounted at 10% off the list price. In summary, Neil's has packaged organic teas, frozen foods, cold drinks, snack bars, shampoo, soap, cookies, and a ton of gluten free foods. It has just about everything that anyone might need from organic flax seeds to vegan cheese to natural face/body/hair products in a completely organized chaotic setup that makes sense to Neil. I mean Its what Whole Foods would become if you took out their non-organic inventory and hired a tazmanian devil to stock the shelves.... At first I wandered around the aisles just ogling at everything but now I just ask Neil since he knows the what, how, and why of all the products he sells as well as where he put them which makes my shopping easy and quick. With regards to pricing... I would say that his prices are Fantastic! with some, great with most, and What a ripoff!! with a very selected few (the Asian food - I mean, ppl c'mon! you live in Flushing!!
