They have a hot foods section - brown rice with veg (peas/carrot) and 4 options of sides will bring you to $12. I opted for their special of 2 lunch orders to get a free large soup (16oz). To order, order at the counter, pay at the cashier, and bring back your receipt to collect your food. The food is mildly seasoned and not super oily which I love - I def go home to add hot sauce/red chili flakes at home though. After I got the food I walked around the store to look around. Not sure about the fresh produce, but the dairy section is sooo pricy compared to what I'm used to at Trader Joe's for things like organic milk or non-dairy yogurt. Right around when Covid hit, Health Nuts closed it's doors for good and the community was devastated (I truly was). Since then I haven't found a local shop like that at all. Then fast-forward to last week, I went in search of Sea Moss. I was looking for raw, unprocessed sea moss, and when I did a search, his shop came up. Excitedly, I took the ride to Neil's (10 minutes from where I am in Bayside). This unassuming little shop packs a big punch. He did not have the raw, unprocessed sea moss, but did in fact have the already processed ones. The jars are labeled with dates and refrigerated. There are quite a few fridge's filled with fresh foods and drinks, as well as shelves stocked with whatever you could possibly need or want. If you don't find it, and he doesn't have it, Neil will help you get it! I wish I would've taken photos, but was too busy having a super pleasant conversation with Neil. From being there only a short time, it's quite obvious he has regular customers who have been shopping there for years, and it's also quite obvious that he treats both his longtime customers, and newbies who just walked through the door for the first time - exactly the same. Warm, friendly and makes you feel very comfortable asking questions, as his knowledge is amazing. **** Side note: Neil suffered a stroke last year, and thankfully he has made an amazing recovery and is doing well. NY Tung Ren Tang is a mid sized Chinese Herbal Store in bustling Flushing. It's stocked full of products such as face-wash, soaps, candies, dried fruits, teas, medicine and of course, the Chinese "cure all" - Ginseng. Black sesame seed nut candies were displayed in plastic boxed shelves at $3.49 a pound and I stopped in my tracks- I had to buy some. Amazingly, the smell of rose and jasmine wafted by, from a neighboring plastic box shelf and immediately reminded me of my poa poa. As I peered in, I realized that it was filled with Bee & Flower company soaps (traditional Chinese soap from the old generation) and I became so nostalgic that I knew that I had to buy a bunch. I bought the Jasmine, Rose and Sandlewood. My poa poa used the Rose for herself and Jasmine to wash me when I was a child. The beauty of these soaps are that they're incredibly fragrant and long lasting (even though they are a tad smaller, compared to regular Western bars). I was glad to see that they were 80 cents per bar, even though you can buy them at 45- 50 cents a bar in other Chinese shops if you looked hard enough. To me, this was a good enough deal, especially since it brought back such wonderful memories of my grandmother and doubles as a perfume after usage. When I paid for the items, the nice woman at the counter smiled and commented, "Fragrant isn't it? One never forgets... " No... one never does.

He continued yelling at me at that point he was very Hostile as if he was going to physically touch me coming towards me another gentleman that works there had to hold him back which was very uncomfortable and a bit ghetto for me. I thought, as if I was dealing with someone in the street and not in a business establishment I was calm at first, but as he kept going and disrespecting me in front of people, that's when I felt a little bit threatened by the situation. All I was gonna do was return that one thing literally that one thing but because again he was so unprofessional and very nasty I decided i no longer wanted his service so I returned everything I guess he did not like the fact I tried to explain to him what he gave me was not what I asked for or it was not the actual pure product so at that point again that's why I feel he was very angry.which make no sense to me if a customer is there saying they no longer want to purchase something that should not be a issue and let me make this clear that is the 1st time I ever did or ask them to do that He than proceeded to tell me that I wasted his time which again was not cool to say to a customer you are there to help he seemed annoyed when I was asking questions or asking about prices. I just wanted to make sure that I had enough for what I was getting because I was getting more things than the usual Let's make this clear again whenever a customer comes into a business establishment trying to make a purchase and spends money it should never be a waste of time that's your job to sell things. You should be happy. that's the second time that I went to that location and something was different. If you ask for dandelion root that's what you should be given when I asked the other gentleman his name at the end he didn't give me his name. He then proceeds to pull a little tag off wall and says that's his name which did not seem correct to me but at that point I just said OK And left I recorded the whole encounter so that's fine

He ordered me to just touch it, do not hold strongly. When I did, just touch it, of course, it did not move the scale. He told me, "look at that,You don't have any energy. your body and heart destroyed......"I felt sounded like I am dying. But I knew I am not...... I told him that I wanted him show me how to hold. When he did it, He did not just touch it. The scale moved very fast. I said I will try again. He told me same thing. "Don't hold it, just touch it" almost he screamed to me. I held the electrode just he did same way and scale moved VERY VERY FAST!!!!! He couldn't say anything. It was his secret business. Anyway. I made a 2nd appointment for the coming Friday. He said "pick up the Korean herb this Friday" he didn't ask me, he ordered me to pick up. I did purchase a Korean herb from twice when I was recovering from my car accident. The price was $450 each time. But this time I was concerned about the Korean herb would affect my kidney. So I asked if I could order next week? I thought I wanted to consult with my doctor before I took the herb. He started screaming at me "DON'T COME HERE ANY MORE!!!! I CAN'T TREAT YOU ANY MORE!!!! YOU DON'T TRUST ME!!!!!" (#1) As a specialty shengjian bao (生煎包) spot, it brings one of Shanghai's most coveted street foods to Chinese food novices and enthusiasts all throughout NYC. The name Liu Liu (六六) is a nod to "66" which serves as a clever word play on two potential cultural references: the popular Chinese idiom "六六大顺" (may everything go smoothly) and the traditional Shanghainese/Jiangnan birthday celebration (六六寿). It's most likely the play on words for seamless business and good fortune, paired with a cool logo featuring the Chinese hand gesture for "6" which resembles the western "hang loose" sign. On weekends, there is almost always a wait during peak hours. Anyone looking to avoid crowds should consider weekday off hours, though even then, a line can form. The stall located in the corner neighboring Xian Cuisines (#3), which likely benefits from the massive crowds gathering here daily. The hype is real. Their self-coined "pan buns" are fabulous, filled with rich, juicy pork and a nicely crispy bottom. There are noodle soup combos that also include curry beef vermicelli soup (咖喱牛肉粉丝汤) and the traditional single tier (?) soup (单档汤) and the classic double-tier soup (双档汤).
