I finally stopped in and checked out The Healthy Kitchen. Originally came across THK on Uber Eats. While in the area one Saturday morning , I decided to place an order for pick-up. Once alerted that my order was ready, I pulled up and grabbed a metered spot right in front. As I entered, the shop it was empty but the staff was busy working on online orders in the open kitchen. Seating is available at a couple tables and counter top. I grabbed a seat as I waited because my order wasn't actually complete. Staff was pleasant but clearly behind on orders. Once completed I grabbed my order and headed out. I went with the #5. Breezin- strawberry, pineapple, peach, w/ orange juice base and I added banana. Overall a local spot offering healthy options on the go. My love and I came here looking for a healthy afternoon meal. This small eatery is apparently known for its wraps and juices, so we gave them a try. For drinks, I had the Legally Blonde with oranges, lemon, pineapple, and ginger root. It tasted healthy and not too sweet. I personally wished I tasted more ginger in it. She had the Crush with apple, lemon, orange, peach, pineapple, and a ginger shot. Hers had the ginger and flavors mine was lacking. I went with the Captain Jack wrap with an impossible burger as the protein, vegan mozzarella, sweet potato french fries, lettuce, and bbq sauce. This wrap blew my mind. As soon as I pulled it apart the cheese just stretched across both wraps. As the name implies, the food is on the healthier side with whole wheat choices, low-fat cheese, cauliflower crust pizza, smoothies, acai bowls, salads, sandwiches, wraps, keto and vegan options. We came between the hours of 2-4 and apparently they have happy wrap hour where it's $5 (excluding steak and a few others). They have an interesting variety of foods and wraps along with juices in their fridges. However my biggest concern was it took us 40 mins to get our food after ordering IN PERSON! It was supposed to be a quick grab and go. There were only 2 people working (whom were very nice). We ordered 2"3 wraps: the spring, the New Mexico, and the Hawaiian and then an order of Brussels sprouts and asparagus. My favorite thing about the whole thing was the blackberry bbq i brought on the side. The wraps were cold by time we got them and it was hard. The wraps are definitely premade dough. First time ordering here for delivery, and I'm very satisfied. The food I ordered is very healthy, tastes clean, not super greasy at all like in some places. I ordered a Cali wrap, they did forget the wrap but it was probably better without it anyway. The avocado was fresh, the chicken was fresh and the other vegetables I added. They also gave an ample amount of protein (chicken). I also got a 2 for 1 deal from Uber eats which was a plus lol. I definitely will be ordering from this restaurant again. I was looking to grab some lunch today, so I was scrolling through my Yelp bookmarks and remembered that I had flagged Better Gourmet Health Kitchen a while back since it looked good. I didn't want anything heavy and after scrolling the menu this place looked perfect. My brother was about to go grab some pizza on his own but I managed to have him order with me *and* come with me on a walk to go pick it up - my big brother manipulation was on point. Located on the corner of Morris Park Ave and Williamsbridge Rd, Better Gourmet serves a variety of salads, wraps, burgers, smoothies, and sandwiches with a healthy twist. They have four locations in Staten Island and this one location in the Bronx. They advertise themselves as serving the foods people love but prepared in a healthier way. Looking at the menu, I can totally see that - they had a nice selection of almost everything. I called ahead to order, they told me 20 minutes which was the perfect walking time for me to get there. I went with the tex mex salad - this had lettuce, chicken, corn, guac, black beans, and cheese with light ranch dressing served on the side. The salad was a yes - it was way bigger than I expected which was a nice surprise and it tasted super fresh. I'm glad this place opened in the neighborhood. It's a wrap, this place is great! Been here a few times and although they have a decent menu, I've only ordered wraps from here - all of which are good, fresh, healthy, and filling. The Hail Caesars wrap is probably my favorite and is basically a wrap form of the salad. The Texas Hold Em and Popeye's are other favorites. I do intend on trying more when I come back to the area. I've had take out and ate in. There is a decent amount of seating as far as both table and lone eaters on a stool. If you order in, they bring it to your table and add a free slice of watermelon. The drink selection is on the weaker side (I like large drink selections because that's the way I am), but most options are healthier. The staff have always been friendly. The manager was very nasty and unprofessional. He was talking about a new hire right in front of me. My order was all wrong. I ordered a smoothie with peanut butter and banana. It tasted like a cup of milk with ice when I called back to tell them what happened, he basically gave me no resolution but got nasty with me and I told him I heard your whole conversation. You shouldn't talk in front of customers about another employee that doesn't know what he's doing and the new employee is the one that made my order to go. I did use a coupon on it but I still spent $23 and he said I should be happy. I was allowed to use a Groupon and I got my moneys worth now you gave me 3 cups of ice with water basically!!! Cute and casual, I stumbled upon The Healthy Kitchen when I was in the Bronx and looking for healthy vegan options. I found it at this cute little place. I recommend the V wrap and lentil soup. Wraps come with a side of melon. They have a lot of smoothie options but I only tried the Barista smoothie and it had too much sugar for me. Service is friendly. Prices are fair. They make all the food fresh so I don't mind the wait time which is usually around 15 minutes. I don't know what they put in their hummus but the flavor and texture is on the money. My hearts says "eat greasy fries and a cheesy pizza" but my jeans say "for god sakes women eat a healthy wrap" That's been my mission finding healthy eatery around my neighborhood. Gladly I found another place 4miles away, I was going to call for delivery but I decided to go in and have a look around. Came in and was greeted by this nice gentlemen Pats! Very friendly and seemed like he had a nice sense of humor, everythings like the tables counter and behind the counter looked very clean. Don't blink while driving because you might miss this place. It is located next to an animal hospital and offers not only takeout options but also a dine in area. I see what they are trying to do here. A healthy spot that has smoothies and delicious salads that won't add time to your treadmill workout. I like the concept so we came to try. I ordered a salad with a bunch of different ingredients. The only base option for the salads is a mixed green. They don't have kale, spinach, or anything else. The salad was ok but everything was cold. That is not a terrible thing but eating ice cold veggies gets redundant. Nothing popped with flavor. Seemed like it was pre-cut and that is never good. As for the juices and smoothies, they don't have many green options. They have the fruit selections but need more green options. It would help expand the customer base. We also tried the hummus which the guy said was homemade. It is definitely homemade but the recipe needs some work. It was the texture of play-dough and had no seasoning. It was probably healthy but it needed a kick of seasoning. Back to the drawing board on this one. Overall, I do like what they are doing here. They are bringing a healthy lunch option to the area. Just had lunch at the the Healthy Kitchen I really enjoyed the hot food I had which was the Alfredo with a cheesy white sauce and my protein was grilled chicken with a protein pasta . I had the lunch protein and I ate right inside the restaurant all of it , side note #hungry. This is a great healthy food option for me and it does a brisk takeout business. This place does breakfast, vegetarian options, juices, wrap sandwiches, pizzas, salads and more and they have Keto selections. I will be back since it's close to my workout ‍ spot. Their juices are fresh and big, same for the salads - we built our own and loved them (the large was great for two portions). I ordered a milkshake and the "Protein" wrap which comes with just Chicken and Steak. The wrap was $13 itself which for the size of the wrap was definitely overpriced. Although the taste and texture was enjoyable (not over cooked or dry, good flavor) and for the size of the wrap it was filled nicely but I was it was bigger for $13. When I ordered the milkshake I was asked if I wanted it basically how it was described on the menu and I agreed. However post leaving the store when I looked at my receipt I was charged extra for almond milk which I didn't ask for nor was it brought to my attention by the guy when he rang me up so I ended up paying almost $11 just for the milkshake. I've only ordered delivery once from this restaurant. We got the cajun chicken wrap and the San Diego wrap (chicken + avocado + turkey bacon). The wraps are automatically wrapped in whole wheat tortillas, and literally contain JUST what the description says - any sauces, dressing, lettuce, tomato, onion, whatever incurs an extra charge. One down side (and the reason for 4 stars rather than 5) is that it is not cheap - over $10 for a wrap is pretty pricey. We got two wraps delivered and with 15% tip, it came out to almost $25 for just two wraps. However, both wraps were good (for what it is - healthier food) and filling, and both of us agreed that we would 100% order from here again despite the relatively high price...just not as often as we would if we could get the wraps for like $7-8. If that were the case, we'd probably order from here 3-4 times a week (hehe). Oh, and delivery came before their scheduled time too, which is always great. I got tired of doing my own meal prep so I hunted down a few places to try. I walked into my gym one day and saw brochures for the healthy kitchen. Of course I checked Yelp for reviews to see what the people were saying and then decided to give it a try. I started with just five meals to see if I liked the taste of the meals. I'm extremely picky. There were like two meals that I did not like but overall I enjoyed it. The prices are extremely reasonable. Horrible & slow service. Ordered a salad which was extremely late in delivery - took over 1.5 hours just to receive it. Customer service is even worst. Employees got mad because I called in to check on it. And when I called back 25+ mins later, based on the time they mentioned I would receive it, they became agitated. When I got my delivery, it was given in a brown paper bag, and that's it. When I called the store to tell them, a lady told me to hold, I was on hold for 8 minutes and the store hung up on me.
