Ambiance 10/10 When I first stepped foot into the restaurant, I instantly got this retro vibe. I just love the color of the seating and how comfortable the atmosphere was. Service: 10/10 The employees were very friendly. They were kind and had a nice smile on their face. That is what customers should be looking for when being approached by waiters or waitresses. They were very helpful with the menu option. Food: 10/10 I started with their hot chocolate with whipped cream. Man! It was delicious. The whipped cream, by the way, is optional. It does not automatically come with the hot chocolate. The texture was just right. I picked a good day to drink hot chocolate. I have also ordered their standard Belgian Waffles with a side of sausage. I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed with the quantity of the waffle. They only give you one. Additionally, you'd have to ask for the butter. Butter does not automatically come with the waffles. The syrup is or at least should already be on the table once you're seated. Even though I only got one waffle, it was delicious. Furthermore, you have the option to add whipped cream to the waffles. They will add the whipped cream to the waffles for you. The same can be applied to pancakes. When all is said and done, they will offer you a blow-pop lollipop. Overall 9.5/10 I will be back. I am unsure if they do reservations. George's is a Top Tier Bronx Diner. The only reason it doesn't get five stars it's because the ambiance isn't "amazing"- again it's a diner in the Bronx. But the breakfast is delicious. They will essentially make whatever you want lol. They even have an iced coffee that's for you if you like more sugar in your coffee than coffee. I hope you're reading that as the compliment it's meant to be. And the staff is always nice. They are pretty attentive l, but they get so busy on weekends so you may have to wait a bit. Ultimately, I'm a George's loyalist. If you love Ellie's in ParkChester, it's only because you've never been here. read more

Ambiance is straight up diner no frills bronx style. I ordered the triple decker tuna with lettuce tomato sliced hard boiled eggs in between. It comes with fries but attempting to faint heartedly cut out some fatty foods in my life. So I ordered the steamed vegetables , which consisted of big chucks of sliced carrots a few pieces of broccoli and lastly, the white step-child of Broccoli.... Cauliflower. The veggies tasted like they came straight from the can, they were edible, but tasted like no frills army type canned food. I probably should have added some salt. The service was friendly. The guy at the front counter, primarily a Spanish speaking guy but also spoke English took my order at the counter. One thing; the front is for pickups only. There is a sign above your head at this counter that says that. But if you don't look up..who would know! So, what I think they want is, either sit down and order from a server or go to the counter and pick up pre-ordered food. On a very chilly Christmas Eve, George's wasn't very full. We were sat right away. Because it was 7' outside, we probably shouldn't have chosen the front glassed in dining area, but we were told it was heated. Nope. It was freezing. Our hit coffee started out steaming and pretty quickly became iced coffee. No matter. We kept our jackets on and enjoyed. All 3 of us tried the 2 egg any style breakfast for $7.25. It comes with toast, fries or home fries, bacon sausage or ham, and a little juice. Lots of food! Really friendly service and if it was a little warmer we would've stayed longer. This place is so welcoming, the entire staff is so kind and attentive. I felt like family when I ate here, which was during a very busy time on a Sunday afternoon. I went in expecting to order breakfast, they have an extensive breakfast menu and it all looks delicious. Instead, I was seduced by their more savory lunch and dinner items. I decided on The summer salad and I added chicken to it. It was an amazing salad with greens, blue cheese, apples, dry cranberries, almonds and tomato. The Lipsmacker wrap was super filling and came with such a huge portion of crispy fresh waffle fries that it could easily be split by two people. Was in the area for a basketball showcase for one of my kids and staying in a hotel we were looking for something for breakfast before the event. We came across George's as the Yelp reviews were amazing. I called and placed my order via telephone which was a breeze and the guy on the other end was very pleasant as I could tell they were busy (good sign). My food was ready in the promised time. I found a place to park out front and ran inside to pick it up. The place was clean and the food smelled so amazing. The woman at the register helped me immediately and asked what I ordered and she rang me up and I was out the door. My daughter ordered the Belgium waffle and my goodness she said it was the softest and best tasting waffle she has had. The fruit cup is hands down the freshest fruit cup you can get anywhere! This is a super solid diner in the Westchester Square area. I went here once with some of my friends and had no idea of this diner. It's relatively very financially friendly with a pretty large portion size. The first time I went, I got the Lumberjack ($8-$10) which included two pancakes, two eggs and my choice of ham, sausage or bacon. I opted for the sausage and two halved sausage links came out with my order. I wasn't able to finish my order and took maybe around half of it home. So it's a very good price for the amount of food you get as well. The second time that I went, I knew that the Lumberjack was too much from the previous time that I went so I got the golden pancakes (said 3 pancakes on the menu, but only two came out with the order, but they are very big so it was fine) with sausage links ($7.75) and this time I was almost able to finish, but still had some leftovers. The pancakes are really fluffy and buttery and the sausages are also perfect little breakfast sausages that aren't too dried out despite being cut in half to cook faster. I've only tried the breakfast menu items and only two so far, but I'm interested to try other items and to branch out sometime! read more
