Classic French Toast
Javette M.

The service was amazing. Our waiter was very kind and attentive to us at the table. Thank you for all you did. Appreciate it very much. The ambiance was quite. We went an hour before closing so it was nice. The food I will say that roast pork was so delicious and seasoned very well. The rice was good could have been a little softer. The potato salad was bland it needed some seasoning, if it had it would have tasted so much better. Overall I would go back and try other dishes. I loved that French toast omg delicious.

Thanks for the invite

Very good food and great service. Went here for a 60th birthday and despite the crowd not being what I expected it was still a nice turnout.

Stopped by for brunch with the family. First the service was very good the server she was extremely attentive and very nice. Food a thumbs very good food and and everyone in my party enjoyed there dish. Location decorated very nicely. The only delta was the noise very loud in thw restaurant. Overall very nice experience definitely would go back and reccomend.

Mold on the burger bun.

Came here on Mother's Day. The one positive was the service, the manager and wait staff were very attentive. The negative was the food. Everything was clearly prepackaged frozen food. I got the Dominican burger (the patty was clearly a frozen patty), my son had the chicken nuggets and French fries (the nuggets were also clearly frozen), my mother got the chicken Madeira she said the chicken was overcooked but the flavor was good. I am one who always cuts my burgers in half and I ate the first half and when I started the second half I took one bite and placed it upside down on my plate and that's when I noticed mold on the bottom bun of my burger. My server got the manager immediately. The manager came and she goes these buns are fresh and I respond clearly not. They did take the burger off my bill, but we will definitely not be going back. If you go make sure you check your food and make sure it's safe to eat. I've attached a picture of the mold on the burger.

A surprising gem just a brick toss from the Bruckner. As a driver, patronizing some establishments bring anxiety due to the lack of adequate parking. I was trying to decide if double parking could work or if I could chance a partial hydrant block when we realized they had their own parking lot! SCORE! The "We" wanted a quick girls breakfast we literally had 40 minutes. Not only was our service prompt, the server personable, the food good, the interior is beautiful. I had the Belgian waffle w/ ice cream, fruit and whipped cream w/ a side of bacon. I totally recommend it. Will be coming here again

Coconut French Toast

I'm in the Bronx! I have to admit my friend was telling me a story and I spaced out staring at the interior. It's what I imagine a dining room on a future space ship (think USS Enterprise, Wall-E, or SpaceX) would look like for some reason. Coconut French toast hit the diner breakfast button for me.

Great food. Nice vibe. A Bronx classic. Service is fast. Stays open late so also good for takeout orders if you can't dine in.

So I ordered Pancakes and eggs! My favorite! It was cool.. Service was great. The waitress was nice and attentive.. As far as ambiance, it was pretty chill. Not noisy at all. We benefited from her experience and good taste in guiding us through the menu. She ordered a caesar salad with grilled shrimp that looked divine! I love a good tuna melt and she said the Johnson had a good one- plain, but you can add whatever accoutrements you wish. I stuck with the classic and found it simple and satisfying She recommended one of the other salads (the asian salad) to my mom- with grilled chicken breast or shrimp. My mom's first job waitressing job in highschool was at a greek diner and upon discovering the Johnson Diner is greek, she had to try their Mousaka $21 served with a generous portion of greek salad. My mom enjoyed her Mousaka and said it had the perfect amt of cinnamon and spices- she ate the whole plate- she's usually a "take half home" eater- but said she wished she had ordered the salad as it looked fresh and light- and she felt full after the heavier Mousaka Maybe Mousaka for dinner, salads for lunch and brunch!

Service: 10/10 The employees were very friendly. They were kind and had a nice smile on their face. That is what customers should be looking for when being approached by waiters or waitresses. They were very helpful with the menu option. Food: 10/10 I started with their hot chocolate with whipped cream. Man! It was delicious. The whipped cream, by the way, is optional. It does not automatically come with the hot chocolate. The texture was just right. I picked a good day to drink hot chocolate. I have also ordered their standard Belgian Waffles with a side of sausage. I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed with the quantity of the waffle. They only give you one. Additionally, you'd have to ask for the butter. Butter does not automatically come with the waffles. The syrup is or at least should already be on the table once you're seated. Even though I only got one waffle, it was delicious. Furthermore, you have the option to add whipped cream to the waffles. They will add the whipped cream to the waffles for you. The same can be applied to pancakes. When all is said and done, they will offer you a blow-pop lollipop. Overall 9.5/10 I will be back. I am unsure if they do reservations. It wouldn't be surprising if they did. Their menu options and pricing were reasonable.

Blending…read morethe nostalgia of a classic American diner with Korean and Japanese influences, it's easy to see why this small Chinatown spot has earned such a loyal following. Reservation is highly recommended. After stalking their website a month out for a reservation for six, with no luck. I was able to email the restaurant and got a 4 pm reservation. Despite the steady crowd, the service was warm, efficient, and welcoming. As for the food, everything we ordered was excellent. The famous Honey Butter Pancakes absolutely deserve their reputation. It's light, fluffy, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The Korean wings were crispy with just the right amount of heat and sweetness. The katsu chicken sandwich was crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and incredibly satisfying. Even the tuna melt, a diner classic, was perfectly toasted. Golden Diner proves that comfort food can still surprise you. Great service, an electric atmosphere, and a menu that honors diner traditions while adding its own unique personality. It's easy to understand why people are willing to wait for a table, and it's definitely a place we'll return to on our next visit to New York.

I was seated at the counter, and it was fun watching the cooks prepping dishes. The food here is rich and filling. I highly recommend sharing. *Honey Butter Pancake (with berry compote on the side): This is one of the most decadent sweet dishes I've had. The pancake was incredibly fluffy and moist, soaking up the syrup perfectly. The syrup had a rich honey butter flavor with a hint of saltiness (perfect for a pancake!). This is one of the few things I've eaten that definitely lived up to the hype. *Chinatown Egg & Cheese Sando (with sausage): A very solid breakfast sandwich. The highlight was the sesame scallion milk bun, which was nice and soft, with a subtle sweetness. The sandwich was very filling. Service was fine. The food took a little while to come out. The ambiance is a fun throwback to an old-school New York diner. It's a small space.
