Small cozy diner on Riverdale Ave in the Bronx. Staff is friendly and quick to replenish water and coffee cup. Daily specials (breakfasts lunch & dinners) are posted on a blackboard, and all portions are generously served.

THE ESTABLISHMENT IS JUST PLAIN #######GHETTO!!!! Once upon a time it was AVERAGE today however, it is SUB PAR. They don't get the orders right. When you call back they'll say, call tomorrow I'm on the night SHIFT. Call next day, they tell you the night shift should have handled it. Mgr. Would not come to phone, waitress = to Cardi B. ABSOLUTELY no professionalism WHATSOEVER. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR ENERGY HERE! Here is a pic of a turkey burger, on a toasted bun with swiss cheese...Ghetttttto!

Cute place with nice service. The only diner around Riverdale that's worth coming too! I definitely recommend it.. It had a retro feel to it and the food is great!

Literally just ripped off a piece of the omelette and this is what I see

WAS WAS WAS a great place to eat... but after a change in ownership the once clean diner has quickly fallen into a state of despair :( Don't expect management to care as complaints get a rebuttal of attitude and curt unapologetic responses. June 16th, 11am: Was delivered a veggie omelet with A HAIR WRAPPED UP IN IT ! I didn't order any hair... but management didn't seem to care one bit Quite nasty when you see a scraggly strand of hair with the ROOT still attached Point is the health code sticker "A" they proudly display as a mark of cleanliness is in fact a fat "F" in disguise Don't order ... unless you like hairy food !!

A Reason for Day's Perfection Why is it that the meals we order for ourselves are always so much saltier than the meals we prepare at home? "It is a melancholy truth that even great men have poor...[coffee machines]." Dickens "You will hear the beat of a horse's...[tummy]." Kipling "All great truths begin as...[bacon]." Shaw "Man is the only animal that...[brunches]...or needs to." Twain Maybe the mistake is believing there could exist such a thing as a perfect breakfast, or worse yet hoping it could change the course of your day or life for the better. I've been ordering from Tiny's Diner for years. And "I ain't seen nothin' change." "The [breakfasts of ours] that have gone before [this] cannot steady the unrest of those to follow." From the menu: EGGS FLORENTINE: Two poached eggs with creamy spinach and feta on an English muffin with Hollandaise sauce. Served with home fries or grits. Here is the order to eat this order while wearing your socks inside out for comfort: You eat your first bite with your heart. And you eat the rest with your mouth. No thinking - that comes later. Sip the coffee. Slice the eggs. Scoop the spinach. Munch the hash browns! Yes. "You're the [satiated] man now, dawg!" Okay...truth be told, this food doesn't even taste that good. Conclusion: Having no food in our fridge obliges us to find our food - not always the food that is the tastiest, but the food that can become healthy blood cells and organs. And should we have the wisdom to open our kitchen to this lifestyle, we will find that the wishes we once had to relive our Proustian memories through salty snacks and sugary drinks can do nothing to reverse the arrow of time - the only thing left to say will be I wish I had looked after my health or I wish I had spent my money making memories for loved ones or I wish- Well, most of you are too oblivious to know what your wishes will be, but when I eat my meals - ingredients to provision my hopes and dreams - I realize that the one wish that was granted to me so late in life was the gift of self-discipline...and perhaps one day a healthy homemade Hollandaise sauce.. Be sure to eat [more fruits and veggies]. Credit: Finding Forrester (2000)

We benefited from her experience and good taste in guiding us through the menu. She ordered a caesar salad with grilled shrimp that looked divine! I love a good tuna melt and she said the Johnson had a good one- plain, but you can add whatever accoutrements you wish. I stuck with the classic and found it simple and satisfying She recommended one of the other salads (the asian salad) to my mom- with grilled chicken breast or shrimp. My mom's first job waitressing job in highschool was at a greek diner and upon discovering the Johnson Diner is greek, she had to try their Mousaka $21 served with a generous portion of greek salad. My mom enjoyed her Mousaka and said it had the perfect amt of cinnamon and spices- she ate the whole plate- she's usually a "take half home" eater- but said she wished she had ordered the salad as it looked fresh and light- and she felt full after the heavier Mousaka Maybe Mousaka for dinner, salads for lunch and brunch!

The menu was varied and large. My husband got the Chicken Pot pie special, I got the Chicken Shish Kebab. Both were delicious. Nicely done and seasoned. The diner has some outdoor seating but the majority of the tables are inside. Large TVs around the dining room allow for people to watch shows while dining. The prices were reasonable and the service and flavors were excellent. Definitely a recommended place in Riverdale.

Service: 10/10 The employees were very friendly. They were kind and had a nice smile on their face. That is what customers should be looking for when being approached by waiters or waitresses. They were very helpful with the menu option. Food: 10/10 I started with their hot chocolate with whipped cream. Man! It was delicious. The whipped cream, by the way, is optional. It does not automatically come with the hot chocolate. The texture was just right. I picked a good day to drink hot chocolate. I have also ordered their standard Belgian Waffles with a side of sausage. I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed with the quantity of the waffle. They only give you one. Additionally, you'd have to ask for the butter. Butter does not automatically come with the waffles. The syrup is or at least should already be on the table once you're seated. Even though I only got one waffle, it was delicious. Furthermore, you have the option to add whipped cream to the waffles. They will add the whipped cream to the waffles for you. The same can be applied to pancakes. When all is said and done, they will offer you a blow-pop lollipop. Overall 9.5/10 I will be back. I am unsure if they do reservations. It wouldn't be surprising if they did. Their menu options and pricing were reasonable.

This place was an amazing find for us. It looks like, and kind of feels like, a diner, but it's so much more. We were super excited to find Latin American cuisine favorites that we love and don't often find near home. I had a Cuban Medianoche sandwich that was served on absolutely excellent bread, with curly fries. My husband, the carnivore, ended up with some kind of multiple meat sandwich that came on the same amazing roll. (Before you think it's weird for me to rave about the ROLL, where we live in central PA, there is no good bread. Just saying!) I also had to get an order of tostones because I love them so much. They came with a garlic sauce that was intense and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. I got the impression that this is a neighborhood joint with lots of regulars. There was lots of chatter and conversation among the people around us. Seriously, if you need food in the Bronx, this place is a great place to eat.
