    Lamb Chops
    Tanesha J.

I saw Fine Food cuisine on Instagram about a year ago and been wanting to stop by and this weekend I had the opportunity to do so. I know they specialize in catering and wasn't sure if it was an actual restaurant but it's not a sit down restaurant. They have a very small seating area and I personally would not have felt comfortable eating inside. It's more like a waiting area. The food is good enough for them to expand to an actual restaurant and hope the owner considers that in the future. It's a black owned business and the owner/chef was there at the location when I ordered my food. Staff was efficient and my food was ready pretty quickly. My lamb chops were cooked to perfection, the rice was lovely and the asparagus was nice and crispy. I ordered a side of lobster mac & cheese and was a little disappointed in the fact that it was just noodles with a lobster sauce over it. There was no cheese. It was a little salty but flavorful. Despite this weird rendition of Mac & cheese, it was still pretty good. I would order from here again. Ig:@soooomuchfun

My friend recommended me this place and today I went to check it out with ny family. The waiters were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant wasn't very busy just some online orders here and there, but our wait for the food wasn't very long, probably 10-15 minutes. We got chicken, mozzarella sticks, and fries as a starter. It was seasoned well, flavourful and crunchy. Starters are split between everybody at the table unless you get multiple. Then we got Alfredo, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and stuffed chicken (spinach, rice, and cheese inside), As a Entrée. It was delicious and filling. The ambiance was great. It set the mood of a cafe, almost, comforting and cozy.

My fave dish here is def penne alla vodka but they have a bunch of options. This spot has been around for a while but I just recently started ordering food to go. Fine Food has reasonable prices and fairly fast with getting the food ready.

Wow never woulda expected to find this level of fine dining and cooking technique here. I would definately make the trip out this way to experience this food. We were lucky enough to have the owner cook our meals mid day on a sunday. Exceptional skills and flavor profiles. Portions are almost big enough to share. I got the jerk chicken with asparagus and broccoli. Everything perfectly cooked and seasoned. This is a one or a kind jerk chicken. Not an over the top allspice but more of a well rounded seasoning with a gravy style sauce. Medium heat but might be considered hot for some. The veggies were melt in your mouth and not over buttered. My wife got the paella and it didn't disappoint. All the seafood was cooked perfect and buttery rice well seasoned. Not too spicy. Lots of extra tidbits in the dish like corn, peppers, and green beans.

I wish the mac n cheese was a tad bit better. HOWEVER, the lamb chops are hands down the best in the city. The mashed potatoes were so soft n savory. I can't wait to visit again. I wish there were more located throughout the city so if they're looking to expand I'll be a happy customer! Not to mention their wait time was not long at all and even if it was it's WELL WORTH THE WAIT.

Morris Park has its fill of eateries. From many Italian family-owned to a few big chain kinds. Then there's Fine Food Cuisine- a little known spot (at least to me it is), off White Plains Rd. This place is freaking small. No. Wait. I'm serious. I'm not kidding. But they make good use of a counter and stools to the left and several tables around. Noticed the Owner/Chef's funky eye for hooking his place up with a dash of style. Quite honestly, if it weren't for the Chandeliers, Fine Food Cuisine would look drab. So on paper, I was very impressed with the huge menu of Seafood, Vegetarian, Chicken, Beef Dishes oh, and pork. There are Salads, a Paella even freaking, Lobster Mac & Cheese featured also. I'm curious and I want that! Hospitality was definitely there. Steven was very accommodating the entire time at the front of the house. Had my sights on a few seafood items, but were all out. However, Mozzarella Sticks were a nice gooey Starter and my Fish Tacos (w/my request of no sour cream) were decent on fresh tasting, Corn Tortillas. According to My Mom, her Steak Sandwich was good piled with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and Chipotle Mayo. I was bopping to a Flat screen showing Miguel's music videos then music shifted to 1960's Chicano Rock that was good to hear also. Fine Food may look dreary, yet the food my Mom and I had was anything but. I like how the Chef/Owner brings a mixed menu and steps out of the box. I want it to be on my list of favorites!

While I had heard mixed things about Dakota's, I wanted to check it out for myself. I had been meaning to catch up with some of my IRL Yelp friends, and thought this would be a great place to meet up - so off we went. Dakota's is located right on the water in Throgg's Neck and provides great views of the marina. The dining area is separated into a front room, bar area, back room, outdoor patio, and a biergarten area. The decor and aesthetics have a nautical vibe - think blues, greys, and whites with lots of clean lines. One of my friends told me that the menu is relatively new, as they got a new chef ~ 2 weeks ago. The menu isn't large, in fact it's somewhat limited in my view; there are a few apps, mains, and sides - but I would like to have seen an expanded salad selection (there are only two on the menu) and a sandwich section, especially given the aesthetics and the fact that they're open for lunch. We decided to start by sharing some apps and one of their salads: the tuna tartare, the mussels, and the specific salad name escapes me but it had feta whip. Everything was very good - the tuna was fresh and came with some thin crostini that provided a welcome contrast in texture. The salad was flavorful, but the portion was small for the price and the combination of feta whip with the dressing made it a little too wet. The mussels were great - we chose to have them prepared in a white wine sauce which was super flavorful. It came with two pieces of focaccia which were good albeit slightly stale; crostini would have been better. For mains, we split two: the fish and chips and the linguine with clam sauce. The former was pretty good - two generous pieces of fish, but it could have used more fries; the apple slaw it was served with cut through the heaviness of the dish well. The linguini was also good, however it's hard for me to justify a pasta dish being over $30 - especially in this case where there were relatively few clams and the portion was not big. We also ordered a side of broccoli rabe which was good - though the addition of some garlic bulbs/slices would have elevated it. For desert we split the lemon gelée abd biscoff cheesecake. I wasn't a fan of the former, it had a tough-ish consistency and lacked flavor; the cheesecake was better. Service was excellent; we made conversation with several members of staff while we were there - including the owner. They are really putting an effort in to make this place great and I saw it in all aspects of my experience. Overall, I had a great time at Dakota's; I think they still need to fine-tune their menu, especially in relation to portion sizes and prices. However, if this is an improvement from where they were, then they're taking a step in the right direction.

Beyond the food, Archie's also has one of the best Scotch and whiskey (bourbon and rye included) selections anywhere in the area. It feels curated by people who genuinely care about food and drink, not just running another restaurant. We eat there often, especially for brunch, which is spectacular and consistently better than it has any right to be for a neighborhood spot on City Island. The best example of the attention to detail was the chopped cheese sandwich special. When it arrived, my first thought was: "How is anyone supposed to eat this giant thing?" But then you take a bite and realize the bread was custom made specifically for the sandwich. Somehow it completely melts in your mouth along with the meat and cheese, making this enormous sandwich unexpectedly delicate and perfectly balanced. We saw a lot of people waiting for takeout. The food was so hot and tasty when we picked it up. We got: BEEF TERIYAKI STICKS So tasty, cooked well with a slight char to it and seasoned enough to give it flavor, but nothing overwhelming. CRAB RANGOON These were so crispy and creamy, so freaking good with lots of crab and cream cheese with every bite. FRIED CHICKEN WINGS These chicken wings were GOOOOD! Perfectly fried crispy outside and juicy chicken inside. The flavoring of the outside was very flavorful and made every bite so satisfying. Wish we got an additional order! PORK FRIED RICE This pork fried rice was super tasty, but different. The rice was more pilaf which I absolutely loved and there was so much barbecued pork in it. Wasn't saturated in soy sauce which is how it normally comes, a really light and tasty fried rice. HOT & SOUR SOUP I love hot and sour soup and this was sooo good. It wasn't too sour, flavored and spiced just enough to check all the boxes and left me wanting another bowl full! Spent over $50 and got a free 2-Liter soda too! Will definitely stop by this place again on my future drives through or to NY!!!
