Absolutely terrible. I planned to enjoy my meal outside in my car, but after one bite, I turned right back around and returned both plates for a refund. The food was completely flavorless, and everything was just lumped together since the plates had no compartments. It felt like they dumped everything in a pile and hoped for the best. I saw Fine Food cuisine on Instagram about a year ago and been wanting to stop by and this weekend I had the opportunity to do so. I know they specialize in catering and wasn't sure if it was an actual restaurant but it's not a sit down restaurant. They have a very small seating area and I personally would not have felt comfortable eating inside. It's more like a waiting area. The food is good enough for them to expand to an actual restaurant and hope the owner considers that in the future. It's a black owned business and the owner/chef was there at the location when I ordered my food. Staff was efficient and my food was ready pretty quickly. My lamb chops were cooked to perfection, the rice was lovely and the asparagus was nice and crispy. I ordered a side of lobster mac & cheese and was a little disappointed in the fact that it was just noodles with a lobster sauce over it. There was no cheese. It was a little salty but flavorful. My friend recommended me this place and today I went to check it out with ny family. The waiters were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant wasn't very busy just some online orders here and there, but our wait for the food wasn't very long, probably 10-15 minutes. We got chicken, mozzarella sticks, and fries as a starter. It was seasoned well, flavourful and crunchy. Starters are split between everybody at the table unless you get multiple. Then we got Alfredo, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and stuffed chicken (spinach, rice, and cheese inside)​​, As a Entrée. It was delicious and filling. The ambiance was great. Visited recently. They have many selections of food to offer but I found that eerily interesting because the restaurant doesn't seem to have many customers. The decor is nice with a maroon color theme. I especially like the brick walls. The service was prompt and a lightly toasted bread given. Both servers were cordial. However what I found profoundly interesting is no alcohol is served not even the mildest of drinks offered like a Sangria. Furthermore it doesn't say on their website or on the menu. I think if you own a restaurant and alcoholic beverages are not served your would be clientele should be told. I cannot speak on the food because I didn't eat there but I'm sure there's a place for restaurants that do not sell drinks. One more thing there wasn't any heat. I have been coming to Fine Food Cuisine for the last 6 years and I've never been disappointed!! They truly live up to their name "Fine Food" because the food is made decadently and professionally. Chef Al is literally doing God's work! This review is for their new Harlem location on 116th in East Harlem - I've gone to the new location 3 times since they've opened but this review is focused on my last time on 3/1/24. Service: The staff are super friendly and genuinely make you feel like they are happy to see you. The menu is very extensive and they are very knowledgeable and take their time to explain it without rushing you. They go out their way to check on everyone and if you're ordering to go they make sure your order is correct. I have a family of 5 with a lot of food allergies and picky eaters and Fine Foods always customizes our meals with no issue. Ambiance: This is the perfect spot for a date night or dinner with family. I love the exposed brick walls and red and white decor. The restaurant gives off an upscale, romantic vibe with the tables adorned with high quality white tablecloths with a flower on each table. While Fine Food is new to Harlem, they have nailed the indoor dining experience and I can't wait to see where it goes from here. Food: I can go on and on about the delicious food. My signature meal is the lamb chops with garlic cream sauce and double spinach for the sides. I also love the salmon. To be honest, they can drown anything in that garlic cream sauce and I'd eat it. They seriously need to have that sauce bottled up and sold! My husband's go to meal is the stuffed salmon in garlic cream and rice as his sides. The salmon is wild caught and not farm raised so you can taste the freshness. They do a great job at seasoning the salmon with just the right amount of spices. I've also had the pepper steak and fried shrimp which are amazing. One thing I MUST have every time is the lobster Mac and cheese! It is so creamy and cheesy and packed with lobster. They use a white cheese so while it is very different from your grandma's Mac and cheese, it is very delicious. My brothers are absolutely in love with their voodoo wings. Think of a sweet and spicy sauce with extra flavor. They are a wet rub that is cooked to perfection. I also want to note that the food is reasonably priced, especially for the portion size. This place has spunk. A small hole-in-the-wall type of place with an ambitious menu and pretty solid reviews. I don't want to rain on their parade but I must tell the truth -- my food was just okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I ordered the barbecue chicken and shrimp with macaroni and cheese and string beans. The chicken breast was a little dry (either overcooked or old) but still edible. The sauce was a little sweet for my liking but not terrible. The shrimp was shrimp -- nothing special but definitely not objectionable. I'd give the macaroni a 3.75 out of 5. It was somewhat flavorful but there was nothing really remarkable about it. The same with the string beans. They were tender and tasted like string beans -- nothing special but definitely edible. If the food was amazing, the prices would be just right; however, for what I received, I'd say my meal was overpriced. I could have been just as satisfied for less money at Popeyes. However, strangely enough, I don't regret giving this spot a chance and I'm not opposed to trying it again. Let me start by saying this review is for their new location in East Harlem. We came in on Saturday afternoon and waited over an hour for our food. When it arrived it was not worth waiting for. Extremely mediocre and for the most part lukewarm. My steak sandwich was ordered without cheese, but had cheese on half of the sandwich for some reason. The staff was apologetic for our wait, and the mistake in the order but didn't offer anything other than a sorry to make up for the issues. On the whole I would recommend avoiding the place. We were lucky enough to have the owner cook our meals mid day on a sunday. Exceptional skills and flavor profiles. Portions are almost big enough to share. I got the jerk chicken with asparagus and broccoli. Everything perfectly cooked and seasoned. This is a one or a kind jerk chicken. Not an over the top allspice but more of a well rounded seasoning with a gravy style sauce. Medium heat but might be considered hot for some. The veggies were melt in your mouth and not over buttered. My wife got the paella and it didn't disappoint. All the seafood was cooked perfect and buttery rice well seasoned. Not too spicy. Morris Park has its fill of eateries. From many Italian family-owned to a few big chain kinds. Then there's Fine Food Cuisine- a little known spot (at least to me it is), off White Plains Rd. This place is freaking small. No. Wait. I'm serious. I'm not kidding. But they make good use of a counter and stools to the left and several tables around. Noticed the Owner/Chef's funky eye for hooking his place up with a dash of style. Quite honestly, if it weren't for the Chandeliers, Fine Food Cuisine would look drab. So on paper, I was very impressed with the huge menu of Seafood, Vegetarian, Chicken, Beef Dishes oh, and pork. There are Salads, a Paella even freaking, Lobster Mac & Cheese featured also. I'm curious and I want that! Hospitality was definitely there. Steven was very accommodating the entire time at the front of the house. Had my sights on a few seafood items, but were all out. However, Mozzarella Sticks were a nice gooey Starter and my Fish Tacos (w/my request of no sour cream) were decent on fresh tasting, Corn Tortillas. According to My Mom, her Steak Sandwich was good piled with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and Chipotle Mayo. The only reason I'm giving it one star is because I cant give it 0. First off; I placed an order at 7:12 and my food arrived at 9:32. Secondly when the food arrived it was completely soggy. French fries were soggy and the breading from my shrimps were not on the shrimp. The lobster Mac and cheese was so nasty. Literally tasted like nothing. Now the tacos my son ordered: the tortilla was cold and the meat was gray. He took one bite and everything fell apart and that is the picture I've attached. This place is so bad. I come to Fine Food Cuisine at least once a month. I get my usual stuffed salmon with crab meat. And my sides are sweet plantain & spinach. My other favorites are the lamb chops and the surf & turf, which I would get every year for Diner en Blanc in the city. It sometimes hard to get someone on the phone to place an order beforehand. I was hesitant to leave a review at all for this place, but after sharing my experience with a couple of people they suggested that I say something. So, I visited the restaurant two nights ago; I'd never heard of the place before but I had a two-day refresher class a few blocks away on E. 180th St. On Monday, a classmate kept talking about this place and how great it was and being the foodie I am, my ears perked up immediately. I found their website and their Instagram page and was even more excited to visit the next day. Walked there during a long lunch break Tuesday night. Scrolling through the menu, everything looked delectable from high-to-end but this being my first visit I decided to go with something midrange and relatively simple: A Chicken Parmesan. I figured, any restaurant worth its salt that makes and sells Chicken Parmesan should be able to execute a passing version of the dish at the least. So, I showed up (much smaller establishment than I expected...couple of line cooks in front, I'm assuming a few more crew in the back), placed my order, was done maybe a little more than 10 minutes later, cashier comes from behind the counter to hand me the bag, and I'm off. Get back to my classroom, open my bag, lift the lid and behold...this dish, with a generous layer of melted YELLOW cheese. I'm perplexed...I've had Chicken Parmesan many times in my life from many different places, but never have I ever seen a Chicken Parmesan finished with anything other than Mozzarella cheese. The description for the dish on the website even specifies that it is made with Mozzarella cheese. I look at it again...is it Cheddar? Then I'm like, no way...Cheddar cheese does not melt that smoothly and evenly. Oh well, here I am. I'm hungry so let's dig in. First bite: This is exactly what I thought it was - yellow American cheese. Not a bad yellow American cheese mind you, probably Boar's Head or something on that level; I recognize the taste because that's the same cheese I buy at my local market for sandwiches. But it's YELLOW AMERICAN CHEESE! This is supposed to be a Chicken Parmesan! Weird and disappointing. Beyond that, the spaghetti noodles were al dente; cooked but a little too firm to the bite. The sauce was rather ungenerous and forgettable flavor wise. No bread provided whatsoever. Look, I'll just say this. The reason I initially didn't want to leave a review at all is because, this is a small Black-owned business and I root for Black-owned business. That's First. Secondly, I see that the place has some pretty great reviews from many people who obviously had a great experience with it. Guess it wasn't my night. Any restaurant can have an off night I suppose...all comes down to the cooking staff. The thought did occur to me before I decided to go there was that it must be pretty difficult for a restaurant that takes dine-in, takeout AND delivery which such a wide-ranging menu with everything from pasta to Surf & Turf to burgers to wraps to quesadillas to consistently be good at every single one of those things all at once; I pondered that question even harder once I got there and saw how small the place was. I wish this place all the best and hope they leave their future customers happy...but I don't think I'll be back. The thing that cannot forget is, no one said anything about the fact that the dish was done with the wrong cheese. Just gave me the bag. Maybe they didn't have Mozzarella cheese at the time and had to improvise...so perhaps, tell me, the customer? Ask me if I'm okay with the substitution? I may have been amenable (eh probably not, it was weird). Oh one positive thing I should mention in all fairness, the fried breaded chicken breast was generously large and cooked pretty much to perfection. Today I woke up with a huge Mac and cheese craving so I googled restaurants near me which provided. Fine Food Cusine popped up which was immensely convenient to me since it's near my house. The cashier told me about the different Mac and cheese they have (oxtail, lobster and plain) lobster appeared too good to resist. CON: I figure I should've ordered for pick up. When I've passed the restaurant before there were always lots of people inside. I waited approximately 20 mins as I expected. If you're going to pick up here's a tip: order 20-25 mins in advance. Location is also quite small, maybe 5 tables in all. PRO: the Mac and cheese was delicious!! Everything was perfect. Creamy and buttery, lots of lobster... just to die for. The fries was more indulging than the actual wings. As for the pepper steak dinner, the meat was tough and chewy, the mac n cheese came straight from a box (like really). The only good part was the mash n gravy. Furthermore, my meal was no more than $35 for those two orders but came up to $50 with tax and a $10 delivery fee which is a scam. Whenever the young lady is at the front desk business runs smoothly--- I can say nothing bad of the food in this place but here is the bad about the business: 1-Wait times are too long for take out. Cool place. Usually only get salmon or fish tacos. I live really nearby and it saddens my heart to pass black owned restaurants to get something else because of poor price target or failure to be better. I have no problem paying $10 for tacos but at least double the tortilla. By the time I receive the meal the taco is torn and I can't pick it up making one salad. I called to place an order and requested if I could have two tortillas even if I have to pay more and the FOH guys on the phone said, "nah we don't do that." Like come on. I went for a quesadilla and only regular cheese was $10. I asked for a protein and that was $6!!! Whereas, I could simply walk up the block to an authentic mexican restaurant and receive traditional Mexican tacos and quesadillas of quality for much less. You'd receive a lot more customers if customer service was maintained in the food quality as well. I ordered from FFC for grams 89th Birthday back on April 13. We're isolating together and I had shown her one of their Instagram videos and she made it clear that she wanted a Surf and Turf platter, lobster, mashed and french fries. Since they deliver their own food, and are locally owned I was happy to support them. Good: ~Food came when promised. ~Food tasted good. ~Steak was exceptional Bad: ~They got the order wrong, sent us shrimp instead of lobster. She is still bringing this up a month later. I tried calling them once we opened the container, but the phone was first busy and then we were left on hold. ~They charge a $10 delivery fee, that was shocking. Their prices are reflective of what you are getting $42 for surf and turf. They deliver themselves, so I was surprised that it was so steep but grams gets what she wants...
